The arrival of cattle is permitted between 4.00pm and 7.00pm on Sunday, 12 th August and between 9.00am and 8.00pm on Monday, 13 th August. All Cattle must be on site by 8.00pm on Monday. Stock vehicles will only be allowed on site for collection of exhibits after 2.30pm on Thursday, 16 th August. Access will be restricted and limited to vehicles displaying a livestock vehicle pass and their occupants holding the correct admission ticket(s). All cattle must remain on site until the presentation of awards has been made on the second day and all prize winners must take part in the Grand Parade on the final day of the Show. 2. CATTLE ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES EXHIBITORS WILL BE PERMITTED TO SET UP CATTLE STALLS FROM 2.00PM ONWARDS ON SATURDAY, 11 TH AUGUST. PLEASE NOTE: EXHIBITORS ARRIVING BEFORE 2.00PM WILL BE TURNED AWAY. All cattle must stay overnight and will be housed in the Livestock Building where straw will be provided free of charge. Cattle stalls are allocated at the Society's discretion, they are available at no charge. Milking and washing facilities are provided by the Society. An experienced stockman will be on duty in the Camrose Building between 7.00pm on Sunday, 12 th August until 6.00pm on Thursday, 16 th August. 3. CATTLE PASSPORTS & BREED REGISTRATION Passports are required for all bovines, CPP13 (born on, or after 1 st July 1996) or CPP52 (valid from 1 st August 2011). The passport must accompany the animals and remain on the Showground for the duration of the animals' attendance. The movement to and from the show must be entered on the passport. Cattle passports will be collected between 2.00pm & 8.00pm on Monday, 13 h August. All cattle entered must be registered with their respective breed societies with the exception of commercial cattle. Exhibitors should note that they may be asked to prove the identity of each exhibit. Full particulars of each animal must be given on the entry form otherwise championship awards will be withheld.
2 4. CATTLE HANDLING & BULLS All handlers must be a minimum of 14 years old on the first day of the show for the judging of all cattle classes and for the Grand Parade. All bulls aged one year and above must have a ring properly fitted in the nose and the exhibitor and/or the handler shall be solely responsible for the safe control of the animal. The exhibitor can provide a MAXIMUM of TWO handlers during classes and the Grand Parades. 5. CROWD SAFETY IN THE CATTLE BUILDING In the interest of safety, the public are not permitted within the cattle building whilst classes are being judged and whilst the Grand Parade is in progress. Access will only be with livestock exhibitor wristbands. 6. BRUCELLOSIS Cows or heifers which show any signs of calving or aborting must be placed in the Show's isolation facility and returned to its premises of origin after receiving permission from the Society and its Honorary Veterinary Officers. If an animal calves or aborts before it is isolated, all precautions must be taken to isolate and disinfect the bedding, transport and any equipment that may be contaminated. The AVHLA will be informed immediately. 7. BOVINE TB All cattle must be free from the restrictions imposed under the Tuberculosis Order All cattle over 6 weeks old must test negative to a pre-movement TB test no more than 60 days prior to the 12 th August ELIGIBILITY All cows shown must have produced a calf naturally within the last 15 months; a vet's certificate must be produced if required. All milk records to be authentic. 9. Prizes from "RUMENCO" will be awarded at each show to the owners of the highest placed Welsh Black bull and female. Animals must be exhibited by WBCS members and no animal may win more than one prize in any season. A further prize will be awarded by "RUMENCO" to the owners of the bull and female who gain the highest aggregate points at the nominated shows and prizes will also be awarded to the reserve and second reserve winners. All exhibits must be entered in the WBCS Herd Book, Grading-up appendix or Polled register. WBCS judges may only judge one qualifying show in any season. This will be administered by the Welsh Black Cattle Society. 17 SHEEP SECTION ADRAN DEFAID Wednesday, 15 th & Thursday, 16 th August 2018 JUDGING TO TAKE PLACE IN THE SHEEP RINGS (ZONE B) The Society would like to acknowledge with thanks the generous support of the 2018 sponsors for the Sheep Section (confirmed as at 15 th May 2018) Allen & Partners Treberfedd Ltd (Dick Pepper) GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR SHEEP EXHIBITORS SHOWGROUND HOLDING NO: 55/475/ ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE OF SHEEP Please use Gate 1 (RED) entrance for the delivery and collection of stock. The arrival of sheep is permitted between 6.00pm on Tuesday, 14 th August before 8.30am on Wednesday, 15 th August. All sheep must be penned by 9.00am on the 1st day of judging. Stock vehicles will only be allowed on site for collection of exhibits after 4.30pm on Thursday, 16 th August. Access will be restricted and limited to vehicles displaying a Livestock Vehicle pass and their occupants holding the correct admission ticket(s)/wristband(s). 2. SHEEP ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES All sheep will be housed in the Sheep Marquee where bedding will be provided. 3. SAC SHEEP & GOAT HEALTH SCHEME (MAEDI VISNA ACCREDITATION & NON MAEDI VISNA) All Texel, British Charollais, Lleyn and Hampshire Down sheep MUST BE MV Accredited. MV accredited stock must be accompanied by a valid Certificate of Status (Green SAC form) stating the number and type of sheep and the accredited flock's registration number. Non Maedi Visna exhibitors and handlers please note any person in charge of sheep may be held liable if they fail to observe instructions or cross barriers which separate accredited and non-accredited areas. Owners must report any lambing or abortions during or six weeks before the show. Sheep coming to the show should have been treated with an approved scab control product carried out to the manufacturer's specification. 4. WELFARE OF LIVESTOCK (Prohibited Operation) regulation 1982 Short Tail Docking of Sheep Exhibitors should take note that exhibits born after must comply with the regulation that tails must be long enough to cover the vulva of the female and anus of the male. The decision of the Honorary Veterinary Officer shall be final on this matter. 5. SHEEP MOVEMENT All sheep coming to the show MUST be accompanied by an AML1 Document and each animal should be individually identified. 6.
