The pool will open on Saturday, May 23 rd for the season. Wine of the Month News From the Golf Shop Member Appreciation Golf Tournament May will be full of opportuni es for you and your family to have fun and make memories at the Club. We will start with the Annual Stockholders mee ng on the 9 th, followed by a pre symphony prime rib dinner special. Then a great Mother s Day Buffet on the 10 th. The Birthday Lunch Buffet and the Argen nian Wine Dinner are on the 14 th. We will end the month with a Pool Opening Day Party on Saturday the 23 rd. Please check elsewhere in this newsle er for addi onal details on all the above. Pre-Concert Symphony Dinner Pool Opening Day Party Our Wine of the Month for May is a wonderful Malbec wine from Argen na called Kaiken Malbec Reserva. Dine at the Club and enjoy a glass. Pool & Cove Schedules Diving Board Rules Kids Summer Camp One exci ng announcement for our Club is the arrival in May of our new golf cart fleet. We have increased the number of carts in the fleet while saving the Club some money on the annual cost. Best Friends Day Argentinian Wine Dinner We had a very good and successful year for the Club mostly due to your support and guidance that do make a difference. 2 PAGE 2 Women s Golf Association News We are indebted to Will Hartenstein, our Golf Professional, and the addi onal staff at the El Dorado Golf & Country Club for making the ABCD Scramble a total success! We had 52 players arrive on April 21st and Will, as always, was amazing with the pairings, carts, rules, and scoreboards. Will greeted players and welcomed them to the course. He represents the friendliness and efficiency of the club with an awesome ability and gentle spirit making the event a great golfing day. Hopefully, this will encourage out of town players to return for the Ladies Fall Invita onal in October. Thank you to the Chairpersons for their hard work and ensuring our Round Robin to be a wonderful success: Linda Hays, Tournament; Jaunita Pyle, Social; Peggy McLarty, Prize; Jean Williams, Publicity and Virginia Frisby, Treasurer and in charge of registra on. It takes an organiza on when tournaments are planned and executed and the is a great suppor ng group. The golfer for the month of April is Jaunita Pyle. She has been a member of the for many years serving as a past President, Yearbook chairperson, and currently in Social chairperson. A much suppor ng member, Jaunita lives in Smackover and yet maintains an ac ve membership with our group, too. Thank you Jaunita for your loyalty to the El Dorado. I enjoy playing with you immensely! Margaret Marsh, President Wine of the Month Kaiken Malbec 2012, Reserva Glass: $7 Bottle: $27 Deep violet color, warm in the nose, with notes of ripe fruit and traces of tobacco and bu erscotch. 3 News From the Golf Shop PAGE 3 May is here and the weather is finally starting to come around. Some warm days are fortunately coming our way, which means summer is almost here. The golf shop is full of new golf equipment to come check out! The 2015 TaylorMade, Callaway, and PING DEMO clubs have already arrived. Come by and try them out! The winners were: JENNIFER EDSON, SHERRI CARSON, STACEY DAVIS, & TERESA ECHOLS We hosted the SERVICE LEAGUE GOLF TOURNAMENT this past month. It was very successful and everyone had a great time! Congratulations to this years champions: LEE WARDEN & CRAIG KNOX I want to thank everyone that played in the event this year and made this tournament a real joy and success, and we look forward to hosting again in UPCOMING GOLF EVENTS: GOLF COURSE GREENS AERIFICATION Sunday May 3 rd (Evening) MEMBER APPRECIATION TOURNAMENT Saturday JUNE 13 TH CARTER CUP Tuesday & Wednesday JUNE 16 th & 17 th OIL BELT 4 BALL Saturday & Sunday JUNE 20 th & 21 st The Golf Course Putting Greens will be Aerified May 3 rd Sunday evening. The golf course greens will have holes punched in them and filled with sand. The golf course will still be open for play, but the greens will not be at their best for about 3 weeks while they recover. A reminder to our golfers please try to keep the golf carts on the paths around the tee boxes and greens, fill your divots, and fix your ball marks to help us keep the golf course in good playing condition throughout the year. 5 Summer 2015 Pool Schedule Due to the El Dorado Public Schools making up snow days, we have adjusted the schedule to reflect their dates. May 23rd 25th May 30th 31st June 3rd August 16th for regular hours August 22nd 23rd August 29th 30th September 5th 7th Pool & Cove Hours: Monday CLOSED Tuesday Saturday 11:00am 7:00PM Sunday 1:00PM 6:00PM Cove will close an hour before the Pool Lifeguards will stay un l 9:00PM if members are present 1. No twis ng or jumping off the side of diving board. Diving Board and Deep End Rules 2. No floa es, floats, masks, or fins allowed in the diving well. 3. One at a me on the board. 4. Wait un l the person in front of you swims to the ladder before you go off the board. 5. Jump straight off the board, not to the side. 6. No swimming in the diving well while people are going off the board. Lifeguards can shut down the diving board so that games can be played in the diving well. 7. No horseplay, cartwheels, handstands, si ng or hanging on the board. 8. Don t sit, hang, or pull on the buoy line.
