RAIN OR SHINE! NO OUTSIDE FOOD/DRINKS/COOLERS! Important Summer News! It s that time of year again...the neighborhood is filled with children looking for something to do or somewhere to hang out. We welcome children at Bistro One18 for indoor or outdoor dining during business hours. However, children coming up to the Clubhouse, or any of the facilities at Legend Oaks to hang out with their friends is not allowed. For the safety of our members, guests and for your children we have a No Loitering policy which includes the Clubhouse, Tennis Courts, Golf Course and Pool. Bistro One18 is our only facility open to members and the general public. Legend Oaks offers many activities for children including Sports Camps, Swim Lessons, Golf Clinics & Tennis Clinics for children ages 6-18! We encourage you to take advantage of these programs open to members & guests. Please contact Theresia at et 103 for information on our programs!

2 News Around The Club... Dear Legend Oaks Members and Families, Welcome to our sixth digital edition of Club News of 2018 While summer is just around the corner on the calendar it definitely feels like it is here. There is something going on for everyone. Over the last month we have had Mothers Day Brunch, Dining Under the Oaks, Singles Match Play Finals, Golf Member Invitational, The Dave Scott Memorial Tournament and lots of Trivia. Our swim team is ready for the start of the season after much practice in May, with its first match here June 5 th. I would like to remind everyone about what s ahead in June including; the first 2018 HOA Summer Music Series, as FAT Alice returns from last year. Also on the social side is Song Trivia. We also have our first WTT format tennis social event, which should be great fun. We are starting the Summer Sports Camp next week along with swim instruction. There are still spots available so sign up now before its too late. In golf we have a couples championship event and US Open pick your partner event. Also related to golf we expect to be opening the driving range in June. As most have noticed the major construction is complete and we are adding details. We will be opening the range in a irons only format for a period of time as we want to monitor the safety of the golfers on the first and eighteenth holes. As we get actual results we will hopefully lift the irons only restriction. Another construction project that has been long in the planning stage is our new flagpole and memorial area. We have installed the pole and we are scheduled to complete the lighting and landscaping before the memorial bricks arrive later in the month. The plan is to be fully completed by the end of June. 3 Membership News... Excitement is in the air here at Legend Oaks! Summer has arrived and children are out of school. Congratulations to our employees Hannah Ribelin and Tyler Harbert! They are both 2018 Ashley Ridge Graduates! Hannah will be attending Clemson and Tyler will be attending USC in the fall! We wish you both the Best! Summer sparks visions of spending time with family and friends. We are also pre-paring for Summer with activities for all ages with the following: Summer Camps: Camp offers a time to learn or perfect the skills of Golf & Tennis, build endurance and agility while forming relationships that your child will remember a lifetime. Lunch, camper gift, and open swim also included. We also offer programs running through the Summer that will focus on improving the skills in just Tennis or Golf with Coach Bryant Mckee or Coach Gowan! Swim Lessons: The gift of water safety will be a valued skill used throughout life. Madi Baroody will be returning as our Swim Coach. We will be offering weekly sessions starting June 4th, and running through July 30th for children and adults. Call the Membership & Events Ext 103 to register. Swim Team: We appreciate the partnership of The LOST Swim Team and encourage your support for their four home swim meets that will take place on June 5th, 7th, 21st, and 28th. The Team consists of Legend Oaks children who are learning a lifetime sport. LOST is an important part of our active community. Yoga: Need some time for yourself to unwind? Karen Ewens is sharing her 10 years of experience as a 500 RYT Yoga instructor here at Legend Oaks on Mondays at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 9:30 am. Summer Music Series: The Bands are scheduled through the Summer! All HOA s are invited to enjoy the sounds of our first in the Series, FAT ALICE on June 16th, at 6 pm in the Pavilion. Bar and food will be available for purchase. We are looking forward to a safe and fun season at the Pool! Pool attendants will be on Pool deck on 2018 Pool Membership Only $500+tax including Initiation Fee! Must Join by 6/15/18! New Homeowners Special! ½ Off Initiation Fee for Any Membership! Here are a few below! Glass of any kind and smoking are prohibited in water or on the deck! Children must be 14 or older to be at the pool alone. Climbing, Jumping, or Diving off the Pergolas is prohibited! Violations of the pool rules will result in Membership Suspension. 4 Hello Golfers! Golf News I hope that you all had a great month of May! At Legend Oaks we had some fantastic events with great participation. Congratulations to Glenn Powell our 2018 Singles Matchplay Champion! We had 42 players participate in the event, which made a very strong field for bracket competition. Congratulations to Jared Klein and Fred Dolloff our 2018 Member Invitational Champions. The Friday afternoon shootout was an awesome spectacle. Thank you to all 34 teams that played in the event. Team Payout for Member Invitational 1 st - $415 2 nd - $250 3 rd - $170 I am very pleased to announce that we have 17 players signed up for the Junior Interclub! The season begins the first week in June and we still have a few spots open. Junior golf is a huge passion of mine and I am very happy to see a steady growth. Lastly, I would like to comment on our recent Dave Scott Memorial Golf Tournament. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported such a great event. We had 78 golfers and 120 guests for dinner. Our Legend Oaks Team worked very hard to make this such a special event for Marie and I believe we were very successful. Thank you for your continued support in our events! The goal is to eliminate fear, learn to blow bubbles, breathe to the side, kick and float. (Private Instruction Only!) Level 2 - Freestyle and Backstroke will be the focus. These techniques along with a few drills will help set up a base for endurance while building strength. Coordination and locomotion are key concepts. Level 3 - Transition phase with stroke development being the objective. Greater endurance levels will be built through longer yardage. Stroke progression of all strokes will be covered. Freestyle and backstroke turns will be presented. Level 4 - Coordination and fluency are the objective. Good transition turns and technique are the main focus. Fine tuning of a swimmer s weak areas and increasing yardage are the goal.
