5 N e i g h b o r h o o d W a t c h Approximately seventy percent of all Eagle Harbor neighborhoods have organized, trained and are participating in our Eagle Harbor Neighborhood Watch. They can be identified by the Neighborhood Watch signs posted at their entrance. There are still twelve neighborhoods that are not participating. They are Bridgewater, Brookstone, Country Walk, Daniels's Landing, Eagle Watch, Harbor Lake, Hawk's Nest, Lookout Landing, Players Club, Rivergate, Waters Edge and Woodlake. The Clay County Sheriff's Office states that a Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective and least costly ways to prevent crime. Besides working together to keep our neighborhoods safe and secure, our Eagle Harbor Neighborhood Watch goes one step further. The Neighborhood Watch sponsors windshield stickers to help residents identify non resident vehicles in the area. The Neighborhood Watch costs nothing and it helps to make your neighborhood safer. Help is provided to get started. It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your neighbors. The knowledge that your neighbor is looking out for your safety is reassuring. The Neighborhood Watch can spark a stronger community spirit. Still unsure? A R C Remember those old adages about safety in numbers and knowledge is power. Still unsure? Contact Susanne Morris, the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator to answer questions or to help you get started. Find more information at The Bike Rodeo was a huge success with over 50 participants. Photo by Karen McCarthy Eagle Harbor is a unique and beautiful community, created to enhance the lives of its residents by coupling the preservation of nature with state of the art amenities. From the wide winding sidewalk down Eagle Harbor Parkway to the many residential parks put in place for the enjoyment of families and children. Residents of Eagle Harbor have many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. It can be disheartening to see or hear about those who disregard the value of our community through lack of effort, lack of responsibility or negligence. FR035A. It is also unfortunate that some choose to vandalize community property, the same community which was created for their benefit. Let us not forget that this is OUR community and though the vision began at the hand of the developer it is now in OUR hands. It is OUR responsibility to take care of our community. There are many simple things you can do that will make a BIG difference in the overall appearance of your neighborhood and the community as a whole. Consider the following: If there is trash in the pond/lake take a minute to remove it. Keep streets looking their best by edging and mowing your lawn weekly. Clean out your garage and get organized! Move cars into the garage overnight therefore allowing driveway space for guests to park. Be considerate of others. Don t use street parking as a permanent parking solution. Street parking is hazardous to children walking or riding their bikes throughout the neighborhood as well as those navigating their vehicles. Utilize your garage and driveway for daily parking needs. Store any temporary items not in use in the garage or out of view of others such as, ladders, trash cans, small temporary play equipment, wheel barrels, etc. Trash and yard waste should be placed curbside no more than 24hrs in advance of pickup and waste bins and trash cans www. Eagle Harbor Online. com should be returned to the garage or placed out of view that evening. We all love our pets, they are a part of our family. Please remember according to the Covenants and Restrictions Article V Section 8, no pet shall be allowed to run at large and no more than a total of four dogs and/or cats, combined may be kept within any dwelling unit. Lastly, when walking your pet please be a courteous neighbor and pick up after your pet while on your walk. Remember it s YOUR community! 55 5
