PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Greetings friends of NHABDA I think most of us felt snowbound the entire month of February. It snowed every weekend and the only exercise we got was shoveling and cleaning off the car. Most every dance Mike and I planned to attend during the month was cancelled. Unfortunately this included the Indoor Beach Party we had scheduled for February 21st. I was really looking forward to Souvenir Photos on the Red Carpet! Canstock Photo, Inc./alpha spirit Please make reservations by 7:00 pm on Thur., March19th! getting out and dancing to music by the new DJ, Alpha Beats. He is scheduled to play for us later this year. I was also disappointed to miss the Paper Moon Dance Center showcases. I heard the individual dancers and formation teams gave excellent performances at the Eastern Dance Sport event held earlier that day. Should it become necessary to cancel an event, we contact those with reservations, either by or with a phone call. We also try to send a general notification whenever possible. PRESIDENT S MESSAGE continued from page 1 it is a good idea to check the website before heading out. Mark your calendars and think Spring! On March 21st we are putting on the Ritz with our Red Carpet Night Event, complete with the Windham Community Swing Band. This is the first time they will be playing for a NHABDA dance. Get out your rhinestones and tuxes and come dressed to impress we will be taking photos! Arthur Murray Dance Studio will be teaching a Tango lesson before the dance and they have a great showcase planned for later in the evening. On March 28th NHABDA is sponsoring a dance workshop. Norman Thibeault of Fred Astaire Studios, Worcester will be returning to the Bedford Town Hall to teach patterns in both Intermediate to Advanced Rumba and Cha-Cha. Preregistration is required by March 26th, so please call in your reservation as soon as possible to Betty Ashooh ( ). More details are in this Footnotes and also posted on our website Application for NHABDA Membership New Hampshire Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association On April 11th we will be holding a Back to the 50s Sock Hop with an East Coast Swing lesson by Let s Dance Studio of Concord and music provided by Joe Butera, DJ. Outreach also had to reschedule their February performances due to snow. The Outreach group originally scheduled for Valentine s day, danced at Bedford Hills in Bedford, NH on Feb. 22nd, entertaining just over 30 residents, guests and staff. Several residents got up and danced with our performers. The next Outreach is at Bentley Commons, Bedford, NH on Sunday, March 15.
