Boston University Wins Regular-Season Title with Perfect Mark Boston University claimed the Patirot League Tournament title in its second season in the League in 2014, and in year three the Terriers have their first regular-season crown after completing an unbeaten Patriot League record with a 6-0 win over Bucknell on Saturday. The Terriers are the fourth different Patriot League team to finish unbeaten in League play in the past four years, following Lafayette (2012), American (2013) and Bucknell (2014). Twelve the last 14 regular-season champions have gone unbeaten in League play, and 10 of those previous 11 unbeaten squads also won the League Tournament. Last Berth, Seeding on the Line on Final Saturday All three of Saturday s Patriot League contests will be key towards determining the last spot and seeding in the League Tournament. Bucknell and American are both in the field as they meet in Washington, D.C., with the winner earning the No. 2 seed in the League tourney. Holy Cross and Lafayette are vying for the final spot in the League Tournament, with the Crusaders hosting Lehigh and the Leopards welcoming Colgate. Both teams are at 2-3 and Holy Cross would win a head-tohead tiebreak by virtue of its win over Lafayette on Saturday, but the Leopards would make the field in a three-way tiebreak if both teams win and Bucknell loses or if both teams lose Patriot League Tournament Boston University will host the 2015 Patriot League Tournament at New Balance Field on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7. The Terriers have earned the top seed in the field for the first time as the regular-season champion, and are in the League Tournament for the third time in as many seasons in the Patriot League. American has made it to the League Tournament in all 15 of its Patriot League seasons, while Bucknell will make a League record 18th appearance and eighth consecutive trip. Semifinal contests will be played on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the championship on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. The League champion receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The entire tournament will be available on Patriot League Network at patriotleague.tv. Non-League Finales Five non-league contests are also on tap for the final weekend of the regular season, including a pair for No. 15 Boston University. The Terriers, who moved op two spots in this week s NFHCA Top 20 poll, will visit Harvard on Wednesday before a trip to No. 5 Wake Forest on Sunday. Holy Cross will host Dartmouth on Wednesday while Lehigh goes to Brown and Lafayette welcomes Yale on Sunday in the other non-league finales. Today s Scholar-Athletes, Tomorrow s Leaders 1
