His wife Nancy and Mr. & Mrs. Bill Brown witnessed the ace. Congratulations to Nancy Tegeler who had a hole in one on the 8th hole at Winghaven on August 20, 2012 playing in a charity event foursome with her husband Tim and Mike & Rita Mooney. Nancy used a 7 wood for the 117 yard shot. Another summer gone! I have to say that I am not sorry to see it go if it means that we will be having some decent weather and better temperatures, for that I am grateful! September brings a very busy month of member events. To kick off the month we have the return of the competitive Jr./Sr. to the holiday weekend events and the annual closing pool party on Sunday, September 2 nd. There is a men s guest day on Friday, September 7 th that is always well attended and allows members to bring guests to show off their course. Sunday, September 9 th we have the Battle of the Sexes, which pairs men vs. women (non spouses) against each other for fun competition! Finally, September ends with the Powwow golf tournament that is a great weekend event and a tradition at Algonquin. 6 Chip von Doersten Memorial Member/Member Congratulations to Mike Mooney &Tom Hibbs for winning the Member/Member August The duo employed some impressive strategy in the alternate shot shootout outlasting Tom A. Moore & Doug Woodruff who finished second and Tom Tangaro & Chip Freund who rounded out the top three. The winners needed an extra hole of sudden death overtime to win the event. A special thanks to Debbie von Doersten Glynn who was on hand to present the trophy to the Champions.
