1 Futurity Maturity 2019 Sand Cup Event Rules Futurity is open to any horse that is a foal of 2014 or younger. If the horse is registered, send a copy of both sides of registration papers. Unregistered horses must show proof of age by obtaining a veterinarian s affidavit. Papers must accompany entry. To enter the futurity, a horse must never have competed in a barrel race prior to December 1, This excludes time only and exhibition runs. Futurity horses may compete in any race after December 1, Failure to comply with this rule will result in elimination from the futurity and forfeiture of entry fees. Maturity horses can be 5, 6, or 7 years old. A copy of registration papers or veterinarian s affidavit of age must accompany entry. May run horse more than one year. to all riders. May ride more than one horse. Western wear required including long-sleeved shirts, cowboy boots and hats. An electric timer will be used. Ground will be tractor raked every five entries. Substitutions and buy-outs will be allowed with no charge until March 15. After that date a $75 fee will be charged. NO REFUNDS. Futurity and Maturity horses may into the 5-D $1,500 added races on & by paying open fee and office fee, no late fee will apply regardless of when to open entry is submitted. Futurity Payoff: Two go s and an average will be paid. Pot will be split into equal thirds between go s and average. 2D Side Pot: Two go s and an average will be paid on times one second off of the fastest futurity time and 1/2 second off of fastest Maturity time. Payoff: All Futurity/Maturity pots will be paid on 2 go s and an average. 20% office fee deducted in all pots. Bonus Money PESI = $2,000 paid on Futurity Average $1,500 paid to Maturity Average $500 paid in each 5D [Horse ened in PESI Program and ridden by WPRA member. Registered name and WPRA# are required] Future Fortunes = $10,000 Bonus Money paid in Saturday 5D, paid in a 4D format. [Must send in copy of registration papers, Future Fortunes Entry form and attached to entry] Triple Crown = $5000 Bonus Money paid to Futurity. [Must send in copy of registration papers, Triple Crown Entry form and attached to entry] BFI = BRN4D Incentive Fund pays money to the fastest average Futurity and Derby horse that is ened in the BIF based on 2019 funds. To be eligible for Average Awards, you must be entered in all three open races.
