1 ANGUS PONY CLUB NEWSLETTER April 2014 Web site: - Facebook: - Where has the year gone so far!! I can t believe that we are at April already. The Committee has been busy planning a number of events and we hope that you will manage to attend a few. We hope to see you all at our Arena Event at Brechin on Sunday 27 April. If you can help at this event please contact Hazel on Angus Pony Club celebrates its 65 th Anniversary this year and we have ordered special rosettes to mark this occasion. We also hope to incorporate celebrations of this anniversary at our annual awards and dance in November. Over the last few months we have held various events which included the finish of the winter dressage league. In the junior section Kara Hodnett on Lippens Sweetcorn and Shanyn Wilson on Leggerview Charlotte won the 8 years and under section. Keira Gowans on Chloe won the The Mynach Nightwatchman Trophy for 9/10 years and Catherine Fraser on Ben won the 11/12 year old section. In the senior section (13 and 14 years old) Molly Sinclair on Murphy was the overall winner in that section and Jennifer Adam on Hero won the Drambuie of Glenmarkie Trophy for the overall 15 years and above winner. Well done to everyone who took part in the league. There were a number of very nice dressage tests over the three competitions and the overall results in each class can be found on facebook and the Angus PC web under Dressage. We also held a number of games rallies which have been well attended. It has been nice to see some of our younger members come along and try games for the first time. Some of our members also attended the Gleneagles Games day on 9 March and did very well. Our Stable Management evenings have also been very well attended and there is further training being organised for our B test members. Some of our members will also be selected to train for their Riding and Road Safety achievement badge and you will be contacted. Our Triathlon Competition was a great success and we had 45 entries. The club made a profit of 285. Well done to all our members who took part. If this was your first time I hope you enjoyed it and continue to do further competitions. Shooting practices are still taking place and if you are interested please contact either Mandy Hodnett or Margaret Dunning. On 21 March we held our Information night and Cheesy Bingo night in Lunanhead Hall. It was a great success and we raised 318 from this which will help subsidise camp this year. We presented small trophies and rosettes to the overall winners of the APC winter showjumping league held at Inchcoonans. Full results are on the web. CONGRATULATIONS On the 16th March two of our members, Louise Hill and Andrew Neill traveled down to the Mounted Games Scottish Team Selection Trials at Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.
