THIRD PARTY FUROSEMIDE (SALIX) ADMINISTRATION Horsemen are reminded that third party administration of furosemide (Salix) is in effect at this race meet. Please refer to the 2019 NSA Spring Condition Book (center pink section) for complete details of the new NSA Medication policy. Contact Dr. Jeff Witwer ( ) Foal papers are not required to be on file with the Horse Identifier at the races providing the horse can be properly identified; and tattoos or microchips are required for all horses, with a one-time exception providing the horse can be identified by its markings. All scratches must be made no later than one hour prior to post time for the first race. ATTENTION TRAINERS: Pre-race vet exam for the horses is between 10:00-11:00 a.m. Please have someone to jog your horse(s). ALL HORSES NOT ON LASIX MUST BE ON THE GROUNDS 2 HOURS PRIOR TO POST TIME FOR THE FIRST RACE FOR THE PRE-RACE VET CHECK UNLESS EXCUSED BY STEWARDS FOR EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES. LASIX HORSES MUST BE ON THE GROUNDS 4 HOURS PRIOR TO POST TIME FOR THEIR SCHEDULED RACE. Vet on call: Dr. Ronnie Fulmer ( ) CAROLINA CUP - NOTICE TO HORSEMEN CONCERNING NEW NSA MEDICATION POLICY All trainers running a horse on furosemide (Salix) at the Carolina Cup, that are not stabled in Barn B-1 or Barn B-2, must move their horses to the Portable Tent Stalls on the racecourse grounds by the prescribed time for Salix administration (4 hours prior to post time). Those horses will remain stabled in the Portable Tent Stalls until paddock time for their race. Attention Trainers: By order of the South Carolina State Veterinarian, all racehorses, ponies, donkeys and any other horses entering the Springdale Race Course for the Carolina Cup Races must have the following documents: Requirements for out-of-state horses:

3 1. CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days) including description, date of negative EIA (Coggins) results, Lab and Accession number; and 2. Negative EIA (Coggins) test within 12 months Requirements for in-state (South Carolina) horses: 1. Negative EIA (Coggins) test within 12 months These documents may be checked by State Inspectors on race day. There will be no training on the racecourse or around the perimeter of the racecourse. Attention Horsemen: All scratches must be made no later than one hour prior to post time for the first race. Attention Horsemen: For stall assignments please contact Jeff Teter ( ) Attention Horsemen: There will be four generators provided at the portable stabling area. Bring fans and extension cords. Attention Horsemen: Anyone wearing a Carolina Cup Horsemen's badge may use boxes I1-6 and J1-6 in the grandstand. O/T/R's are encouraged to be on the grounds by 10:30 a.m. All participating owners, trainers, riders and grooms please use the same Horsemen?s gate as the Carolina Cup. Please use the same credentials as the March 30 meet. If you need replacement credentials, please call the office before Saturday. All post- race testing will be done in two stalls of the four-stall barn between Barn B and the Block Barn. The designated stalls face the Block Barn. Please be advised that horsemen will need to make necessary arrangements for buckets and equipment to cool their horses out in this area if being tested. No horse will be allowed to go back to any outer barns: A, C, D, E until completion of testing. Schedule of Events: Make all reservations through the Carolina Cup Office ( ) unless otherwise indicated. Saturday: Immediately following the final race, all horsemen and officials are invited back to the Finish Line Tent (Turf Club tent on the berm) for a reception and race replays. The Cup Runneth Over course at the Carolina Cup race course was inspected by Jeff Teter on April 1. Turf: The course is a Bermuda grass turf, which is dormant now. The course was over seeded with winter rye grass in late October. We had a very good germination and one of the best stands of rye we have ever had. The course was mowed once at 4 inches and will most likely not be mowed again. We are looking for 6 to 8-inch stand of turf. Smoothness: The course is smooth throughout. Compaction: (good) on all three courses. Moisture: Range was 1-2 (dry) on all three courses. Notes: There was minimal damage to the course from the Carolina Cup races on March 30. Up to 2 inches of rain is forecast for Tuesday, and possible showers on Friday.

From the South: I-20 East to Exit 92 (Lugoff/Camden). Turn right off the ramp and follow Route 601North. Merge right onto Route 1 North and follow through Lugoff over the Wateree River Bridge. Turn left onto Springdale Drive and turn right onto Knights Hill Rd. Springdale Race Course will be on the left.

5 Carolina Cup Racing Association Horsemen s Credentials and Luncheon Tent Tickets 1. Participating horsemen, please use the same credentials as the Carolina Cup Race Meet. If you need replacement credentials, please pick up credential envelopes in the Carolina Cup office the week prior to the races Wednesday-Friday 9AM-5 PM. If you will not be arriving until race day, please call Maggie Davis at the office (803) to make other arrangements for picking up credentials. 2. Cup Runneth Over Lunch Tent The Finish Line - a complimentary luncheon tent for participating horsemen and officials will be in The Finish Line (on the berm- The Turf Club tent) lunch will be served from 11:30-2:30. There will be a sign in sheet at the luncheon tent please sign in to receive a wristband for all day access. There will also be a Horsemen s Reception and Race Replay in the tent immediately following the final race. 3. NSA Horsemen pins get you on the property as well as into the Grandstand. Please use Horsemen s gate. Tickets to the Finish Line Luncheon tent are available for purchase at $75/person at the tent or through the race office prior to race day.
