3 Meet the Managers Karian (Kari) Tjader Director of Pools and Waterpark Operations In 2005, my career started as a lifeguard at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Chicago, IL. Shortly after my first year, I was promoted to Training Supervisor and continued to train and manage a team of 300+ lifeguards. My career has taken me to numerous resorts and has allowed me to travel all over the world, including locations such as Dubai. Most recently, I served as the Director of Operations over Food and Beverage and the Water Resort at Coco Key Orlando. I also serve on the World Waterpark Association's Water Resort Committee as the Vice Chair and have written many articles for their publication as well as spoken at their annual symposium for many years. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, working out, and learning to cook new things. I am a coach for Beachbody and recently became a certified PiYo Instructor. While I have no children of my own, I am the favorite aunt to ten nieces and nephews, many who live in Chicago. I am an avid Chicago Cubs fan and could not be happier to say that I have seen them win a World Series in my lifetime! Gabriela (Gaby) Serhan Director of Guest Services I am a graduate of Florida International University and Miami Dade College with a degree in Hospitality Management. I have an extensive hospitality background with knowledge of Human Resources, Housekeeping, and Front Desk operations. Before joining the team here at Reunion Resort, I previously served as the Director of Guest Services at The Crowne Plaza Orlando Universal. I am a mother to two handsome boys: Sebastian, 14, and Tristan, who is turning 2 in July. I am also very happily married to my husband David, and a proud owner of an American Bulldog named Cody. David and I are both die-hard University of Miami fans and in our spare time we enjoy going to the Disney theme parks with our family and supporting Sebastian with his sporting events. My favorite foods include pepperoni pizza, hummus, and my husband's Cuban burgers. I have been lucky enough to travel to remote destinations such as Dubai, Lebanon, Paris, and the Caribbean Isles. gatherings 3

4 Father s Day US Open Scramble For the Father s Day US Open Scramble, teams were comprised of four players, with each player picking a professional playing in the US Open that day. The team s scramble score, added into the score the PGA Tour player shoots that day, gives our teams their final score. Our winning team was Jeff Davis and his three guests, with a score of 59, paired with the following players they picked; Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama, and Brooks Koepka. Congratulations to our winner, and thanks to all of our members and guests coming out to celebrate Father s Day. We look forward to seeing you again next year for another great turnout! 11 Inside THE LINES Differences between Eastern and Semi-Western Grips A common question among tennis players is What grip should I be using? There is no simple answer to this question, but there are definitely some options that make for easier shot selection, as well as transitions. Before talking about grip names and hand placement, you must first understand how a grip looks on a tennis racquet. No matter which brand of racquet you use, whether it is Head, Prince, Wilson, Babalot, or any other brand, the handle always has 8 sides to it. When referring to grips, you must visualize a racket with the strings facing outward towards the court. When doing this, the top bevel of the handle is considered to be bevel 1. Eastern Grip gives you a little spin with the contact point being a little deeper into your body. * Index knuckle is on bevel 3 and your fat pad is located on bevel 2 Semi-Western Grip more natural top spin with the contact point being further in front of you. * Your index knuckle is on bevel 4 and your fat pad is on bevel 3 gatherings 11

24 WATER PARK ACCESS WATER PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS gatherings 24 Members, Resort Guests, Partner Program Guests and Houseguests with RED ink cards: Complimentary Houseguests with BLACK ink cards: Adult- $18; Child- $12 per day Houseguest cards and a valid ID matching the name on the Houseguest card required for admission (driver s license or passport) Registered Houseguests may not have accompanied guests Members must accompany all guests without Houseguest cards while at the Water Park at all times Guests with Reunion Members: up to 4 complimentary accompanied guests per Membership per day; additional guests $10 per person per day Accompanied Resort Guests: $30 per person per day Accompanied Wyndham Vacation Guests: $30 per person per day Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older Member Cards, Room Cards or Houseguest cards are required for admission Water Park is not open to the public No outside food or beverages permitted in the Water Park (No Exceptions) No food or drinks are permitted in the pool No private coolers permitted All pool towels must remain in the park at all times Height requirement to ride main slide is 42 NO SMOKING
