This is always a fun event, you get to sit where you want. As a reminder, please remember to make dining reservations. It helps to guarantee you a table as well as ensuring proper staffing. Kelly Greens Turkey Drive Thank you to our members and employees who donated to the Kelly Greens Turkey Drive for the Gladiolus Food Pantry. Because of you we collected 57 turkeys and $1440 which surpassed what we collected last year.

These pavers, when installed, will enhance the area around the monument honoring our military members and veterans. Stop by and take a close look at the area right next to the starter shack and driving range. We can even design a gift card you can give to your veteran. The price is $150.00, or only $ if you have previously purchased a Legacy Paver. Order forms are available in the Executive Office. ROAD SAFETY REMINDERS AT KELLY GREENS Driving - Please observe the 25-m.p.h. speed limit and all stop signs. Also, please be mindful and respectful of walkers and bicyclists on the roadways. Walking - Please walk on sidewalks wherever they are available. In the absence of sidewalks, walk single file, close to the curb, facing oncoming traffic. Jogging, Running & Rollerblading - It is far safer to use the sidewalks wherever they are available. If sidewalks are not present or you feel you must jog, run or rollerblade on our streets, please do so single file, close to the curb, facing oncoming traffic. Bicycling - Please ride in the street, single file, close to the curb, in the same direction as traffic. Helmets strongly urged. Bicyclists and walkers are required to use the pedestrian gates located at every entrance. Keys are available for purchase in the Kelly Greens Executive Office for $ The office is open Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. If you already have a pedestrian gate key it will still work, no need for a new one.

8 P A G E 8 GOLF Kelly Greens Golf and Country Club is proud to participate in the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP) for golf courses and is committed to environmental stewardship. The ACSP is an award winning education and certification program that helps golf courses protect the environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. The ACSP helps golf courses and their golfers enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf operations, and serves as vital resource for golf courses. By implementing and documenting a full complement of environmental management practices, a course earns designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Some areas addressed by the ACSP are: Environmental planning Wildlife and habitat management Chemical use, reduction and safety Water conservation Water quality management Outreach and education Receiving certification demonstrates leadership as a steward of the environment and publicly recognizes and rewards environmental achievements. The ACSP's goal is to encourage golf courses to be environmental stewards and to certify golf courses that meet or exceed stringent ACSP environmental requirements. Birdhouses, butterfly gardens (#13), littorals, and natural areas are some of the visible signs of designed wildlife habitats you will see throughout our golf course. These wildlife and habitat management areas are intended to attract and preserve wildlife.

9 P A G E 9 GOLF From the Golf Shop For the next few weeks, we will be exploring Golf's New Rules changes for 2019 Golf's New Rules: Pace of play improvements. 1. Make a stroke in 40 seconds or less. 2. Playing out of turn to save time, also known as ready golf, is encouraged. 3. Max Score, a new stroke-play format allowing the Committee to set a Maximum score for a hole (More on this later) 4. If your putt hits an unattended flagstick in the hole, there will be no penalty. 12 P A G E 12 GOLF As we welcome everyone back to Kelly Greens for another season, please be reminded there has been changes made to our Golf Handicap System. Kelly Greens is now using the GHIN System. Many of you use the same system at your summer location. If you plan to participate in any Kelly Greens Club Tournaments or Leagues (Not Men s 9 or Couples leagues), you must link your current GHIN number to KG. If you do not have a GHIN number you will need to establish one. In both instances, please contact the Golf Shop for direction. The club incurs a cost from the USGA for each active member in our system as does your summer location. If you plan to just play Fun Golf and do not require the handicap needed to play in KG Tournaments/Leagues, please advise the Golf Shop and be added to the inactive list, incurring no annual charges. It is a win-win, you have fun and the club saves money. Dress Code Please review dress code (including no cargo shorts, men shirts tucked in) in your community directory. We especially do not want to draw attention to any of your guests who may not be aware. Please remind your guests. Bag Storage Members As you may remember in the past, some golf bags were chewed by rodents trying to get to the food/candy stored in pockets. Please remove any and all temptations from your golf bag. DIVOTS AND BALL MARKS are all golfers responsibility. Please fix & fill. Share with your guests so we may keep our golf course in great condition. With Thanksgiving week behind us, the team tennis schedules are back in full swing. The Ladies 2.5 must have eaten well during Thanksgiving because they over to Heritage Palms and split with a good team! I m so happy they got their first wins of the season as they have been short every week so far. The 3.5 minus continued to impress as even though they split, the lost This team was not supposed to be winning as most are underrated on this team, but they have really shined! Great playing ladies! Every year our ladies have to play on one of the hard court facilities. This week was our Bronze team s turn. They lost all 4 courts to Cape Coral Yacht Club. I m just happy that no one was injured as this happens frequently. The Nickel and Silver don t play until this is published, so I ll report on those teams next week. The men on the Men s White B is having some growing pains so far. I m not worried, but they will get it together. They only managed 1 win at Gulf Harbour, but two of the courts were close. The new Men s Blue B only managed one win. As for our men s 70+ teams, they have been on a roll! Our Gold team, captained by Dick Terwillinger swept Pelican Preserve and are currently leading their division. The Brass team, captained by Al Rutledge, took 3 of 4 courts. They are tied for 2 nd place. Great job guys! Mixed is currently in 3 rd place even after being swept by Estero Country Club. Our team has been both hot and cold all season. If you want to participate in the clinics, the sign up is on the large White Board by Court 1. The clinics will be $15 per person. I wish to limit the clinics to 4-6 per court. If necessary, I will bring in pros if we have too many signed up. The ladies may sign up for Monday, Wednesday, or Friday clinics. Men s Clinic is on Thursday at 10 am. Most captains will let you know which clinic will be best for you. Private lessons will be $65 per hour for members and $70 per hour for non-members.
