2 News Around The Club... Dear Legend Oaks Members and Families, Welcome to our 1st digital edition of 2018 Club News. We closed 2017 with our Member Christmas party which was a fabulous and fun night with another great turnout of almost 150 members. Chef Mike and Theresia did a great job with everything and the weather was wonderful. Be sure to stop by the clubhouse and pickup your 2017 Christmas ornament which is complimentary to every member family, if you haven t already done so. We are very excited about the golf program for 2018! We should have the new indoor training center completed by the end of January, while we await spring and warmer weather to finish the driving range. We will be offering a Range Membership for those who don t currently have golf privileges. Lastly regarding golf, I hope you get the chance when it warms up to try our new golf scooter. This will indeed be a new fun way to get around the course faster and enjoy the beautiful outdoors even more. Repairs are on track at the pool complex including cracks, some new furniture and modifications to the front pergola which will bring a fresh new look this coming spring. Our 2018 calendar of events was handed out at the Member Meeting and will be loaded to our website in January, so plan early to attend your favorite events throughout the year. Please make sure to congratulate Theresia on her promotion to Assistant General Manager. She will add to her current responsibility of Membership and Events, the oversight of Food & Beverage. Along with that change we welcome Kimberly Brown to the club as our new Food & Beverage Manager. See Kimberly s bio where she was most recently working at Kiawah s Sanctuary in F&B. Over the last five years she has developed incentive programs to grow our membership, with an emphasis on getting to know each member, welcoming them to the Legend Oaks family.

3 Membership News... Congratulations Theresia! We are pleased to announce the promotion of Theresia Ware to Assistant General Manager at Legend Oaks Golf & Tennis Club! Theresia joined the Legend Oaks team in 2012 as Manager of Membership and Events. Over the last five years she has developed incentive programs to grow our membership, with an emphasis on getting to know each member, welcoming them to the Legend Oaks family. Theresia has taken the lead in continuing to improve our youth programs including our Junior Sports Summer Camp and Swim Instruction Program. Theresia has expanded Legend Oaks events to include Dine & Dance, Summer Music Series, Holiday Parties, Nine & Wine, Song Trivia, as well as her amazing annual Mother s Day Brunch and Easter Brunch, complete with an Easter Egg Hunt for the children! She gives each event at the club her personal touch including fabulous decorations and hand made center pieces capturing the theme of the day. Countless brides have seen their dream wedding come to life under Theresia s direction. Legend Oaks was voted The Knot Best of Weddings four times earning the distinction of The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame, and just announced by The Knot, Legend Oaks has received our 5th award for 2018! In addition, Theresia has created parties ranging from elegant and elaborate to casual and fun for members and guests celebrating birthdays, graduations, wedding and baby showers. Whatever the occasion, Theresia has always made it special. In her new capacity as Assistant General Manager, Theresia will assume complete responsibility of all Food & Beverage Operations as well as additional business administrative functions. Weddings offer the Club revenue that allows us to keep costs down and we do appreciate your understanding and patience during events! Our Social Events will kick off on February 14th with our Gourmet Valentine s Day Dinner (by reservation only!) followed by our Annual Chili Contest and Oyster Roast February 24th, which will include Live Music by the Watts Family Band! Kimberly has more than seven years experience in the Food and Beverage industry, most recently at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Kimberly started as a bartender/server and quickly rose to the position of manager at Damon s Bar and Grill in Hazelton, PA. After making the move to Myrtle Beach, SC, she became a Certified Trainer for the Front of the House where she was responsible for training all new employees at Landry s, Inc. Kimberly next moved into the area of Banquet and Events, where she oversaw buffet preparations while working with team members to ensure guests received food and beverage service that exceeded their expectations. She quickly moved into the position of Event Service Coordinator at Hilton Worldwide- Kingston Plantation, working with the Director of Catering and Events, the Front Office, F & B Engineering and other departments to ensure both large and small meetings and conferences met the clients needs. Kimberly also gained experience coordinating onsite wedding preparation and execution between managers and vendors, propelling her to the position of Banquet Manager/Wedding Planner. She worked closely with brides from planning to executing every detail of their wedding. Kimberly had complete responsibility for managing the staff, inventory and food ordering along with all executive, administrative and operational functions of events. After making the move to Summerville, SC, Kimberly worked for Kiawah Island Golf Resort in banquet operations before accepting the position at Legend Oaks. Kimberley, originally from Sugarloaf, PA, is married to Rob Brown, who is the General Manager at Planet Fitness in Summerville, SC. She loves to spoil her dachshund Oliver and will gladly show you pictures of him! Kim has started a new hobby recently, sewing personalized dog collars, which she really enjoys.
