3 OK FALLS SALE - MONDAY DEC 8TH Today lighter receipts here in OK Falls with 200 head on offer. Again a excellent sale with a good mix of butcher cows and bulls along with feeder cattle. Cox Valley Herefords set the pace today with 2425 lb butcher bulls at , their 1660 lb cows Ian and Bev Smith filled the ring with 11 butcher cows, their 1448 lb cows traded to , their 1553 lb cows topped the trade at Pat Lawrence with 2160 lb bulls went to Margarete Ann Bugeaud from Midway with some excellent bred cows today, their young cows traded to $ per head. The Chute Creek Ranch young bred cows traded to $ , black angus and bred black angus. 8 OLD AND INJURED CATTLE BROUGHT TO YARDS While it is the producers' and truckers' responsibility to ensure cattle of very poor quality are not brought to auction, BC Livestock has a responsibility as well to make certain only cattle fit for sale are brought into the ring. BC Livestock's policy is to not accept cattle that are brought in to our yards that are obviously in very poor condition. Cattle that are visibly: *very sick *lame *malnourished *very old and barely able to walk *noticeably recently injured (open sores, broken leg, missing eye etc) BC Livestock is to immediately refuse accepting the animal and advise the producer to take the animal back home. NOTICE In cases where immediate transportation back to the ranch is not possible, (truck not available, cattle unfit for transport once offloaded, dies before it can be returned, CCIA order to destroy the animal etc..) ***BC Livestock insurance will not apply and no payment to the producer will be made on cattle that are/were unfit for transportation or sale *** ***Hartford Insurance will not apply and no payment to the producer will be made on cattle that are/were unfit for transportation or sale*** ***If an unfit animal dies or is destroyed while in BC Livestock yards, the producer will be responsible for dead removal charges, approximately $250 per dead animal.*** GET YOUR OLS TUBS AT BC LIVESTOCK TODAY!
