7 GOLF AND PRO SHOP NEWS... Note From The Pro The season is about to kick off and the professional staff could not be more excited to see everyone returning to regular play. We kick off a few new programs for this month so be sure to review the information below so you are ready for the fun and excitement ahead! Happy Golfing, Justin Van Heukelom, PGA Head Golf Professional Note From The Learning Center Spring is around the corner and if you re like me, we re ready to see the ball fly! I wanted to take some time to give you a strategy that can jumpstart your season this year. Below you ll find some tips to follow that will make your transition into summer golf quicker and easier. - Start with the short game: Any more we have ample opportunities to practice our full swing throughout the winter. Whether in a hitting bay, at a heated range or in our living rooms we can have a feeling of what to do during a full swing. It s important, however, to get a feel for the turf we re hitting off of once we take away club head speed and hit shorter shots. TIP: Try hitting the same length shot with different clubs in your bag to get a feel for the turf with different clubs and club head speeds. - Go back to the basics: If we haven t picked a club up in a while, early in the spring is not the right time to start making changes all on our own. Focus on the fundamentals to ensure that you are setting yourself up to hit quality shots before the club is even taken away. TIP: Lay down two sticks, one next to the ball and the other next to your feet with a mirror at your back shoulder. Ensure your body (feet, knees, hips, shoulders and forearms) are lined up with the line closest to your body and the club is lined up to the stick closest to your ball. Alignment more than anything else will affect posture, shot direction and more. - Play golf: Playing golf is the fastest and easiest way to find out which part of your game is lacking and what to practice. TIP: Play as much golf as you can and keep statistics like fairways hit, greens hit, up and downs, and putts. This will paint a picture of what kind of shape your game is in. I hope these tips help you start your season off right and as always I am here to help. Schedule a time and I can help you develop a plan to start your season off right. Happy Golfing, Ben Bastel, PGA Director of Player Development

They will play 1 no-ad set(with a no-ad tiebreaker at 6-6) with each player on their court for a total of 3 sets. We will record scores every week and try to place players on a court based on their previous results (we understand that not everyone will attend every week but will do our best to ensure good match-ups). To be able to achieve structured match-ups every week, we will NOT ALLOW DROP INS. Sign-ups are mandatory! We will have staff play in on nights we don t have even numbers. Each player will receive a free beer each week they play. Cost is FREE! Men s 4.0/4.5 Singles League. 8:30-10pm (players can show up at 8 and play on a lighted clay court as soon as one opens). We need 4-8 players to commit to playing in a 6 week league. League will begin May 28 and end on July 2. If we have enough interest we will run another session of the league from July 9th thru August 27. Players will play a 9 game no-ad Pro Set every week. Cost is $4.
