Cinema Night On Thursday 19 th June at 7pm we have obtained opening night for the screening of Blended featuring Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore (Rated M). Our aim is to sell out the cinema with 300 tickets. This is one of our major fundraising events this year. We are asking our school community for donations for the raffles on the night. Whether you work at a business where you can seek a voucher or donate a prize every bit helps. There will be a basket at the front office where you can leave them. If you are able to help with donations or have an idea please contact Linda Garraway on We require some yummy food to consume after the film viewing. If you are able to provide some delicacies please return the form later in the newsletter or contact Tara Coppola on Food needs to be dropped off at the Mildura Club at 4:00pm on the 19th June. You can purchase tickets directly at the front office or by returning the slip later in the newsletter, these tickets will be available for collection on the night. Being such a fantastic comedy movie, tickets will sell quickly. This is a night open to the wider community, ask friends & family to come along. Thanking you in advance for your support, come along & have a laugh! Grip Leadership Conference Today our Grade 6 student leaders attended a leadership course at the Mildura Grand Hotel. They participated in a variety of sessions that will help them to develop their leadership skills. The students were accompanied by Mrs Aleisha Milne and we are looking forward to hearing about what they learnt. Regional Cross Country We have a number of students competing in the Regional Cross Country in St. Arnaud next Tuesday, 3rd June. We wish all the competitors well and look forward to hearing about their endeavours. Thanks to Mrs Nadine McWilliams and all the other parents who will be transporting and supporting the students on the day. Lunch Orders There is no Vanilla Breaka Milk available at the moment. Uniform The weather has been cooler recently and students need to dress appropriately. Please make sure that your child wears correct uniform to school each day, this includes jumpers. Remember to name ALL items of clothing. All named uniform items that have found their way to the Lost Property box have been returned to their owners. Black shoes are the preferred footwear on none sports days. Fees School Fees were due last term. This year we are holding a Free Fee Draw. If you have paid all your families fees before the end of second term you will go in a draw to get ONE child s fees returned to you. This is a great incentive as you could save $200! If there is more gravity pull on an object in water then it will sink. If there is more upward push of water on an object in water then it will float! Students in Grade 2 explored the transfer of energy by investigating the momentum of a marble rolling down a ramp and transferring that movement to a plastic cup resting on a table. They varied the heights of the ramp to see if this made a difference to the momentum of the marble to the cup. Students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 this week did a self-assessment task on their parachute design. They also started to explore and investigate the term propulsion during flight. They were allowed to use balloons, plastic cups, straws and match-box cars to show their understandings. Irymple South Primary School Newsletter - Issue 16, Week 6, Term 2,
