1 WOODVILLE HOCKEY CLUB Woodpecker Welcome to the fifth edition of the Wood pecker for It has been found in the past that such a publication has been invaluable to people who do not have access to either website or face book. It is hoped that during 2018 that team results, social activities, events and general news can be distributed via this format. Wood pecker will be available via website and in had copy from team managers. Please send any articles /news to membership@woodvillehockeyclub.com.au AROUND THE CLUB Grants Information Publisher Ian Johnson membership@woodvillehockeyclub.com.au We were successful in our application to the Charles Sturt Community Green Buildings Program grant. We asked for more than $8000 to go towards new fridges for the club. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Council for this grant and for their ongoing support. Unfortunately we were not successful with the Stockland Grant for $1000 for a new Honour Board. 2 Page 2 ONE CLUB CULTURE Woodpecker Congratulations to all involved at Woodville Hockey Club for their commitment and enthusiasm towards the workshop conducted by Steve Newman, a Performance and Culture Specialist, who works with many sporting clubs in South Australia to help build cultures they can be proud of. This workshop for all is to help design our Club Values. Steve is very excited to be working with a highly engaged committee and the players, coaches, volunteers and members. By the way the juniors who participated were exceptional! What next? The management committee is meeting next week to analyse all information collected at this workshop and will advise all on outcomes and then conduct another information sharing session over the next few weeks. At this session we will decide the Core Values that all at the club will follow. STAY TUNED.
