3 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS Judging will begin punctually. Horse classes begin judging at sharp for Youngstock, Brood Mare and Foals. Judging in the main marquee will begin at a.m. Cattle judging will begin at 12 noon. IN THE EVENT OF THE SHOW BEING CANCELLED THE SHOW OFFICE WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR 5 WORKING DAYS POST SHOW DATE FOR COLLECTION OF REFUNDS All applications for Allotments and trade Exhibits in grounds should be made to the Secretary not later than Friday July 27th No entries can be accepted unless accompanied by a full remittance for the total amount of entry fee payable. N.B. PLEASE SEND IN YOUR ENTRIES EARLY. PHONE ENTRIES ARE NOT ACCEPTED. No entries will be received after Friday July 27th The North Tipperary Agricultural Show is a member of the Irish Shows Association. FUNDAMENTAL RULES NOTE - Exhibitors are requested to read carefully the following rules, under which conditions entries only are accepted. 1. The Council reserve the right to amalgamate or cancel any class in which sufficient entries are not received and prize money will not be paid unless entries are received from more than one exhibitor. 2. Entry forms to be accurately filled up in every particular must be lodged together with the full amount of Entry Fees on or before Friday 27th July, Any wilful misstatement in the Entry Form shall disqualify the exhibitor. No Phone Entries will be accepted. Many office hours have unfortunately been wasted in the past on taking phone entries from people who never turn up. 3. All stock etc, must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time of entry. 4. All stock must be classified by age, which will be calculated from the 1st of January of the year of birth. 5. Brood mares entered as in foal only: certificate of service must be lodged along with Entry Form. 6. In sheep classes, date of shearing must be given on Entry Form. 7. Every bull shown must be secured by means of a ring in his nose, and other cattle must be led by a halter and kept under control. 8. Printed numbers will be sent to each exhibitor two days before the Show. All exhibits bearing their number must be on the grounds at a.m. Only two persons will be admitted with each animal. 3

4 9. If any groom or herdsman be absent from his animal at the time of adjudication, or when the horse is required for jumping, the animal will be liable to be excluded from the competition. And the Council reserve the right to remove from the grounds any animal that they consider is not under proper control. 10. Each Exhibitor of an animal to which a prize has been awarded must be prepared, when required by the Council, to make a statutory declaration that the conditions and regulations affecting such animal have been complied with, otherwise, the prize shall lapse to the Council. 11. Any objection to an award of the Judges must be lodged with the Secretaries within ONE HOUR after the Judges have given their decision, and in the Jumping Competitions, within Fifteen Minutes after the award has been made. Each objection to be made in writing, fully stating the reason, and must be accompanied by a fee of 25, which may be returned if the objection is sustained. No objection will, under any circumstances, be considered unless made in accordance with above rule. 12. No person shall enter the space enclosed for the adjudication or hold any communication with the Judges or Stewards, and no person shall act as Judge or Steward in a ring who is an exhibitor in any one of the classes under adjudication in that ring. 13. All horses shall be subject to the opinion of a V.S; if required and all animals entered in classes where height is a qualification. Certificate from a Veterinary Surgeon must be produced to Senior Steward. Certificates can be obtained free of charge from Official Veterinary Surgeon in the Show Grounds. 14. Exhibitors are to understand that, although reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of the exhibits, the Council will not be in any way responsible for accidents or loss of any kind in connection with the show, and all exhibits must be entered entirely at owners risk. THE SHOW COMMITTEE WILL NOT IN ANY WAY BE RESPONSIBLE SHOULD ANY ACCIDENT OCCUR TO ANY PERSON ATTENDING THE SHOW OR FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO CARS, VEHICLES OR THEIR CONTENTS. 15. The Council reserves to itself the right of determining all disputes as to qualifications, etc; and the decision of the Council will be final in all respects and in all cases. 16. The Judges shall not award a prize unless there is sufficient merit, and no second prize will be awarded unless there are three or more entries, the property of different owners. 17. The Council delegates full powers to the Stewards to enforce all the foregoing regulations. 18. Implements - All persons or firms sending implements must give a list, and state space required, to the Secretary, on or before 27th July in order that they may be inserted in the Catalogue. Machinery can only be put in motion with the permission of the Stewards specially appointed. 19. In the Horticultural Classes, all vegetables must be washed, trimmed and cleaned, and must be grown by the exhibitor and in his possession for at least two months previous to the Show. The Council reserve the right to inspect the gardens of any exhibitor either before or after the Show. 4

5 20. The Horticultural Hall will be open to receive exhibits from 8am to 10am on the morning of the show. 21. The Committee reserve the right of declining to receive any entry and of returning the fee, without being liable to any claim for compensation. 22. All sales must be affected through Secretary. The Seller must pay the Council five per cent commission. 23. The Horticultural Hall shall be closed to the public at 5.00 p.m. Delivery Cards will be sent to exhibitors in horticultural section, and no exhibitor will be allowed to remove exhibits unless Delivery Card is produced to the Steward in charge. EXHIBITS MAY NOT BE REMOVED PRIOR TO 5PM. 24. No person will be allowed on the Show Grounds to sell Fruit, Sweets or Ice Cream, etc; unless by permission of the Council. Authorised persons will be supplied with Official Badges, and any person found acting in contravention of this rule will be prosecuted. 25. To determine the highest number of points in any section, the following scale shall be used: First Prize counts 4 points; Second Prize 3 points; Third Prize 2 points; and Reserve 1 point. CUP WINNERS shall at the time of receiving the trophies, sign a receipt for same and an undertaking to return those not won outright, in a clean condition, to the Society, at least two weeks before the date which they are offered for further competition. PRIZE MONEY will be paid to all winning competitors on Show Day. Exhibitors of animals will receive their winnings at the same time that they receive their rosette. Winning exhibitors in the Horticulture Hall will receive their prize money from the Senior Steward when they remove their exhibit from display. All prize money must be collected on Show Day. 5

7 RING 2 - BROOD MARES and FOALS N.B. FOALS MUST BE LED AT ALL TIMES Judging starts at a.m. sharp. It is essential that IHR Nos. of mares be stated on entry forms and names of their sires. For foals, the name of sire and foals I.H.R. No. should be shown. Entry Fee 15 per Class. Class 6: Broodmare that is either stinted or has foal at foot, likely to produce high-class hunter 1st; 120, 2nd; 70; 3rd; 50. Jubilee Cup Class 8: Filly Foal, progeny of Mare in Classes 6 & 7. 1st; 100, 2nd; 60; 3rd; 40. Class 9: Colt Foal, progeny of Mare in Classes 6 & 7. 1st; 100, 2nd; 60; 3rd; 40. Browne Filly Foal All Ireland Championship Part of the Horse Sport Ireland National Showing Championship series. Prize Fund 3,000 Sponsored by A. Browne Ltd. RULES AND CONDITIONS 1. Entries are confined to: Foals eligible to be registered if not already Registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes ISH or ID. 2. Foals must be sired by a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Sport Horse Stud Book as either Approved / Preliminary Approved / Supplementary Approved / Recognised / Preliminary Recognised / Not Approved 1 (NA1) or a Stallion that is classified in the Irish Draught Stud Book as either CLASS 1 / CLASS 2 / RID (GB) / RID (Can) / Grade 2 (GB). 3. The class is also open to Weatherby s registered animals, progeny of Weatherby s Thoroughbred Stallions that are not classified in the Irish Horse Register as Not Approved 2 (NA2) 4. One foal : from selected shows may qualify, provided the judges and the ISA agree the standard 7

8 is high enough. 5. Foals must be led at all times. 6. Exhibitors to both the qualifier and the final must have the Mare s passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring, if the Foals passport is not to hand. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 7. Passports and Microchips should be read by a Vet at the Final. 8. Foals qualified for the Final are not eligible to enter any other class at the show in which the final is held other than qualifying classes for other Finals. FINAL: MOATE SHOW Sunday 26th August 2018 Qualifier Class 13: BANTRY SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT The Bantry Show I.D. Foal Munster Championship Prize Fund: 2,000 RULES AND CONDITIONS 1. The aim of this championship is to encourage the breeding of Irish Draught Foals. 2. The Championship is open to all foals eligible for R.I.D. status. 3.One Foal to be selected at each qualifier. A second foal may be selected at the discretion of the judges 4. The Dams passport must be produced for inspection at the qualifying rounds and at the final. 5. The foals passport must be produced at the final. 6. One of the judges at the qualifying shows to be from the Irish Draught Horse Judges list if possible. 7. Foals competing at the final are ineligible to enter any other class at Bantry Show 8. There will be separate classes for colt foal and filly foals at the final. 9. The Champion will be selected from the winners of each class These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules ENTRY FEE: Qualifying Show 10. To Final 20 PRIZES: Champion Colt/Filly 300; Reserve 200; 3rd 100; 4th 80 All other competitors who attend 75. Champion Foal 100. The Overall Champion will receive 400 in total. FINAL: BANTRY SHOW - SUNDAY September 2nd 2018 Class 14: 1 & 2 year old I.D. Fillies and Colts, eligible for full R.I.D. Registration. 1st; 100, 2nd; 60; 3rd; 40. Qualifier Class 15: THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION, & ROSCOMMON SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT The Roscommon Irish Draught Yearling Filly Championship Part of the Horse Sport Ireland National Showing Championship series. 9 Rules and Conditions 1. Entries are confined to : Yearling Fillies registered in the Irish Horse Register with breed codes ID; Fillies must be sired by a stallion that is classified as Class 1/ Class 2/ RID (GB)/RID(Can)/Grade 2(GB). 2. Fillies must have both sire and dam recorded on their passport. 3. Exhibitors to both the qualifier and the final must have their mare's passport available for inspection prior to entry to the Judging Ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification. 4. One animal in each qualifying class may be selected to compete in the final provided the judges and the I.S.A. agree the standard is high enough. 5. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be an Irish Draught Horse Judge. 6. Passports and Microchips should be read by a vet at the final. 7. Animals qualified for the final are not eligible to enter any other class at show where final is held, other than qualifying classes for other ISA Finals. These rules should be read in conjunction with the General I.S.A. rules. ENTRY FEE : To qualifying Show 10. To Final : 20 PRIZES: Champion 500, 2nd: 300, 3rd : 200, 4th : 150, 5th : 125, 6th : 100, 7th to end 50. A prize will be presented for Combination of Best Turned Out Animal & Most Suitably Dressed Handler. FINAL: ROSCOMMON SHOW, Saturday 18th August Class 16: Traditional Irish Draught mare 3 years and older. Mares must be eligible for Class 1 Irish Draught Classification. Mares to be judged on type and traditional characteristics of the older type draught. Mares to have a minimum of 23cm of bone. Mares in class 16 not eligible for entry in class 10. 1st; 120, 2nd; 70; 3rd; 50; 4th; 30; 5th; 20. Qualifier Class 17: Traditional Irish Horse Association LIMERCK LADY CHAMPIONSHIP RULES AND CONDITIONS 1. For two year old Traditionally Bred Fillies, suitable for producing High Quality Traditionally Bred Sport Horses (i.e. No continental breeding in their pedigrees) 2. Fillies must have been registered as foals in the I.H.R. as foals MUST be by Approved: Thoroughbred Stallions, Connemara Stallions, ISH Stallions, Irish Draught Stallions OR any cross of the afore mentioned. 3. Dams of fillies MUST also be by the Stallions as above and registered in the I.H.R. 4. All exhibitors mush have their fillies passports available for inspection at the Qualifying Show and at the Championship. ENTRY FEE To Qualifying Show 15 to Final 25 Each Filly Selected at qualifying Shows is eligible to compete in the TIHA Limerick Championship on Sunday 26th August at Limerick Show. PRIZES Champion: 500 and the T.I.H.A. Perpetual Challenge Trophy; Reserve 250, 3rd 150, 4th 100 Best turned out handler and animal 100 9

10 PONIES I.P.S. IRISH PONY SOCIETY CO. LTD. CLASS SPECIFICATIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS 1. All pony Classes at Shows affiliated to the I.P.S. shall be carried out and judged in accordance with the Society s Regulations, Rules and Bye-Laws. (a) No rider under 5 years on 1st January of current year may compete in any Class with the exception of the Lead Rein Classes for which the minimum age is 3 years on 1st January of current year. (b) No change of tack is permitted in any Class. (c) Snaffle bit means a single ringed snaffle. 2. Temporary Registration: Ponies which are registered on a temporary basis will not be eligible for qualifying points for the R.D.S. or annual awards, etc; but points won will be recorded for the purpose of determining status. POINTS SYSTEM: 3. A Points System is in operation as set out below: Restricted Open& Novice Classes: 1st - 4 points; 2nd - 3 points; 3rd - 2 points; 4th - 1 point. Intermediate and Open Classes: 1st - 6 points; 2nd - 5 points; 3rd - 4 points; 4th - 3 points. Higher points will be awarded at selected major affiliated Shows as decided by the I.P.S. Council from time to time. When a pony has gained a total of 50 points he will then be deemed to be Open, points to be calculated at the last date of entry for the Show. No points awarded in Special or unaffiliated Classes such as Local, Pony Club or Family Pony. Every owner is responsible for keeping a record of the points earned by their animal for the purpose of determining its status, and in order to ensure that it is not entered in, and does not compete in, any competition for which it is ineligible. SHOW PONY RIDING SECTION NOVICE SHOW PONY RIDING CLASSES are open to:- a) Ponies that have not attained 50 points in *Show Pony Riding Classes at Shows affiliated to the Irish Pony Society, including Irish Pony Society Shows. b)ponies that have not won an Open Show Pony Riding Class in any country other than Ireland nor completed in an International Competition with the exception of a pony expressly selected by the I.P.S. for such a competition. c) (i) Ponies that have not won a major Open Show Pony Riding Championship not affiliated to the Irish Pony Society. (ii) Ponies that have not qualified at a Show not affiliated to the Irish Pony Society for a major Open Show Pony Riding Championship to be held in Ireland or overseas. Riding Classes are those Show Pony Riding Classes for which both Novice and Open Classifications are currently included in the list of I.P.S. specifications. The society reserves the right to cancel any Classes in which there are less than 4 entries. If a Class is to be cancelled all exhibitors already entered will be contacted by the Show Secretary not less than 3 days prior to Show Day. All prize money must be collected prior to leaving the ring. 10

For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 8th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 20: Open First Ridden Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 10th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 21: Open 123cms. Show Hunter Pony Class. Confined to ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 11th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 22: Open Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein Class. For Mares and Geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms. Riders not to have attained their 9th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 23: Open Mountain and Moorland First Ridden Class. For Mares and Geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 12th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 24: Mini Championship. (All 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes eligible) The prize winners in this class (champion and reserve) are invited to compete in Class 31, the overall Champion Ridden pony. Class 25: Local Pony Class. For ponies 153cms and under who have not attained their 18th birthday on the 1st January Confined to current members of the North Tipperary and Ormond Hunts and Nenagh, North Tipperary and Ormond Pony Club members. Class 26: Open Show Pony Riding Class not exceeding 148cms. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 123cms. but not exceeding 148cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders of correct age. Class 27: Open 133cms. Show Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 123cms. but not exceeding 133cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 14th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 28: Open 143cms. Show Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 133cms. but not exceeding 143cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 17th birthday on 1st January of current year Class 29: Open 153cms. Show Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 143cms. but not exceeding 153cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 20th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 35: Mini Working Hunter Champion (1st and 2nd prize winners from class 33 and 34 eligible) Class 36: Open 133cms. Working Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 123cms. but not exceeding 133cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 14th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 37: Open 143cms. Working Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 133cms. but not exceeding 143cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 17th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 38: Open 153cms. Working Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, exceeding 143cms. but not exceeding 153cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 20th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 39: Open Intermediate Working Hunter Pony Class. For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 158cms., suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have not attained their 25th birthday on 1st January of current year. Class 40: Champion Working hunter pony (All 1st and 2nd prize winners in classes eligible) Class 41: Open Working Hunter Horse Class. 13 CATTLE IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ORGANISERS OF SHOW S AND EXHIBITORS OF CATTLE 2014 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS CATTLE The following changes are being introduced for keepers of bovine animals who wish to show cattle - these changes apply from the 2014 Show season. Keepers of cattle are now required to obtain a Certificate of Compliance prior to the movement of an animal to a Show. Certificates of Compliance can be obtained online from the Animal Identification and Movement (AIM) system through the facility or from the Cattle Movement Notification Agency. When applying for a Certificate of Compliance, keepers should not specify a destination herd. On the day of the Show, the Certificate of Compliance should be presented to the Show Secretary along with the bovine passport for the animal. The keeper and the Show Secretary will then sign the Movement Notification section of the Certificate which will then be sent to the local DVO for recording onto the AIM system. Please note that only cattle for which a valid Certificate of Compliance is provided to the Show Secretary will be allowed to the shown on the day of the Show. These Certificates will replace the previously-used CMMS 4 forms. (Entry fee: 15 per entry per Class). Judging will start at sharp. The society reserves the right to cancel any Classes in which there are less than 4 entries. If a Class is to be cancelled all exhibitors already entered will be contacted by the Show Secretary not less than 1 week prior to Show Day. Individual details of each sheep in the consignment must be recorded on the document. Sheep from non-restricted flocks only can be moved to Shows. In the case of flocks restricted following diagnosis of scrapie, sheep possessing the ARR/ARR genotype only may be exhibited. The movement of these ARR/ARR genotype sheep must be accompanied by the relevant movement permit (SCR / 10)which can be obtained from the local District Veterinary Office in the county where the flock is located. AIM Notification The movement of sheep to and from an Agricultural Show within the State must be recorded on AIM. This is done using a copy of the owners sheep dispatch document as follows: The owner/keeper presents the signed and completed dispatch document to the show secretary who checks it to ensure that it is completed in full. The show secretary fills in the MART section of the dispatch document with (i) the show number, (ii) the date of the move back to the source holding (iii) stamps it with the show stamp and (iv) signs the dispatch document. The show secretary then forwards the completed pink section of the dispatch document to the local DVO within 7 days of the show movement. The show secretary keeps the white copy for his/her records. The source / destination keeper keeps the bottom yellow copy to enter it into their flock register. Ultimate responsibility for fulfilling this requirement lies with the Show Secretary.
