1 Issue 19 Thursday, June From the Head of Junior School Mr Chris Jackman MID-YEAR HOLIDAYS I would like to wish all of the students a safe and relaxing holiday. I look forward to seeing everyone back next term refreshed and ready for work. SATURDAY SPORT Please note that there will be Saturday Sport on Saturday, 20 th June. We also have U7, U9 and U11 Rugby at the Bathurst Bulldogs on Friday, 19 th at 5.00pm. HIGHLY COMMENDED Congratulations to Lauren Cant who was awarded a Highly Commended (3rd place) for the Years 5/6 Division at the CWA Public Speaking Finals which was held at Narromine on Tuesday, 16th June. Well done Lauren. CHAPEL NEWS The Good Samaritan This week we have been discussing the meaning behind some of the Parables in the Bible. During our Chapel Service this week some of our Year 6 students performed a short play on the Good Samaritan and the students were asked to come up with what they thought was the moral to the story. Chris Jackman All Saints College JUNIOR SCHOOL VIM Kindergarten Kindergarten felt that we should be kind to people who are hurt or lost, to our friends, family and others who need help. Year 1A A good person helps everyone when they need it, even a stranger. Year 1W Take care of people when they are hurt. Put bandages on people. If you see someone hurt, don t walk around them and just say they are disgusting. Everyone can be nice and help everyone no matter if they are poor or rich. Year 2 Year 2 think the story means that you should help people who need your help, whether they are the same as you or a different religion or race. Even when it may take you out of your way, or cost you some money. Year 3 The good Samaritan helps people no matter what they look like. Year 4 Don t judge a book by its cover. To help not judge don t ignore people in need. Treat each other as you would like to be treated. Year 5 The parable means you should always help your neighbour whoever they are. Year 6 No matter what religion or nationality always help someone in need. Planning a clean out in the holidays? Don t forget to save TRASH AND TREASURE items for the All Saints Spring Fair in September We will take donations of good quality second hand toys, kitchenware, clothes, etc. (no electrical please) to sell on September 13th Donations can be bought to school next term and left on Warren Stock s front verandah. Thanks and happy holidays. JUNIOR SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES All parents are welcome to attend Junior School assemblies. 2 PRE-KINDERGARTEN NEWS This week in Pre-Kinder we are learning about the letter o and the sound it makes. The children had so much fun spatter painting over an octopus template and adding a little or a lot of sparkle using glitter, sequins and gems! In Science we loved making and tasting our own freshly squeezed orange juice. In Mathematics we explored the number 9. We sang Dr Knickerbocker number 9 and enjoyed completing handwriting and pasting activities in our Maths scrapbooks. We have seen many unique and interesting items for news this week! We will say goodbye to our wonderful Gappie s, Mr Josh, Miss Scarlett and Miss Verity. They have been a valuable asset to the Pre-Kinder team and will be sadly missed. The Pre-kinder team would like to wish everyone a relaxing and safe holiday and we will see you all again in Term 3! Carl lined up for seconds of our yummy orange juice. Soana uses a dot stamper to stamp 9 dots in her lolly jar. Lucy has brought in a xylophone for News. Jessie is spatter painting over her octopus template. Alicia squeezing her orange. Jimmi shows us how handy he is with a knife! Matilda and Ava carefully complete their Jazzles worksheet. Sianna makes a pattern on a mini bead board.

Clubhouse Duty Roster: ASC Tiger Cubs July 18 ASC Jaguars Aug 15 ASC Leopards Aug 22 Good luck for Saturday s games everyone! Gabrielle Darlington, Junior School Netball Coordinator Match reports: Saturday, June 13 ASC Leopards It was a cold and foggy morning as the ASC Leopards came to the netball courts for an 8.45am game against the Collegians Strikers. Everyone played their best with Pip and Lauren in defence, Charlotte R. and Georgie shooting and Megan, Jessica, Sophie and Kate in the centre court positions. The ASC Leopards defeated Collegians Strikers Well done, girls! Sophie Porter ASC Jaguars Last Saturday ASC Jaguars played Collegians Pop stars. It was a close game but the Pop stars scored the winning goal defeating Jaguars 5-4. The Jaguars played extremely well and have improved a lot since the start of the season. Olivia played exceptionally well and was awarded the player of the match. Thank you again to Kirrily for her help while Mrs Edwards(mum) was away. Kate Edwards ASC Tiger Cubs On Saturday 13th June the ASC Tiger Cubs took on the Collegians Tigerlilys. Our girls played their best with Poppy, Ruby, Emily and Sophie defending the ball and getting some great intercepts. In Attack, Milla, Lulu, Isabella, Immi and Evie worked hard to get the ball down the court. Together the girls worked as a team and managed to score 2 goals to Tigerlilys 1. Milla Nelson walked away with Player of the match after some super attacking and outstanding goal shooting. The girls are to be congratulated on their amazing sportsmanship and ability to play as a team. Well done Tiger Cubs! Imogen Allen, Captain UNDER 6 SOCCER LIONS The Lions had a great match of soccer. Callum stepped up to play two games to help out the team as Noah was off sick and Eliza was away, so we were left with 3 players. Callum, the superstar stepped up to help our team win 12/3. Callum scored an amazing 10 goals and Harry scored 2. Both the boys worked well together to come away with the goals moving fast around the field. Molly and Anna were extremely enthusiastic this week taking lots of free kicks with Anna winning this weeks medal for Player of the Week. Well done Lions! UNDER 7 SOCCER SPRINGBOKS 23rd May Another brilliant Bathurst morning greeted us at Proctor Park. The Springboks faced some stiff opposition up against Bathurst 75 s Scorchers. The Springboks were a little shell shocked with such a strong opposition. However, they gathered themselves and played a brilliant defence game. Natalie and Evie played great games on the wing. Banjo worked hard in attack and Leo, Lachie and Kosema did an excellent job defending the goal against such tough opponents. The medal went to Banjo who showed excellent sportsmanship and continued to encourage all his team mates even when the going got tough. Congratulations Banjo. 13th June - The Springboks came back fresh after a week off due to the opposition forfeiting and the long weekend. It was a fairly even match and the Springboks once gain played with determination and did us all proud with their fantastic displays of sportsmanship. It was a great to see a number of players go and check on an opposition player who had fallen over. Great job Leo & Evie. Kosema and Oscar made a great defence team strategically putting the ball over the line when close to goals. Banjo and Lachie showed us some great ball skills. Congratulations to Natalie who slotted her first goal of the season. Riley was the medal winner this week, it was quite a warm day, but Riley didn t stop running. Congratulations Riley.
