4 WELCOME Welcome Parents, Family, Friends and Fans to Champlin Arena, the Home of Champlin Park Rebel Hockey The hockey season is upon us. Our athletes and coaches have been preparing to make another run at the Northwest Suburban Conference championship. Their hard work and dedication will be displayed through their efforts on and off the court. Vince Lombardi said, Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work. Even though Lombardi was a football coach, I believe his quote captures an important wider concept. Participation in after-school activities provides our young people with the ability to reveal and develop important life skills that extend beyond the hockey rink. We are very proud of our student activities which include fine arts, academics, and athletics. Thank you for attending this event and playing a role in supporting these students who have worked hard representing our community. Their participation in co-curricular activities is rewarding and also enhances their education. I applaud their participation. Thank you to everyone who has made this game possible. Good luck to the Coaches and the team in today s game. Go Rebels! Michael George Principal Welcome to the Champlin Ice Forum where the Champlin Park High School Boys Hockey team will bring another season of excitement and anticipation to our school! With the installation of good character, a strong custom of excellence and true commitment that has been implemented in the off-season; I am excited to see the results of dedicated athletes, coaches and parents pay off in the end. Our athletes and coaches have been working hard during the off-season and they are looking to take the next step towards another state tournament appearance. The tradition of Champlin Park Rebel Hockey can only grow! As a reminder, the Northwest Suburban Conference is continuing a conference-wide Sportsmanship Program. Our fans, coaches, and athletes will each be evaluated by officials for their level of sportsmanship. These results will be tabulated and comparisons between sports and schools will be made. Our student-athletes and coaches are dedicated to the continued improvement of sportsmanship at our school. As spectators, please join us in supporting both schools in a positive manner. Thank you for your support! Mathew Mattson Assistant Principal for Activities

9 COACHES I am very excited to be back with the Champlin Park Boys Hockey team. It is an honor and privilege that I am very grateful for. As coach, I would like to stress how important it is for everyone to work together. This is Champlin s team - not mine or the coaching staffs, or the players. We will be working hard with and for the community, both on and off the ice. We will always have an open door policy to all young athletes who wish to come to the locker room and meet the players. The youth in our community are clearly very important to us and the future of the program. As for the team this year, our goal is to start the tradition of having a puck possession team that relies on its speed to create scoring opportunities. We ve been practicing this way from day one, and will focus primarily on skill development. Great teams come from a group of skilled individuals who are willing to work together. I will expect the players to get up and down the ice in a hurry. This makes for an entertaining team that everyone in the community can be proud of. All of our coaches are committed to developing the young men in our program. We will work hard to make them better people and improve their skills and knowledge of the game. I am asking all of our fans to support the players and coaches. We will work hard to represent Champlin Park Hockey as best as we can. We are looking forward to an excellent year. Thank you in advance for all of your support. Left to Right:: Tom Potter, Pat Janostin, Bryce Macken, Matt Anderson (not pictured Matt Grant)
