A word from our president: We suffered a hefty loss against our old foes foster- however our fourths and seconds came through with a win. Then there was last week with.. What a game! I was really excited to see the boys come together and the teamwork was sensational, each backing the other up, The ball was a great success thanks to jaz and her helpers and the sponsor s lunch was enjoyed by all who attended. Thankyou to all of them. Good luck to all teams this week against Korumburra, it would be great to bring home another win. Neil

2 Keeping the ball in play with great team work in the fourths win over foster and stony. These boys are great to watch so in the words of molly Meldrum do yourself a favour.. the game starts at half past reunion: It was great to see most of the 2000 grand final team back in the club rooms at the one time, with some great on and off the field memories and stories on the night. A team, it s got to have wheels, and wheels turning! was the quote from the, then coach Graham Hoskin. Congratulations jack: You are a legend, a larrikin and a gentleman Jack has received many awards and Accolades over the years at the club, is a life Member, (which proves he s old). In 1958 He formed the leagues thirds competition With Bill Tibbles and is usually in charge of the Off side score board. Jacks a great club person who just loves to be part of it. Well done O.T.

3 A regular sight around our courts is young Ella Littlejohn, with her favorite football day accessory- Gabby & Buckos dog chocolates. Better than what she found and bought down to show her mum during one of the foster games, dangling it by its tail a dead mouse! NETBALL NEWS FROM WENDY: Firstly can all that visit the courts this week check for any lost or missing items of clothing that might be yours, hanging in the court shed. Some have been there along time and will make there way to the op shop if not collected. On Saturday we where lucky enough to be involved in the work safe game of the month. The day started out with Sharelle McMahon and Karyn Bailey from the Vixens and Fury, they took the older netta and u13's and u15's for a skills session. The girls were each given show bags and a chance to get autographs and photos. Our 13's played on Tuesday night and had a terrific win. Later in the day there was a luncheon put on by Netball Victoria, with Life members, sponsors and committee members attending. There were guest speakers from Work safe, Netball Victoria, Sharelle McMahon and Karyn Bailey spoke about their experiences as netballers at a high level. Then it was back to the courts to watch A grade play and play they did, congratulations girls you all played extremely well. We where all invited back for afternoon tea and Sharelle presented the A grade girls with their medals. Congratulations to Bree LittleJohn for her best on court Performance. A great day was had by all. The games for the rest of the day were u15's playing after A grade, they had a good win. In the 17's they just got home by 2 goals, C grade and B grade just narrowly going down. Congratulations to Elysia, Abbey, Beth, Hannah, Amy, Kaylee and Shannon on being selected to represent Alberton this Sunday at Bairnsdale. Good luck girls.

4 Training: The week leading up to our stony game had the girls on split training nights. The C s trained with the 17s on the usual Wednesday under the watchful eye of coach s Steff and Ange. The A +B trained together on the Thursday night to include the big D and to work on their set plays. * A morning with the vixens Sharelle McMahon* Last week we had the privilege of being involved in the game of the month at stony. A promotional game organised by netball Victoria, in conjunction with work safe. Not only having a tent for free health checks, face painting and jumping castle for the young ones, But Sharelle McMahon, captain of the Melbourne vixens and Karen bailey, the very tall goal shooter from Vic fury held a training clinic for the under 13, 15 and a few top age neta girls. The girls started with follow the leader- warm up for 2 minutes, stretching, hospital tiggy, some hand eye coordination using small balls, passing and so on. Congratulations to Bree who won MVP for the game- and fantastic win over stony. All girls received a commemorative medal from sharelle after the game.

5 Come and see our new play ground, the kids are having a ball, and the parents are less stressed about where they are. Thanks to Aiden, his dad and Bree for the fantastic fencing, and for moving the gate to nowhere from the shed. Great job guys! Player Profiles! 6 The ball what a ball was had by all in attendance. With this years theme, most people arrived in some fantastic masks and head gear which started the night off with great conversation. Thanks to our own master chef Helen, the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Thank you to jasmine for organizing the whole event- and the clean up. Thanks to Trina for decorations and Bec n co behind the bar. To people that donated to raffle prizes. And moons Can t forget our busses. Thanks to everyone that helped out.
