Wishing everyone health and prosperity in 2016 and the luck to have the next winning billion dollar PowerBall ticket. Indoor shoots are off to a good start with the clubs finishing their aggregates and the Vegas Shoot taking place Jan The Shooter of the Year for 2016 for high scoring male and high scoring female for the combined scores of the 3 state championship shoots begins with the State Indoor at Springfield on February Don t miss this 1 st leg of the Triple Crown! The IAA convention will be held March 6, 2016 at Motel 66 Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield. This will be a one day convention with registration 9 AM to 10 AM. The delegates and board meeting will start at 10 AM. Lunch will be served with the cost of $ The awards will be presented following the noon banquet along with the gun auction. Please make plans to attend. Any IAA/NFAA member is welcome to attend the convention. You may register with your club secretary or you can register individually using the form in the newsletter. Please send your registration in by February 27, I have to notify the Convention Center of our final count so they can prepare the amount of food we will need. Clubs will be bidding on the shoots at the convention. A list of shoot dates is listed in the coming events. A delegate from your club must be present for your club to bid on a shoot. Your vote count will be determined by the number of NFAA/IAA members your club has listed at NFAA headquarters.
2 An auction for a Taurus Model Mag, stainless steel with black rubber grips, 7 shot revolver will be taking place at the convention. The opening bid for the gun is $472. Bidders must be present and have a valid Illinois FOID card. This gun is available from the July gun raffle when the ticket winner opted to take the cash. The Great Lakes Outdoor Sectional may be hosted by any IAA club in Illinois beginning in 2017 and may host it for 3 years if desired. A minimum 28 field is required, with an additional 14 if possible, and adequate parking and food available. Written bids must be submitted to Sara Rayhel, IAA Secretary, E 1425 th Ave., Robinson, IL by March 1, The board will vote on the bids in closed session at the convention. My apology to Steve Stover. If you hunted with a reputable and licensed guide, a letter of acknowledgment of the taking of any Big Game will be accepted in place of the above mentioned signatures. D. A PICTURE MUST ACCOMPANY ALL APPLICATIONS. BOWHUNTING FAIR CHASE RULES DEFINED: Any animal taken under any of the following circumstances shall not be considered for any award: YARDED IN DEEP SNOW, HELPLESS IN WATER, HELPLESS ON ICE, HELPLESS IN TRAP, WHILE CONFINED BEHIND FENCES AS ON GAME FARMS, ETC., IN DEFIANCE OF GAME LAWS OR OUT OF SEASON.
