This is not the first time the Saints have called-up a player from the University s club team. Former Head Coach Greg Carvel called up Saints baseball player Carter Franz in the second half of the season. Franz played in three games, including one conference game. ABOUT NO. 5/6 CORNELL Cornell is the last unbeaten team in the country at and is coming off a weekend sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard at home in Lynah Rink. The Big Red had scored three or more goals in all but one game this season, including two games with five goals. Rookie goaltender Matthew Galajda is second in goals against average (1.32) and fourth in save percentage (.942). As a team, Cornell is first in scoring defense (1.33) and ninth in scoring offense (3.50). It also has the sixthbest power play (27.3%) and top-ranked penalty kill unit (96.7%). THE SERIES WITH THE BIG RED The Saints last win in Lynah Rink came in when current senior Nolan Gluchowski factored into the scoring in a 4-2 win. Gunnar Hughes, Woody Hudson and Patrick Doherty also scored in that game for the Saints. St. Lawrence is all-time in Lynah Rink. St. Lawrence has not beaten the Big Red since January 30, 2016 when Joe Sullivan scored the game-winning goal 20 seconds into overtime at Appleton Arena for a 2-1 win. LAST SEASON AGAINST CORNELL Cornell swept the regular season series in with a one-goal win in Ithaca. At Cornell, Ben Finkelstein and Woody Hudson helped the Saints erase a two-goal deficit and tie the game at 2-2 in the second period, but Brendan Smith scored the game winner for Cornell less than two minutes after Hudson had buried the equalizer. At St. Lawrence, Cornell opened up a 3-0 lead in the final seven minutes of the first period. Ben Masella and Joe Sullivan scored for St. Lawrence to pull within one, but the Saints couldn t fully close the gap in a 4-2 loss. ABOUT COLGATE The Raiders are off to a hot start thanks, in large part, to the goaltending of sophomore Colton Point. Point has already earned two ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors for the season. Point leads Division I goaltenders in both goals against average (1.16) and save percentage (.962). Colgate also boasts the fourth-best scoring defense in the nation at just 1.83 goals per game Saints Men s Hockey Notes 2
