Coronation allowed Us to welcome Their Majesty's Craven and Elzbieta and bid farewell to Casca and Melissa. We reveled in the pageantry of the Toreneo de Belleza and hope that next year We can see more attendance as this is a wonderful event with a great site. In June, We have Phoenix Comicon, the Barony of Twin Moons has a birthday and We are traveling to the SCA 50 year celebration in the Midrealm. For those not attending 50 year, please consider attending BTY Arts & Sciences competition or BES Dance Collegium. It will be a busy month and July looks to be just a busy with Highlands War and Our Own A&S Competition at the Barony of Granite Mountain's Collegium. We look forward to reveling with you at your next event or just spending some time with you at a practice soon. Vivat the Dream! 2 A&S CLASSES Greetings Barony of SunDragon from your baronial A&S Minister, For the month of May we had an illumination demonstration taught by Lord Xavier Drake. Our intention was to illuminate thank you cards/mini scrolls for Our lovely Excellency Gwenfrewi. We had a nice amount of participation and are grateful to the populace. For our June court night, we will be showcasing the lovely illumination done by our populace...please bring your illuminated scrolls to showcase. For our June class scheduled on the 9th, we will be learning diagonal weaving with a square loom taught by Dame Jepa at 6pm at El San Juan Mobile Home Community, N 91st Ave, Peoria, AZ Any questions, please let me know. 4 SHOVEL HISTORY In the past, reports by the Ministry of Health have notified us about the plague and the protective powers of the shovel talisman farmville2freetips.com.com KINGDOM YOUTH LESSON OF THE SHOVEL Greetings to the Youth of our Glorious Kingdom! Summer is here and with it comes the brilliance of TRM Craven and Elzbieta bearing their trusty shovel. Why a shovel you ask? Good question! Come join me as I, Lady Jacqueline de Bretaigne, travel throughout the Kingdom to bring the Lesson of the Shovel to the youth. We will discuss the meaning of the shovel and how it is used to inspire us to build and strengthen our Kingdom. Youth will participate in creating a garden tangible and digital. They will also create a shovel pendant to wear to show their unity with the Populace of the Kingdom. At this time, I will also have information and distribute materials to create our special project for TRM. Come join me for a sprinkle of learning, a dash of stardust, and bucket of fun! This plague is a nasty, smelly sort and it spreads verbally. Symptoms include: inventing lies, spreading rumors, consistently bringing up past events instead of resolving them civilly, and complaining without volunteering to help. I hope you find your talisman, wear it proudly, and ward off the dangerous plague! Do not take it in hand and please help curb people away from falling into it s behavioral trap. 5 GRANITE MOUNTAIN COLLEGEIUM & LARGESS COMPETITION Greetings Fair Atenveldt from Your Seventh Wonder, LUNCH PRE- ORDER You will be able to pre order a lunch for $5.00. Lunch is a Sack Lunch style which consists of your choice of Roast Beef, Turkey or Vegetarian sandwich, chips, and cookie. Lemonade, ice tea, and water will be provided. An order doc will be posted on the event page to pre order your sack lunch. Order needs to be made and paid for by July 23rd. 6 SunDragon s A&S Championship and Showcase in July! Once again our barony will combine artistic forces with our cousins in the Barony of Granite Mountain as they host their Collegium while we will host a showcase of the arts while also receiving our new Arts & Sciences Champion! A&S Showcase: Everyone is welcome to enter! There will be a separate youth division. Documentation is not required for the mature or youth divisions, but it is nice to see and it is good practice. In each division, a winner will be determined based on a Peer votes and another winner based on populace votes. Multiple entries are welcomed but they must be separate from the SunDragon A&S Championship competitions, so please make something extra! SunDragon s Baronial Youth Arts & Sciences Championship will be hosted by our current SunDragon Youth A&S Champion, m'lady Grace of SunDragon. Youths should create two projects with documentation for each. An entry in this competition cannot be entered into the showcase, so make and bring an extra item! SunDragon s Baronial Arts & Sciences Championship will be hosted by our current SunDragon A&S Champion, Lady Kandace Van de Libel. This is an excellent way for you to be a part of promoting A&S in the Barony and Kingdom! All ability levels can compete! Your challenge is to produce three entries from three different categories displaying your range of study & creativity. One of your items Save the DATE! July 30, 2016 American Heritage Academy 2030 E Cherry St, Cottonwood, AZ should be a largess gift that will be given to the Baroness & Baron of SunDragon at the end of the day. Emphasis of this largess entry will be placed on the quality rather than quantity (e.g., one gift of involved metal work VS a set of three handcrafted essential oils). All three entries will need your best attempt at documentation for each & Kingdom A&S forms will be used to judge the entries. The Baroness and Baron, judges, and populace may have a few questions about your projects so please be prepared. 7 JUNE ARCHERY TOURNAMENT: 2nd Annual Carl Boteler Memorial Fish Shoot and Tournament. June 19th, Father's Day at El Oso Park Phoenix. We will be shooting for the cool Fish Badges. While shooting for the badges we will also be scoring for the tournament. The scoring has changed for this year's shoot. For the Gold Badge round (1 arrow) a hit on the fish (badge earned) will count as 20 points, a hit on the mounting pad of the fish will count as 5 points and a hit on the target butt will count as 2 points. For the Black badge round (5 arrows) a fish hit (badge earned) will count as 20 points, a hit on the mounting pad will count as 3 points and a hit on the butt will count as 1 point. There will also be a clout round this year (6 arrows). If you hit a fish in the "pond" you will get a special fish badge and 25 points. Any arrow inside the pond without a fish kill will be worth 10 points. Prizes this year will include one fishing themed prize and two other prizes. This will not be a garbed shoot as the temperatures are creeping up there and will be down right hot. We will start at 7:30 AM.
