Join us for a night of fun and dancing featuring the Bella Vista Big Band. Enjoy Ballroom, Swing, and Latin music on Saturday, February 10, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Riordan Hall. The Bella Vista Big Band even has you covered if you want to learn a few steps with a free dance lesson at 7 p.m. Tickets to the dance are just $10.00 per person (cash or checks only) and can be purchased in advance at Riordan Hall or at the door the evening of February 10. A cash bar will be available with bottled water, soda and also adult beverages for those 21 and over. For more information call Riordan Hall at

2 Golf News & Updates Private Cart Registration Procedures 1. As in years past, please go to Member Services to register your private golf cart. Upon paying for your private cart, Member Services will give you a receipt and your Photo ID Membership Card. 2. You will then be required to bring your private golf cart registration receipt and your golf cart to any of Bella Vista s Pro Shops during the months of January and February. Feel free to coordinate this visit with your next round of golf. 3. The Facility Supervisor, or his/her designee in their absence, at the Pro Shop will adhere a numbered cart decal to the front left corner of your windshield. This decal number will subsequently get linked to your account in our system. 4. On March 1, Member Services will run a report to determine which accounts have paid for a private golf cart, but the decal has not yet been picked up. At this time, private cart privileges on these accounts will be suspended until the decal has been picked up at one of our five Pro Shops. Golf Assurance Program The Golf Assurance Program (GAP) is an option that may be purchased with your Annual Golf Green Fees (AGGF) at a rate of $145 a year (valid until used). When you purchase an AGGF and elect the GAP option, if you become injured or ill, you can suspend your AGGF and corresponding Seat Lease or Private Cart Registration for up to six months. As soon as you are able to play golf again or after six months, whichever comes first, your AGGF and corresponding Seat Lease or Private Cart Registration will be reinstated. Program good until used. Dogwood & Brittany Golf Courses Closed Courses will remain closed while the bunker restoration project at Dogwood continues. This improvement project will last through February 28, weather cooperating. The work involves removal of old sand and repairs to bunker drainage, installation of a new liner system and addition of new sand. Country Club Golf Course Closed February Country Club Golf Course will be closed, weather cooperating. The low water crossing at #2 will be replaced with highway grade culvert & decking crossing. Sweetheart Open - February 14 Start off your Valentine s Day with your sweetheart by participating in our Annual Couples Sweetheart Open. The 18-hole 2-Person Scramble event will begin with a 12 p.m. shotgun start at Kingswood Golf Course. Golf Expo - March 1 Bella Vista s Annual Golf Expo is at Riordan Hall from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. with the Group Leaders meeting at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Expo gives information about Bella Vista s golf groups and the opportunity to register for your favorite golf group for the year as well as a chance to talk with members of the Golf Division s staff and meet other Bella Vista Members. The 2nd Annual Bella Vista Golf Fest is a FREE event open to all golfers throughout Northwest Arkansas. The top golf manufacturers (Titleist, FootJoy, TaylorMade, Ping, Golf Buddy, Cobra, and Callaway) will be showcasing their newest equipment. They will have expert fitters along with launch monitors to help fit for the optimal ball or club selection for each individual golfer ensuring that golfers are playing with the proper equipment. Along with the golf equipment, the Bella Vista PGA staff will be hosting free golf clinics to improve your swing. Other activities happening during the event: drawing for prizes, opportunity to trade in old clubs towards your new clubs, and one-day merchandise specials at Bella Vista s 5 Golf Pro Shops. 4 Recreation News & Updates Branchwood Tours The much anticipated Branchwood Rec Center expansion and renovation is expected to start in February. Plans include an approximate 2100 square foot expansion and a major remodel of the locker rooms/restrooms and lobby. Initial work will begin on the foundation for the expanded area. During this phase of the construction, we plan to stay open as much as possible. Once we move past the foundation stage, the building will be closed for several months. During the shutdown, the Fitness Centers at Riordan and Metfield will be available. Tours will be given the second Wednesday of each month, at 4 p.m. Indoor Cycling Looking for a challenging class that will push you to new fitness heights? Our indoor cycling class will take you there - it s an interval class based on cycling drills and set to energetic music. Each class can accommodate 10 participants (first-come, first-served) and pre-registration for each class is suggested by calling the Metfield Clubhouse at (479) Metfield Clubhouse: Monday/Wednesday 5:45 6:30 p.m. Fit Blast Class is a boot camp style workout. The highly intense, interval style workout, will challenge the status quo your body knows. Includes cardio blasts, muscle confusion, sports inspired drills and functional bodyweight training. The class is led by Certified Personal Trainer, Carrie Hatfield. During his career, Jake has worked with many teams and had several teams win state championships. He has also helped numerous junior players have success and go on to play college Tennis. He s been named Arkansas Pro of the Year and PTR Member of the Year for Arkansas, and has been a Southern Cup Coach for both Arkansas and Mississippi as well as a Zonal Coach for the Southern section. Jake joins us most recently, from Centre Court in Owensboro, Kentucky, where he served as General Manager and he is excited to be coming back to Northwest Arkansas where he will once again direct a growing program. 6 Lakes News & Updates Member Services News Saturday Mornings Golf Renewals Member Services Huntley location on 51 Huntley Lane will be open for Golf Renewals, Saturday mornings 9 a.m. - Noon. Lakes Refill at Lake Avalon and Loch Lomond Lakes are scheduled to start filling February 15th. As of right now we do not expect any variation to this time line, however bad / inclement weather could cause delays. The time it takes to fill the lakes back up to full pool is completely dependent on getting rain. Gun Range News Firearms Training Classes The Arkansas Concealed Handgun Class will be at the Highlands Trap and Skeet Range. It will last roughly four hours in the class room and then we will immediately go to the Rifle/Pistol range for the live firing exercise portion of the class.
