2 Recreation News & Updates Check out the NEW Tent Camping at Blowing Springs Park Want a fun, economical way to entertain Park the family this spring and summer? Bring the kids and your tent and try a night or two camping the old fashioned way. We have 12 sites available at Blowing Springs Park --- each site comes with a picnic table, camp fire pit and parking spot. No water or electric is available immediate to these primitive spots but access is available within the park. You will also have access to the restrooms/showers. Cost is $11 per tent, per night for POA Members or $15 per tent, per night for Non-Members. Reservations are available by calling See reservation policies in the following article. Reservations now available at Blowing Springs Campground (RV Park & Tent camping) Blowing Springs Park is one of the outdoor jewels of Bella Vista and its popularity continues to grow. We re excited to announce we are now accepting reservations for both our RV spots and our new primitive tent camping spots. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Call for reservations during the hours of 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Reservations require a 1 night s stay deposit. Cancellations must be received by 3 p.m. 2 days (48 hours) prior to the date of the arrival to receive a refund. No refunds will be given for reservations on peak holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and the weeks of Craft Fair in May and October. 3 Lakes News and Updates s Derby ing Kayak Fishing Tournament A local fishing club has partnered with KBF (Kayak Bass Fishing) to host a National Trail Event where anglers from around the country will compete for cash and prizes. The Tournament headquarters is at Lake Avalon Pavilion and anglers will fish at the 5 smaller lakes between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m. Visit kayakbassfishing or for more information. The Bella Vista POA will host a kids fishing derby on Lake Avalon on Saturday May 27, 2017 starting at 8 a.m. Channel catfish will be provided by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The event is open to children from 3 to 15 years of age. Parents providing assistance do not need a fishing license as long as the child reels in the fish. Kayak Demo Day Ozark Mountain Trading Company will host Kayak Demo Day on Lake Avalon on Saturday, June 3, The host will bring an array of kayaks for use. Over 200 on display. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to Non-Members. Heroes on the Water Heroes on the Water is a national organization that helps disabled military veterans unwind using the therapeutic qualities of fishing from kayaks. Participants receive basic kayak fishing and paddling instruction, angling clinics, and paddling classes. Participants with skill sets ranging from beginners to the most experienced paddlers are welcome. In addition to learning the basics, you will be guided on the golf course to put skills into action in a casual, friendly setting. Spring Mixer Bella Vista Spring Mixer Tournament will be held May Open to Members and Non-Members with an entry fee of $110 per team ($55 per person); includes tee favors, range ball, soft drinks on the course, lunch on Saturday and closest to the pin and flight prizes. The 18-hole modified Scotch two-some will be played on the Kingswood and Berksdale Golf Courses with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Friday and an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday. Lunch and Awards will follow play on Saturday at Riordan Hall. A Team Scramble will be offered on Thursday, May 18. This 3:30 p.m. shotgun start at Kingswood Golf Course for a $30 per team entry fee, includes a picnic at Riordan Hall following the tournament.
