Baronial Champions was an exhilarating event, filled with so many inspirational moments, laughter, and love! This past weekend is still hard for me to put into words! Baseline Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283) The Populace Meeting for December 6th at Encanto Park where fighter practice is held at 7:15pm. We are looking for a new site for our Populace Meetings. 8 Baronial Officer Want Ads The Big Red Officer Core is looking for a few volunteers to help run the Barony either as a deputy or the principal officer. Come and learn how the Barony runs from a business perspective. Help is always appreciated and gratefully accepted. If you want more details about any of these positions either contact the principal officer if there is one or the Seneschal's office. Captain of the Archers Chancellor of Youth Rapier Marshal The Captain of Archers is in charge of archery for the barony, running practice in conjunction with the Captain of Archery of Sundragon, teaching the proper rules to new archers, and keeping the Archery loaner gear. Coordinates efforts to integrate the youth of the kingdom into the many activities and events of the Society. The Rapier Marshal is in charge of rapier fighting and making sure that fighters are fighting in a safe manor, and keeping the Rapier loaner gear Position open till filled. Position open till filled. 12 Upcoming Events Coronation and King and Queen s Champions Tourney November 4th and 5th On November 4th, we shall gather to witness the last court of Their Majesties Áilgheánan and Amber the 95thCrown of glorious Atenveldt, and their Heirs ascend to the thrones. Let us enjoy the day together and let the smiles and laughter flow freely. And on the following day let us gather together to see the skill of the fighters of the kingdom compete for King and Queen s Champion. Event fee is $15 for adults $5 discount for members, youth 17 and under is free. Coronation Saturday November 4th, 2017 Site: Glendale Nazarene Church 5902 W. Cactus Rd. Glendale Arizona (north west corner of 59th Ave & Cactus) Once you find your best route to the intersection you will see the church on the North West corner. You will find entrances to the parking lot on 59th Ave and on Cactus. Site opens at 9 am and site closes at 5pm. Site is Alcohol and tobacco free and only designated service dogs will be permitted. Sunday November 5th, 2017 Site: Cheyenne Elementary N. 87th Ave Peoria, Az (87th Ave & Cactus) Once you find your best route to 87th and Cactus. Turn South on 87th avenue on your right you will see the school. Entrances to parking can be found on Cherry hills Dr and 87th Ave. everything will occur behind the school off of Cherry Hill Dr. Site opens at 9 am and site closes at 6pm. 13 Southern Crusades November 8th November 12th It is time again for Southern Crusades! The drums of war can be heard emanating from the horizon! This year the Southern Armies are marching on Crusade northward to bring deeds of heroism, chivalry and beauty to the fields of Schnepf! The heralds cry to make way and join in the march of the Barony March of Mons Tonitrus and the Barony of Tir Ysgithr as they set on the war-path to descend upon the lands where the Estrella Wars were fought. In the spirit of friendly competition all groups of this great Kingdom of Atenveldt (and beyond) are called upon to participate! Each of the baronies, shires and colleges will be competing on every level! Points will be awarded for archery, thrown weapons, arts and sciences, volunteer hours, hard suit fighting, rapier fighting, bardic, and tournaments. The group with the most points at the end of the event will win a banner to display as bragging rights in their camps until the next year. But wait there's more! This year volunteer hours will be paid to groups! Each volunteer gets to choose which official SCA group they wish to designate their hours to. We also have added a bonus incentive to pre-register for the event an extra day! If you are pre-registered you can come on site Wednesday. Non pre-registered folks will be admitted starting at 8am on Thursday. Dates: Wednesday (pre-reg) November 8th- Sunday November 12th. Site opens at 8am Wednesday (for pre-reg), 8am Thursday for general admittance and closes promptly at 2pm Sunday. Registration fees: Pre-registered adult $35 with a $5 membership discount ($30 for members) At the gate adult $40 with a $5 membership discount ($35 for members) Children 5-17 $5 Family cap available to members only with pre-reg: $70 Daytrip adult $25 with a $5 membership discount ($20 for members) Daytrip children $5 for ages 5-17 There are plenty of showers on site, located northwest of merchants row in the stone privy building. 14 Kingdom A&S and Chocolate Revel November 18th November 19th Greetings to the Glorious Kingdom of Atenveldt! Kingdom A&S Competition quickly approaches. Join us November 18th and 19th 2017 for the Kingdom A&S Competition and witness the new Kingdom A & S Champion announced. Saturday evening the College of Brymstone will be hosting their annual Chocolate Revel: Let s Get Ready to REVEL! The time has come to share chocolate, camaraderie, crossbows, catapults, creativity, and the celebration of a new semester for our College. Wear your beginner garb to demonstrate to the students how we all started crooked hems, dead dinosaur fabrics, t-tunics patterned from t-shirts you remember the days. Activities include: Subtleties competition for our very talented and competitive populace members who enjoy creating delectable chocolate wonders On-site chocolate masterpiece building competition for those engineers who like to think on their feet Mini-catapult and mini-crossbow shooting competitions to bring out the kids in all of us Kingdom A&S Competition will be held November 18th and 19th at ASU-Polytechnic. Saturday the site will open at 9am with court at Their Majesties Pleasure. Chocolate Revel will begin at 6pm The site closes at 10pm. Sunday the site will open at 9am and close at 6pm. If you are interested in finding a location for lunch during the event or dinner after, there are a number of eateries in the area. The closest eateries are located at the Gilbert Gateway Town Center There is also a Subway and Starbucks in the Student Union. If you bring a picnic lunch there are several areas nearby to sit and enjoy said lunch. As this is on the ASU Campus it is a very Dry site and there are no tobacco products allowed. Commander of the Purpure Clarion The Commander of the Purpure Clarion is given by the Baron and Baroness, to those person who have through the years made major and continuing contribution of excellence in the performance, promotions and teaching of the Arts and Sciences. In as much as they continually serve the Barony and share their talents they deserve to receive the highest of praise. May their light shine forth for all to see. These awards may only be given out twice a year, traditionally at the Anniversary and Yule events. Only those members of the Order of the Purpure Clarion are eligible for the award. All recipients of the award must have previously received the rank of Commander in one of the following Orders; the Palm, the Azure Chalice, the Purpure Clarion, the Sable Axe, or the Vert Glove.

In as much as they continually serve the Barony and share their talents, they deserve to receive the highest of praise. All recipients of the award must have previously received the rank of Commander in one of the following Orders; the Palm, the Azure Chalice, the Purpure Clarion, the Sable Axe, or the Vert Glove. Order of the Palm Leaf Given by the Baron and Baroness, to those persons who have demonstrated a willingness to give ongoing service to the Barony of Atenveldt. The Palm is given to those members of our populace who have distinguished themselves by serving the Barony of Atenveldt above and beyond what is normally expected. Commander of the Palm The Commander of the Palm of Atenveldt is given by the Baron and Baroness, to those persons who have throughout the years given outstanding and faithful service, far above that normally expected of Baronial subjects. In as much as they continually serve the Barony and share their talents, they deserve to receive the highest of praise.
