2 Page 2 DC s Word Hi Everyone, DC S WORD Well at last Spring has Sprung!!. It s great that the long winter nights are almost past for another year as this allows us all to get out and about with a few less layers of clothes. As you will see we have a busy time ahead of us at Eglinton, we have a few new members and we look forward to meeting you all at the rallies. Show Jumping, Dressage and Triathlon enthusiasts have all had a busy winter and I am sure all that hard work will help you in your Summer Campaigns. Lots of you have worked hard and passed various tests, so congratulations to you all, I am sure your ponies will appreciate all your hard work and that you will be able to care for them even better than before. Georgia Brown and Heather Wylie, two of our games stars have been chosen to represent Scotland in the Games Competition at Windsor Horse Show. This is an acknowledgement not only of their games skills but of their horsemanship and commitment to Pony Club so very well done girls, I am sure you will have a fantastic time at Windsor. Also heading off to Windsor is Sophie Steel, also representing Scotland, but this time in the Tetrathlon type competition. Best of luck to you Sophie. In the next couple of weeks our Eventers will be out and about and I hope you all enjoy the extensive training opportunities which we have planned for this year. I look forward to seeing you all out and about at Rallies and Training and of course we are now heading towards CAMP and the Areas. Good luck to all of you and your ponies this Spring. See you soon. Christine

3 Page 3 Mini Rallies Over the winter we tried something extra with our rallies, we ran an hours themed lesson at Muirmill EC.or Morris EC. Remember however, if you book a space and are then unable to attend or simply don t turn up, you will either have to still pay the rally fee or fill your slot with another pony club member. We still have our big combined rallies. Plus, don t forget that Wum s Friday night showjump lessons are ongoing, as well as Emma s dressage training. We are trying to give you all plenty of choice. The website has a full list of all rallies and events going on with contact details of event organiser. For any rallies that are full a waiting list is available, so get in touch. Please check out the website for details about eventing training, including levels, instructors, venues and organisers contact details. If a member is being left on his/her own will parents please ask another responsible adult to keep an eye on him/her and After 31 st December 2015 hats marked only with the (BS) EN 1384 standard will NOT be permitted within pony club. For cross country riding (including Eventing, Tetrathlon, Horse Trials, tests and training) over fences 0.80m high and above; a jockey skull cap with no fixed peak must be worn. For New Rules: h t t p : / / w w w. p c u k. o r g / _resources/hat-rule pdf Christmas Body Protectors must be worn for all Events/Rallies with Cross- Country, and are advised for S.J. Riders who choose to use the Woof Wear Exo body cage must lodge a key with the event organiser when they collect their number. It is recommended that a rider s body protector should not be more than 2% of their body weight. When an air jacket inflates the sudden noise startles horses in the immediate vicinity thereby causing difficulties for the other members of a ride if used for a group ride in a confined area, e.g school or menage air jackets are therefore not encouraged for group rides. If a rider chooses to wear an air jacket it must only be used in For New rules addition to a normal body protector. _resources/body-protector- Rule-2016.pdf

You need to bring a packed lunch every day and we would like to ask one of your parents to help on one morning or afternoon. The cost will be 160 each. Please fill in the application and medical forms attached and send them to Jill Sherrie. Sadly, we have had quite a few instances this year of Parents confirming that Fees for Rallies &/or Events have been paid online, without then actually sending a payment into our Bank Account. This means we have had to update our Online Payment procedures as follows: (1) make an online Payment from your Bank to- RBS Quoting your eldest Child's SURNAME and FIRST NAME (2) Print a copy of the Payment Receipt (or Screen-print) from your Bank and take to Rally or direct to rally organiser MONTHLY PAYMENT SCHEME We also offer a scheme where you can set up a Standing Order and pay an amount (that you choose) each month into your own "Pony Club Account" and then you can use these funds to then pay for Rallies, Events & Camp - this can help budget your costs over the year. To set this up, please call George on and he will happily help organise this for you.
