3 Check-in Protocol 1. There will be an initial check point prior to entering the fair grounds. 4-H Council and the Livestock Superintendent will work together to ensure this check point is operating. At this check point, 4-H members will be asked to display their livestock records. If records are present and filled-out properly, they will be allowed to proceed into the fair grounds. If not, the 4-H member will be asked to pull over and properly fill-out record forms before proceeding. (NO LIVESTOCK FORMS WILL BE COLLECTED AT THIS CHECK POINT.) 2. Prior to animals coming off the trailer, record forms must be turned into the check-in table by the 4-H member. The records must be handed to a volunteer at the table. 3. After the record forms are received, a volunteer will check-off, in the black binder, that the record sheets have been received and that they are properly filled out. The 4-H member will remain at the table during this time. 4. The volunteer will verbally tell the 4-H member that they may unload their animals. 5. If record sheets are not signed, filled-out or not properly completed, the 4-H member will be asked to pull their trailer out of line and not to unload animals until the record sheet is properly filled-out. The 4-H member must go to the back of the line to unload and re-submit their record sheet. 6. It is recommended that one family at a time unload animals. If hauling and unloading multiple 4-H members animals, the 4-H members need to communicate this with the volunteers in order to line-up the right animal with the right 4-H member in order to avoid confusion. 7. One family at a time while checking and weighing-in to avoid confusion. 8. If the livestock committee is concerned with not having enough volunteers for check-in, they need to communicate this with the livestock superintendent or Educator. LIVESTOCK AUCTION TERMS OF THE LIVESTOCK AUCTION AT THE FAIR *All accounts are to be settled the night of the sale since 4-H club members do not receive their money for the sale of their animal until accounts are settled. However, if other settlement or arrangements need to be made, you or your representative may contact the clerk of the sale on auction night. All checks will be made payable to the Pulaski County 4-H Auction. 3% of the sale will be paid to the Fair Board for advertising and livestock building maintenance. One copy of the sales receipt is required for trucker to pick up animals.

Substitute showmen must be approved in writing by the 4-H show manager, 24 hours prior to showing of the animal(s) needing a substitute showman. Requests will only be granted for medical emergencies, conflicts with showing other animals, or circumstances deemed unavoidable by the 4-H show manager.
