Rosehill Gardens Saturday 28 July 2018 Race 4: Destiny's Kiss Special Achievement Handicap 2000m Hallelujah Boy - Trainer K Lees advised that the gelding had now been spelled. Race 9: NSW Racehorse Owners Association Trophy 1200m Envy Of All Trainer K Lees advised that the gelding had now been spelled. Warwick Farm Wednesday 1 August 2018 Race 5: ATC Hong Kong Tour Handicap 1200m Unwise Trainer Mr J Cummings advised that the mare had now been spelled. Gracefilly Stable representative N Paine advised that the stable was satisfied with the postrace condition of the mare and it is the intention to continue on with its preparation. Late Riding Changes: As J Collett was stood down following Race 7 Stewards permitted the following riding changes: Race 8 J Innes Jnr on Voilier Race 9 T Berry on Pedway RACE 1: Winter Racing Handicap 1200m Osorno Trainer J Cummings reported that Osorno had sustained minor abrasions to its near fore fetlock and off-hind hock on the morning of Friday 3 August The colt underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival to the course and was passed suitable to

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider G Schofield stated that his mount was caught wide and without cover throughout the early and middle stages despite his attempts to find cover early on. He said throughout the run Osorno appeared somewhat field shy, laid out in the straight and then was reluctant to hold its position between Beidi and Lion's Head near the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr J Cummings advised that the colt was not suited to racing wide and without cover and this was the only explanation he could provide in relation to its performance. Mr Cummings undertook to report back on the post-race condition of the colt in the days subsequent. Nasaayim Inside the 100m when giving ground was hampered when crowded by Onthetake which shifted out when it endeavoured to establish running to the outside of Danawi. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider J Collett stated that after being crossed by Danawi in the middle stages he improved to that runners outside whereby his mount travelled strongly. He said that after initially responding to his riding in the early part of the straight Nasaayim commenced to give ground from the 200m and did not finish the race off from that point. He added that the filly appeared one-paced in the straight and would derive a fitness benefit from today's performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co trainer Mr T Dabernig concurred with the views of J Collett and undertook to report back to the Stewards if anything was amiss with the filly in the days subsequent. Lion s Head Was steadied and shifted in behind runners shortly after the start. Adana When questioned rider H Bowman stated that the colt did not fully stretch out today on today's Good (3) surface but nevertheless was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. He further added that in his opinion the colt may be better suited over a longer distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to have aggravated an old abrasion inside its off-hind hock. Trainer Mr C Waller was asked to report back on the post-race condition of Adana in the days subsequent. Danawi Over the final 100m was inclined to lay out under pressure. Military Zone Stood flat-footed as the start was affected and lost ground (2L). Was then steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Briefly held up in the early part of the straight. Onthetake Slow to begin. RACE 2: TAB Highway Handicap 1400m Cisco Bay Crowded at the start between Magic Choir and Granola State, both of which shifted ground. When questioned regarding his riding in the straight as to why he didn t take a run available to the inside of Fui San, rider G Schofield stated that Cisco Bay is a big striding horse that requires clear racing room. He said that whilst he was aware that a run was available to the inside of Fui San he felt that by taking this run it would not have provided Cisco Bay with clear racing room and he was also concerned that Granola State an unfancied runner may have given ground in the lead and this would have resulted in his mount being held up. He added for this reason he elected to shift to the outside of Fui San soon after straightening but when that runner shifted out slightly he was disappointed for clear running near the 300m between Fui San and Sintara. He further added he then shifted to the inside of Fui San but when that runner shifted back in he was obliged to check to avoid the heels of Fui

3 3 San at the 150m and shifted to that runners outside whereby he secured clear running at the 50m. He added again over the concluding stages he could not fully test the gelding when Cliff (J McDonald) shifted in. J McDonald was advised to exercise more care. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 1/5 lame in the near hind leg. Trainer Mr G Woodward was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Cisco Bay racing again. Cliff Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Editors When questioned regarding the disappointing performance rider A Adkins stated that the gelding was not suited to being caught three wide and without cover and this resulted in it not finishing its race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. Magic Choir Blundered on jumping Sintara When questioned regarding the gelding racing more forward today rider Ms M Taylor advised that her instructions were to take up a position slightly forward of midfield. She said when caught wide in the early stages her only option was to ride forward so as to avoid being caught wide and this resulted in Sintara racing more forward than instructed. Kruanui Leaving the 1000m Kruanui was steadied when briefly crowded by Sintara (M Taylor) which shifted in. M Taylor was advised to exercise more care. In taking no direct action against Ms Taylor Stewards were satisfied that she corrected her mount to give Kruanui sufficient racing room. Vivid Pink Stewards permitted T Clark to ride the mare 1.0kg over its allotted weight of 53kg. Clarendon House When Ms N Berriman was delayed due to transport difficulties Stewards permitted Ms R Murray to replace her as the rider of the mare. Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Granola State Began awkwardly resulting in its rider B El-Issa becoming unbalanced. Rider B El-Issa stated that his saddle slipped to the offside on jumping and for this reason applied pressure to his near side iron in order to reposition the saddle. He added as a consequence he was unable to obtain cover and ultimately went forward to lead. RACE 3: Book Spring Now Handicap 2400m Sayed Rider J McDonald stated that throughout the run he had concerns with the action of the gelding and for this reason eased it down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying cardiac arrythmia. Trainer Mr C Waller was advised that Sayed would require a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before being required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before its next race start. Exoteric Raced keenly in the early stages. Raqeeq Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw.

4 4 Chatelard A Adkins replaced T Berry (overweight) as the rider of the gelding. T Berry was fined the sum of $150 under AR120(b). Shifted its near fore plate in the tie up stalls necessitating it having to be re-plated. Chatelard was examined by the Club's veterinarian upon arrival at the start and was found suitable to race. Follow Suit The gelding incurred a 2kg penalty following its win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday 1 August Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. On the home turn was briefly held up when placed close to the heels of Sayed when that runner commenced to give ground. Cormac Laid out on the home turn. RACE 4: Everest Carnival On Sale Handicap 1800m Live To Dream Raced keenly in the early stages. Oklahoma Girl After being slow to begin was than steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. In the early part of the straight was shifted to the outside of Letter To Juliette to secure clear running and in doing so near the 250m made contact with Sepoy Acheva. Oklahoma Girl then raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 100m. Letter To Juliette Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Nicci's Gold Was held up for clear running in the straight and at no stage was able to be fully tested. Sweet Victory Was briefly held up in the early part of the straight as it endeavoured to secure clear running to the inside of Live To Dream. Dreams Of Paris Near the 100m was inconvenienced when Fleeting Stryke shifted out. Bella Amante Raced wide and without cover from the 1200m. Near the 600m was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Letter To Juliette. Royal Stamp Rider A Hyeronimus stated his instructions were to ride the mare quietly and obtain cover. He said on jumping Royal Stamp commenced well and from its wide draw was left without cover which resulted in it commencing to over race throughout the early stages. He said he allowed Royal Stamp to stride forward and ultimately race behind the lead. Kiarra Rose Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. On the home turn was hampered when carried wide by Fleeting Stryke which shifted to the outside of Bella Amante Belle Du Sud Rider R King reported in her view the mare may not have appreciated a nineday backup particularly in circumstances where it was stepping up to 1800m today. A postrace veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. RACE 5: Tony Crawford 50 th Handicap 1600m Avilius Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw.

5 5 Green Sweet Began awkwardly. Over the final 100m raced tight to the inside of Brimham Rocks. Dagny Was inclined to lay out over the final 200m. Coonawarra Near the 250m when giving ground was steadied when crowded between Gresham and Dagny (H Bowman) which shifted out. H Bowman was reprimanded under AR137(a) and reminded to stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances. Rider A Hyermonimus reported the gelding was unsuited to the Good (3) conditions and performs better on surfaces with more give in them. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have lost its near fore plate. Dalmatia Prince Crowded on jumping between Dagny and High Mist which began awkwardly and shifted in. Impavido Stewards permitted T Clark to ride the mare 1.0kg over its allotted weight of 53kg. Hung in over the final 200m. RACE 6: ATC Owner Benefits Card Handicap 1200m Redouble Raced wide and without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. App S Weatherly stated that Redouble endured a wide run without cover throughout the event and as a consequence was unable to finish the race off. Stable representative Mr J Bruce advised that Redouble would now be spelled. Il Mio Destino For some distance near the 200m was awkwardly placed inside the heels of Intuition when that runner shifted in slightly. Smartedge Slow to begin. Prioritise Slow to begin. App M Murphy explained he intended to be more forward however when Prioritise missed the start, did not muster speed and as consequence settled a little further back than he had intended. He added that on the home turn he was briefly tightened to the inside of Reach For Heaven and after placing his mount under pressure in the early part of the straight he attempted a run to the inside of Bella Vella but was obliged to check his mount when disappointed for this run. Stewards cautioned App M Murphy in respect to endeavouring to obtain a run to the inside of Bella Vella where there was insufficient room to do so. Masterati Near the 100m was steadied when briefly crowded by Oriental Runner which shifted in abruptly. RACE 7: Mostyn Copper Group Missile Stakes 1200m (Group 2) Kementari Shortly after the start was briefly crowded between Boss Lane and The Monstar which shifted out. Held up for clear running until near the 200m. Showtime In the early stages overraced. Near the 800m was checked from the heels of Egyptian Symbol. Pierata Knuckled shortly after the start.

6 6 The Monstar Prior to the declaration of correct weight, the Stewards identified from the inquiry room that rider T Angland had struck his mount on 10 occasions prior to the 100m. When Stewards could not be satisfied that The Monstar had gained an advantage that resulted in it finishing in 3rd placing in the race, in accordance with AR168(2) they therefore declined to exercise their powers under AR137A(9) and did not proceed with a formal objection. At a subsequent inquiry T Angland pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) of using the whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m. T Angland was fined the sum of $600. Lanciato Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners. Takedown Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster any speed. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on the near hind heel. Egyptian Symbol Shifted its off hind plate in the tie up stalls necessitating it having to be replated. Egyptian Symbol was examined by the Club's veterinarian and was passed fit to race. J McDonald rider of Pierata pleaded guilty to charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that leaving the 700m he did permit Pierata to shift in when not clear of Egyptian Symbol resulting in Egyptian Symbol, which was inclined to race keenly, lose its running and being steadied from the heels of Pierata. J McDonald's license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Thursday 9 August 2018 and to expire on Thursday 16 August 2018 on which day he may ride. G Schofield rider of Kementari pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) in near the 200m he did permit Kementari to shift out resulting in Kementari making slight contact with Takedown, resulting in Takedown being taken out across the running of Egyptian Symbol which had to be checked when it lost its running between Takedown and Showtime. G Schofield's license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Friday 10 August 2018 and to expire on Friday 17 August 2018 on which day he may ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be 1/5 lame in the off hindleg. Trainer Mr B Baker was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare racing next. RACE 8: Brother Dan s 80 th Birthday Sprint 1000m Gamblestown Trainer J Pride was fined the sum of $50 under AR140A for presenting the gelding in the incorrect gear. Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. In the early part of the straight was inclined to lay in as it was shifted to the outside of Berdibek to secure clear running. Handfast Made contact with the gates when being loaded, was examined by the Club's veterinarian officer and was passed suitable to race. Overraced when caught wide and without cover for the majority of the race. Eagle Bay Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Sanctioned Raced wide without cover until near the 800m. Tamarack Was crowded on jumping between Vive Marie and Mr Tickets which was bumped and taken inwards by Dancers.

7 7 Bergerac Prior to the declaration of correct weight, the Stewards identified from the inquiry room that rider App M Murphy had struck his mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m. When Stewards could not be satisfied that Bergerac had gained an advantage that resulted in it winning the race in accordance with AR168(2) they therefore declined to exercise their powers under AR137A(9) and did not proceed with a formal objection. At a subsequent inquiry App Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) of using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m. His permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence on Sunday 12 August 2018 and to expire on Sunday 19 August 2018 on which day he may ride and in addition was fined the sum of $1000. Vive Marie Raced fiercely throughout the event and refused to settle. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The Lord Mayor On the home turn was steadied from the heels of Handfast which shifted out and away from Berdibek. App S Weatherley reported that the gelding was unsuited by racing back in the field and when caught wide in what was an on paced dominated event. RACE 9: Australian Turf Club Handicap 1000m Petrossian After being loaded into the barriers became fractious, reared and became cast. Petrossian was removed from the barriers, examined by the Clubs official veterinarian and ruled unfit to start. As such Petrossian was declared a late withdrawal at 4.53pm acting on veterinary advice. Stewards subsequently ordered that all monies wagered on Petrossian be refunded in full and with regard to betting with bookmakers all successful wagers made prior to 4.53pm to be subject to the following deductions in the dollar on the face value of the ticket: 1 st ) Soothing less 2c win and less 1c place 2 nd ) Pedway less 3c place 3 rd ) Rebel Miss less 2c place Stable representative Mr N Perry was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Petrossian's next race start and a warning would be placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Burradoo Slow to begin. Had difficultly obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. Near the 100m was held up on the heels of Don't Tease Me before obtaining a narrow run between that runner and Pendeloque near the 75m. Wanna Get A What A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 2/5 lame in the near hind lame. Trainer Mr G Vella was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to Wanna Get A What racing next. Three Sheets Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Near the 250m when commencing to make ground had to be steadied when momentarily crowded between Dynamic Bid and Pendeloque which shifted in away from Soothing. Rebel Miss Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. Prince Mayted Near the 200m was steadied when disappointed for clear running between Wanna Get A What and Pedway. Prince Mayted was then shifted back to the inside of Wanna Get A What in an attempt to secure clear running but again had to be steadied when

8 8 disappointed for clear running between Wanna Get A What and Don't Tease Me which shifted out. IN this instance Prince Mayted was accidently struck across the head by the whip of R Hunt rider of Don't Tease Me. Over the concluding stages Prince Mayted and Don't Tease Me bumped on a number of occasions resulting in both runners being unbalanced. All Stand Stewards permitted H Bowman to ride the gelding 0.5kg over its allotted weight of 56.5kg. After being loaded into the barriers, become fractious and lunged forward. All Stand was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's official veterinarian and was passed fit to race. Raced wide and without cover throughout. Don't Tease Me On jumping was bumped by Pedway which shifted out. Salerno Shortly after the start was steadied and shifted in behind runners from its wide draw. GENERAL: Summary of whip use: Stewards noted the following riders exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100m under AR137A(5)(a)(ii). Bearing in mind the totality of whip use, no action was taken. Race 2 J.McDonald (Cliff) 7 strikes & 2 consecutives prior to the 100m. Race 6 J McDonald (Smartedge) 6 strikes prior to the 100m Race 7 R King (Lanciato) 7 strikes prior to the 100m Race 8 J McDonald (Island Missile) 7 strikes prior to the 100m. Race 9 App R Hunt (Don't Tease Me) 8 strikes & 3 consecutives prior to the 100m. Race 3: Sayed, Red Alto(3), Raqeeq, Chatelard, Follow Suit, Vaucluse Bay. Race 4: Oklahoma Girl, Nicci's Gold, Fleeting Stryke, Bella Amante, Sweet Victory. Race 5: Coonawarra, Gresham, Dalmatia Prince, Impavido, Dagny. Race 6: Smartedge(2), Intuition(2), Oriental Runner. Race 7: Music Magnate, Kementari, Showtime, Pierata(2), She Will Reign, Egyptian Symbol, The Monstar. Race 8: Berbibek, Handfast(2), Sanctioned, Island Missile, Mr Tickets.
