We dress in American Revolutionary War Uniforms marching in holiday parades and observances and posting of the colors at our general membership meetings. 8 P a g e Americanism Poster Contest Withlacoochee Chapter 1 st Place Winner Madeline Wyka The First Place award winner for the 2015 SAR Americanism Poster Contest, Madeline Wyka and her family were guests of the Withlacoochee Chapter at the chapter general meeting in May. Madeline was the winner at the Chapter level and subsequently placed fourth at the Florida Society Annual Meeting in Orlando. She was awarded with a presentation of the Outstanding Citizen certificate and the $100 First Place cash award. 9 P a g e 9 Chapter Awards Color Guardsman Paul Pardee had been awarded a Silver Roger Sherman Medal by State for Aide and CAR Committee work at State level. Immediate Past President Edward Gingrich was presented with a Certificate of Distinguished Service for his term as Withlacoochee Chapter SAR President. Withlacoochee Chapter SAR Ladies Auxiliary Lillian Gingrich was presented with the Lydia Darragh Medal and Certificate. Lillian Gingrich was recognized by the Chapter to have been the most helpful to our Immediate Past President Edward Gingrich during his tenure as Chapter President.

May 19, 2015 Dick Young, Tampa Chapter President and State Treasurer, along with Withlacoochee Chapter Color Guard Commander Larry Sturgeon were present as part of the Color Guard at the St. Pete/Clearwater airport to welcome back our WWII veterans from their visit to the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C.

20 P a g e 20 The President General's Cruise...from Charlie Day The President's Cruise Brevard Veterans Center 400 S Sykes Creek Pkwy, Merritt Island FL Host of Event: Brevard Chapter SAR May 17, 2015 SAR President General Lindsey Brock and other SAR members stopped at Port Canaveral as part of the SAR Cruise described in recent issues of The SAR Magazine for a wreath laying ceremony at the Marker for the Last Naval Battle of the American Revolution. This took place Sunday afternoon, May 17 at Merritt Island Veterans center. Lindsey Brock III gave a great and emotional Oration on the "Last Naval Battle". It was well appreciated by all. Past PG Butler and PG Brock center front. FLSSAR Commander Day and Lindsey Brock III located just behind them. There are at least 4 Past National PG's in this picture. Commander Day is facing the audience and President General Lindsey Brock has called Day to front to introduce Charlie Day, the Florida State Brigade Commander to the group (Full group not shown).

21 P a g e 21 Board of Management Meeting May 1st - 3rd, 2015 Florida Hotel and Conference Center, Orlando, FL Withlacoochee Chapter Sons of the American Revolution at State Annual Meeting in Orlando The business meeting included election of officers. Lawrence Fehrenbaker of Naples Chapter was elected state president, Withlacoochee Chapter member, Robert Folk, was elected Sgt. at Arms, and 7 of our chapter members were named to serve on one or more State committees. Charlie Day, previously State Vice Commander of the Color Guard, was moved up to Commander. One of the fun things at the Annual meeting is the Youth Luncheon when the various JROTC, Elementary Posters, Essay and Eagle contest winners are recognized. Withlacoochee s Eagle Scout Scholarship Winner, Jeremiah Lovestrand of Floral City, was honored as the State s first place Winner. He was presented a Bronze Eagle statue and a $1,000 check. We were all proud to be with Jeremiah and his parents at the luncheon. The Friday night Banquet included awards. Withlacoochee won 2nd place in the Chapter Challenge, 2nd place in the Publicity Contest (included a $125.00), and 4th place in the Elementary School Poster Contest. Saturday night banquet included installation of Officers and the Ladies Auxiliary basket Sales. Withlacoochee Ladies Auxiliary members present were Ellie Folk, Lillian Gingrich and Dot Day.
