3 Dates for your diary Presentation, Buffet & Boogie 1 st Sandaway (John Fowlers, Combe Martin) 7pm-7.30pm till late!! 10 a ticket, you must book in advance by 27 th October!!! Smart dress, to include buffet, dancing, and the bar will be open! **16** Trophies will be presented on the night - trophies to include: attendance, dressage, showjumping, agility, most improved and most helpful non-committee member. Caravans can be rented for 10 a night for up to 6 people, limited caravans so first come first served. To book tickets please contact Loanna or Charley To book caravans please contact Amy. Dressage and Prix Caprilli, November 9th, Calvert Trust, Blackmoor Gate ONLY 5 a class for members and 12 nonmembers!! The Event: Just a straightforward dressage competition, with a Prix Caprilli class dressage with a couple of jumps Venue: Calvert trust, Blackmoor Gate Classes: Class 1 (a, b): Introductory B (2009) Class 2 (a, b): Preliminary 7 (2002) Class 3 (a, b): Novice 30 (2006) Class 4: Prix Caprilli 2 max, see test sheet Rosettes to 6th place, both sections of each class Cost: 5 per entry (non-club members may enter at 12 per entry if there are places available if they are not available at close of entries we will refund your entry) Organisers: Amy Bengey ( ) and Peter Vaughan ( ) Notes: Classes will be split, section a, section b. Section a is restricted for horse+rider combinations who have NOT been placed 1st or second at a higher dressage level; section b is open. However, if we receive fewer than 3 entries in each section, the class places will not be split. How to Enter: Fill in the entry form with your name, horse s name, and the classes you want to enter (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4), with cheque (if not paying by BACS) to Peter below. Closing date 1st November. (This is so we can we can plan test times, liaise with judge, etc). Payment secures place until we receive payment, someone else could grab your place. And entries will ONLY be accepted on the entry form. Dressage test sheets can be obtained from British Dressage (Google them). Sorry you will have to get your own as we are not allowed to photocopy them (yes we think that s tight, too). Entries will be limited first come first served! If very oversubscribed, we will

4 arrange a second date, giving priority to those who didn t get a place. Juniors below 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult; juniors between 12 and 14 years must be accompanied by person over 16. Test Times: Will be published on Club Facebook page, evening of 6th November. Or contact Peter or Amy if you do not have Facebook access. No start will be before 9:30am. Tack: English or continental saddle (so no Westerns!). Bridle: Snaffle bit or variant; pelham with rounding s or variant. A noseband is compulsory. This is wider than normal for dressage to allow you to use what you normally ride in. But, the following are NOT allowed: martingales; double bridle; pelham with 2 reins; gag; grakle noseband. Dress: Jacket; white, cream or beige jodhpurs; gloves; regulation hat; boots. Whips may be carried. Spurs may be used if short, blunt, single point pointing down. Long hair to be secured so as not to hang lower than shoulder line when standing. Jewellery to be removed or covered by clothing if it cannot be removed. Callers: If you want the test called, you can. Just bring your own caller. If you need to leave before results are available, send or bring an SAE for score sheet (and hopefully your rosette!) Ruth will be talking about what to expect from your equine dental practitioner, what happens during a routine appointment, equipment used, the structure of teeth and how it all relates to horse management. 7 to include food for members and 9 non-members. 5 Fun Ride with (optional) Cross Country 30 th November Coxleigh Barton Fun Coxleigh with optional XC round as fun afterwards (if you do wish to do the XC course you MUST wear a BODY PROTECTOR.) You will be required to fill out a disclaimer before going cross country. ONLY 15 for Members Christmas Fancy Dress Jumping 7 th Codden Hill We are holding a Christmas Fancy Dress Codden Hill to get you all in the Christmas spirit! For any non-members wishing to join the club you can so on the day to get the cheaper rate and it will give you next year FREE for 2015!!! Christmas Pudding Pairs = 2 3ft -2 6ft (pairs) Class 6. Mince Pie Scurry = 2 6ft - 2 9ft (timed round) Class 7. Christmas Present Accumulator = 2 6ft 3ft (jumps will have points, the more you jump and the higher, harder jumps will be worth more within a set time) Class 8. Christmas Cracker = 3ft 3 3ft Class 9. All riders must wear the following:- Protective Headwear which meets one of the following standards and must carry the assurance stamp of Kite mark or SEI: BS EN 1384:1997 or PAS 015: 1998 or ASTM F1163. Safe and appropriate clothing i.e. jodhpurs, jumper/jacket/coat (hoodies are advised not to be worn) and suitable footwear i.e. jodhpur boots, riding boots (NO wellies when jumping). **JUNIORS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO WEAR BODY PROTECTORS WHEN JUMPING** Adults are also advised to wear body protectors when jumping.
