5 USA CURLING Income and Expense This report of USA Curling s finances is designed to provide you with an overview of the organization s revenue and expenditures for the most recently completed and audited fiscal year, We anticipate completing our audit of within the next month, and will forward the financial overview to you then. The report is divided into two sections: Income and Expense. Each section has a pie-chart representation of the dollars and percentages associated with revenue sources and USA Curling Programs, as well as a descriptive list of sources of income and categories of expense. The Income chart is broken out into eight categories: USOC Funding (grants), Dues, Sponsorships, Grants (not USOC), Entry Fees, USOC Licensing, Donations, and Other. The Expense chart has three segments. Competitive Programs deals primarily with costs associated with sustained competitive success: all aspects of preparation for and participation in World, Olympic and Paralympic events. Growth & Support covers a wide spectrum of services to regions and clubs to our members and our fans programs that create growth and sustain excellence. It also includes programs that are designed to provide long-term support to USA Curling, for example, developing sponsorships and planned giving programs. Management & Operations holds costs of running the organization that are not related to specific programs. You will discover when you review the Expense page that some expenses span more than one program area. For example, all three components have staff wage and benefit costs associated with them. Both Competitive Programs and Growth & Support have Field of Play, officiating and/or icemaking expenses related to their respective championship events and both share costs associated with junior programs and wheelchair curling outreach. We have done our best to give a fair and reasoned picture of USA Curling s finances. We welcome your feedback and questions. Thank you. USA Curling Income & Expense - 1
