This is on top of the 150 million already invested in The Meads' project at the northern end of the town centre. The plans include: More than 200,000ft 2 of new shopping space with improved town centre car parking, new business spaces, new hotels and leisure spaces and new homes in and around the town centre. In autumn 2013, Queensmead s pedestrianised shopping area was regenerated. This included new paving, seating and improved lighting. Trees were planted along the length of Queensmead to make it more attractive to both shoppers and retailers year-round.
