4 Upcoming Workshop Information: In the spirit of celebration, we are scheduling two upcoming workshops to dress the halls for the Investiture. The first one will be held at the Commons on October 13, with the second one October 13 Commons On Saturday, October 13th, Baron Sean de Londres and Lady Ilya will host our next Baronial Commons from noon to 6pm. As always, we ask that if you attend you please bring some food to share (for 4 people). There will be a BBQ Grill set up if you would care to prepare We would ask that folks interested in the painting portion of the workshops wear messy clothes as we will be dealing with acrylic paints. Brushes and paints, as well as textile medium (to convert the acrylic paints to fabric paints), will be supplied but we can always use more. Folks are encouraged to use their own devices (you ve gotten them passed - why not display them!) or simply create generic heraldic banners. For those in mortal fear of October 29 Workshop Please Note: The primary focus will be the banners and the finishing of the cast tokens. something appropriate for that. There will also be coolers and ice available to keep your beverages cold. If convenient, the hosts ask that you please bring a chair (as seating may be somewhat limited), and suggest that you try to carpool as parking may be somewhat tight. October 13 Workshop The October 29 Workshop will be held at the home of: Baroness Alysaun of Kyrenia (mka Linda Davies) 887 Park Avenue Huntington, NY (Google provides good directions) (631) following on October 29th at the home of Baroness Alysaun, who has graciously opened her home for this workshop. The focus of both workshops are painted heraldic banners to be hung inside the hall and the casting of special pewter tokens for the day. Also, check the information on the upcoming workshops to be held at Commons. The October 13 Commons & Workshop will be held at the home of : Baron Sean DeLondres: 215 Carlton Drive Shirley, NY (631) Time/Date: Saturday., Oct. 13th 12:00 noon 6pm rendering their devices themselves, folks will be on hand to sketch the designs for you to paint. For those interested in working with the pewter tokens, this presents a good opportunity for those interested in learning the art of soapstone pewter casting. Help is needed in the heating, casting, and finishing of the tokens. Baron Jean Xavier is heading up this workshop. We would ask that, for the October Commons, folks bring any folding tables they might have at their disposal in order to provide adequate workspace for all those interested in both workshops. 6 Greetings Unto The Populace! It was with great joy that we witnessed the Coronation of our new King and Queen! King Andreas and Queen Gabriela expressed Their wish to visit all the baronies within Their Domain. And we, in turn look forward to the Grace of Their Presence at the Investiture of our Heirs, Master Ateno and Lady Lassar, next month. We would ask the populace to show Their Majesties the incredible talent we have witnessed these years we have stood as your Coronet. Such a welcome site would also be a wonderful way to greet your new Coronets as they take their places on the Baronial Seat. We would also remind folks that her Majesty has need of Queen s Favors to bestow upon those fighting in the upcoming interkingdom wars. Please consider sewing or painting some that we might gift her with some upon their visit to our Barony next month. Contact our Arts and Sciences Minister, Lord Matthias T. Weasel, and his deputy Damianna, to let them know you are interested. A pattern and information for the favors can be found on the East Kingdom website at: As of this missive, we shall be off to Kingdom Crusades in support of Their Majesties. We hope to see some of the populace there. Please remember that the martial arts of fighting, fencing, and archery are not the only ways you might support our Kingdom. There is always great need for support staff, most especially water bearers. We heartily encourage folks to consider attending these wars in any capacity that our King and Queen, as well as those of other Kingdoms, might bear witness to our dedication and generosity.
