Taking into account the circumstances, Stewards took no action against M Walker for having to be replaced on Edge of Mandala. Race 1 KILLAWARRA KENNELS SV 3YO FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE metres: The start of this race was delayed by two minutes to avoid a clash with Gosford Thoroughbred races. On jumping away Slovenia slipped behind and as a result lost ground. Slovenia then raced wide in the early and middle stages. Turf Cutter Girl was slow to begin. Approaching the 900m Turf Cutter Girl had to be eased off the heels of La Bella Blue, which shifted in. Pretty In The Sky hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. Trainer John Whitelaw was advised that a warning would be placed again Pretty In The Sky for it racing manners today and notified that should the filly behave in a similar manner in the future, further action may be taken. Nicamorae laid in in the straight, then passing the 200m brush with La Bella Blue when that filly shifted out.

2 Brian Park, rider of Turf Cutter Girl, which performed below market expectations, stated that the filly raced greenly throughout and in his opinion may not have been suited to today s track conditions (Slow 6). Race 2 MEADOWS AGISTMENT MAIDEN PLATE metres: Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason for trainer David Hayes failing to lodge a Horse Movement Form for Great Esteem, when that gelding was moved from his Flemington Stables to his Euroa Stables on Thursday 3 April Tom Dabernig, stable representative for David Hayes, stated that the horse was entered for Cranbourne Friday 4 April however due to the barrier draw they elected to run today at Wangaratta and as such moved the horse in closer proximity to Wangaratta and, due to the time constraints, had failed to lodge the necessary Horse Movement Form. After considering all the circumstances and taking into account David Hayes good record in relation to this matter Steward severally reprimanded David Hayes under the provisions of LR27A for failing to lodge a Horse Movement Form. Rocky N bullwinkle and Torcan were both slow to begin Approaching the 1400m Dilkara shifted out abruptly resulting in Alakris being taken wider on the track. From this point Dilkara raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Dale Smith, rider of Alakris, then elected to restrain and take up a position at the rear of the field instead of being caught wide for the remainder of the event. On straightening Alakris laid out under pressure bumping with Cynical, taking that gelding out off its rightful line for a short distance. Robert Beattie, rider of Dilkara, reported that the gelding got its tongue over the bit during the event. Race 3 WINSEC SAVINGS & LOANS MAIDEN PLATE metres: Jordan Childs, rider of Maison Man, was reprimanded under the provisions of AR92(10) for not presenting his winning rides book to the Stewards. Harry Hoodoo, which was slightly slow to begin, was tightened for room and had to be eased shortly after the start. Approaching the 800m Harry Hoodoo shifted in off the heels of The Schnozz and in doing so brush Maison Man, unbalancing both geldings. Clanga s Kroo raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Passing the winning post Purple Cowboy shifted in brushing The Schnozz, unbalancing that colt. Passing the 150m Arnidan dipped in the going. Race 4 PINKERTON SECURITY 0 58 HANDICAP metres: Craig Dickson, trainer of Montana Man, was fined the sum of $50 under the provisions of AR140A for presenting the gelding in the mounting yard with incorrect gear. 3 Michael Walker, rider of Monsieur Pierre, when questioned in relation to taking up position worse than midfield, which is contrary to the gelding s normal racing pattern, stated that the gelding was beaten for early speed and when approaching the home turn and in the home straight he was blocked for several runs behind Ewenfire, initially and then when he attempted to shift to the inside of Speedastro he was again held up when unable to obtain clear running and as a result the gelding went to the line without being fully tested. A post-race veterinary examination of Emconi, revealed the filly had recovered from racing more slowly than expected. Dale Smith, rider of Speedastro, which performed below market expectations, state that in his opinion gelding made an unusual respiratory noise during the event and failed to run on. A post-race veterinary examination of Speedastro revealed no abnormalities. Race 5 MURACA ELECTRICAL BM70 HANDICAP metres: Bangatang and Lika Shadow were both slow to begin. Passing the 200m Tequila Queen had to be eased, when weakening, off the heels of Better Be Sure, which had been carried out by Miss Del Toro. Regan Bayliss, rider of Bangatang, was fined the sum of $400, under the provisions of AR137A(5)a(ii), for using his whip in a forehand manner on seven occasions prior to the 100m. M. Walker, rider of Beyond Infinity which performed below market expectations, stated that after beginning well and leading, the gelding compounded quickly upon entering the home straight and that he was of the belief that there may be something amiss with Beyond Infinity. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Race 6 A & J PERKINS BUILDERS BM64 HANDICAP metres: Prior to the running of this event Tom Dabernig, stable representative for trainer David Hayes, notified Stewards that it was their intention to have Love Of Liberty race in a more handy position, similar to its most recent start. Love Of Liberty settled third. Siegestor was held up rounding the home turn and laid in in the home straight. Krase was held up rounding the home turn and the home straight until passing the 150m. Near the 150m Soul Glo had to be checked by its rider when Love Of Liberty (Jye McNeil) shifted ground outwards and Ready Zuca, which was momentarily carried in by More Rewarding. Jye McNeil was severally reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift ground when not sufficiently clear of other runners. Mark Pegus, rider of Precocious Ness, when questioned in relation to the reason he settled further back in the field today compared to the mare s most recent start, stated that Precocious Ness could not go with the fast early speed of today s event and as a result settled midfield. Linda Meech, rider of Stellarized, stated that in her opinion the gelding would take benefit from having blinkers as part of its approved gear. Steven King, rider of Siegestor, was advised to make sure that he rides all his mounts out fully to the line. Stewards took no further action as they were of the belief that Steven King s actions did not affect the final race placing s.

4 Race 7 INSITE REAL ESTATE 0 58 HANDICAP metres: Ernie Marchant, rider of Edge Of Mandala, was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR120(b) for accepting a ride for which he was found to be overweight. After considering a submission from Ivan Lister, trainer of the mare, Stewards acceded to his request for Ernie Marchant to ride the gelding 1kg over its allotted riding weight, as there were no other suitable riders available. As no apprentice rider was available Stewards permitted Shirley Hunter to replace Regan Bayliss, who was dually engaged, as the rider on General s Choice. On arrival on course Annapolis, which had not raced since 16 May 2013, was examined by the RV veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race. Prior to the running of this event Arrikool, which had reared in the barriers, was examined by the RV veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race. As a result of this the start of the race was delayed slightly. Sheila Arnold, trainer of the gelding, was notified that Arrikool was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards and gains an approval to race. The Douch failed to muster early speed. War Horse and Lamartine both over raced in the middle stages. Landy raced wide without cover. Approaching the 150m Malebo Magic had to be eased between Phantom Eagle and Lamartine, which was taken out by The Douch (Craig Robertson), when that gelding shifted ground. Craig Robertson was advised to exercise far greater care when permitting his mounts to shift ground in the future. Jarrod Fry, rider of War Horse, which performed below market expectations, stated the gelding never felt comfortable to the slow track and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of War Horse no abnormalities. A post-race veterinary examination of Annapolis, which was eased down rounding the home turn revealed no abnormalities. Anthony Cosgriff, trainer of Annapolis, was notified that the gelding was now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards and gains an approval to race. RV Stewards will also follow up in the coming days to see if anything had arisen with Annapolis that may have affected the gelding s performance today. Brooke Sweeney, rider of Landy, was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR137A(5)a(ii) for using her whip in a forehand manner on six occasions prior to the 100m.
