5 7 A Letter from Our Seneschal Wishes for a fine holiday season are sent from Mistress Daphne of Colchester, Seneschal of the Barony of Seleone, How about that month of November?! Maerwynn and the fighters of Seleone had a great get together for a regional fighter practice. Everyone had a great time. There was also archery, which has inspired more than one member of our group to get bows and arrows and join in the live weapons at SCA events. Then we did the Maker s Faire goes Medieval at Barnes and Noble. Thank you to the Barony for all the great displays and sharing of knowledge. Everyone seemed to have a great time and had lots of fun. THEN, we had the Highlands and Islands Demo at Beauvoir Manor. This is always one of our biggest demos. We are so happy that they are back and it seemed to be a wonderful event. Lots of kudos to those who came out and worked so hard to have all the fun. The Dungeon was well attended and many good gentles visited with Their Excellencies about their painting and calligraphy. THEN-Seleone s own Loric and Diana won Crown List and are now the Prince and Princess of Gleann Abhann. Awe, Hail!! Speaking of Their Highnesses, I have the honor of being their chancellor and part of my job is running the entourage for Their Highnesses. If any of you are interested in helping at a particular event, or helping closer to home, please let me know. There is plenty of work and fun to be had by all. There is the packing, unpacking and carrying all the things there and back again. But be warned, a lot of being royal entourage is waiting nearby, and waiting.and waiting. Sadly, this month, we saw the passing of Mistress Brigit Olesdottir. She was a great friend to Seleone and will always be remembered by us. December brings to us, Christmas Revel, where Seleone may finally have to confront Their Excellencies of Axemoor over the recent infestation of frogs. Turf War of the Pearls!!!! December also brings to us the Annual Cookie Swap at Baroness Dediana s house for Arts and Sciences on December 14 th. Included in the December fun is Gift Wrap at Barnes and Noble on December 16 th from 5PM till 9PM and December 17 th from 11AM till. Even if you can t wrap, come one out and just hang and help promote the SCA to interested gentles. Please come in garb.
