ROBERTSON COUNTY FAIR The Robertson County Fair will be held March 26th April 4th, The Queen s Coronation will be held on March 26th at 6:00 p.m. at the Fireman s Hall. Good Luck to Queen Candidates and Exhibitors!!!! RCFA REMINDER If your animal loses its RCFA ear tag please report it immediately to your superintendent. Failure to do so may result in you not being eligible to show. Visit rcfa.org website for current information on the Robertson County Fair in 2016!!!

2 RCFA LAMB CLINICS Sunday, March 6th at 2:00p.m. at the Robertson County Fairgrounds. You should bring your lambs to have their weight checked and practice with them. Each Exhibitor must attend 2 clinics if you have shown 3 years or less. If you have any questions contact Joe or Kathy Hedrick at (979) RCFA RABBIT VALIDATION & MAKE-UP CLINIC Thursday, March 10th from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the NEW EXTENSION OFFICE located near THE RANCH COMMUNITY PARK from Franklin. Make up Clinic will be after tag in at the Extension Office. RCFA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Seniors please come by the Extension office to pick up a RCFA scholarship application after the fair. They are DUE to Jimmie McCullough-306 Cedar Street in Hearne. It must be in his office NOT in the mail, so please hand deliver this scholarship to Mr. McCullough. Remember Seniors need to work the Monday night concession stand at the RCFA Auction if they are going to submit an R.C.F.A scholarship application. SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE IS USUALLY A WEEK AFTER THE FAIR IS OVER. ATTENTION: ALL R.C.F.A SALE EXHIBITORS AND R.C.F.A ANNUAL MEETING Buyer s addresses will be at the Extension Office and with your school s Ag teachers. You must mail your Buyer s Thank You notes to Melanie Stellbauer before April 15, 2016 at 102 South Magnolia Street Hearne, TX You must have stamps on your Buyers Thank You letters, if you do not get your Buyers Thank You letter to Melanie before April 15th, you will NOT get your Check for your animal!!!!!! The annual meeting for the Robertson County Fair Association will be held on Sunday, April 24th at 1:30p.m. in the Fireman s Hall. If you were a sale exhibitor, you must pick up your check and your buyer s picture at the annual meeting. The picture that you pick up belongs to your buyer and you must deliver it to your buyer. R.C.F.A 2016 SHOW PICTURES You will be able to pick up Fair pictures after Monday, April 11th If you are in Hearne or Calvert you can go by Images Hair Salon and see Melanie Stellbauer, if you are in Bremond, you need to see JoAnn Biezenski at South Star Bank and if you are in Franklin you can go by the Extension Office and see Dana Yow. You need to get your pictures picked up as soon as possible.

3 ATTENTION: LAMB AND GOAT EXHIBITORS The Deadline for ordering tags for Validation of the 2016 State Fair of Texas is April 11th by 5:00p.m. Please call us at the Extension Office to let us know how many tags to order for your show lamb and goat. The tags will cost $15.00 each and you must pay for all tags ordered, if we run short, the late-tags will cost more when ordered after tag-in. ATTENTION: SWINE EXHIBITORS The Deadline for ordering tags for Validation of the 2016 State Fair of Texas is April 15th by 5:00p.m. Please call us at the Extension Office to let us know how many tags to order for your show swine. The tags will cost $15.00 each and you must pay for all tags ordered, if we run short, the late-tags will cost more when ordered after tag-in. ATTENTION: REGISTERED BREEDING HEIFER EXHIBITORS If you are going to show a Registered Breeding Heifer at the 2016 Fall Major Livestock Shows, you must call the Extension Office at by Friday, May 6th by 5:00p.m. to let us know how many heifers you will be validating. Ownership DEADLINE is JUNE 30, DISTRICT 8 HORSE SHOW Date: June 20-21, 2016 Location: Bell County Expo Center, Belton, TX ATTENTION: STEER EXHIBITORS The Deadline for ordering tags for the Major Steer Validation is April 15th by 5:00 p.m. All steers that are showing at the Major Stock shows for the 2016 Fall shows and 2017 Spring shows, they must be validated to show. Please call the Extension Office to let us know how many tags to order for your show steers. Steer tags will cost $15.00 each and you must pay for all tags ordered, if we run short, the late-tags will cost more when ordered after tag-in. REMINDER ON TAG ORDERS FOR SWINE, LAMB, GOAT AND STEERS. PAYMENT MUST ACCOMPAN- NY ORDER FORM. ONLY PAID ORDERS WILL BE SUBMITTED. NO PAYMENT NO TAGS!!!! Horse Validation Information Your horse must be properly validated to be shown at the District and/or State Horse Show. Horse Validation will be completed through 4-H Connect. See instructions here. Please read instructions carefully. March 1, 2016 through April 15, 2016 will have the cost of $10 per horse. April 16, 2016 through May 1, 2016 will have the cost of $20 per horse. Horses will be validated by family. (You will list under only one child, but all youth in that family will have the ability to show that horse.) You may pay with a credit card horse-show/

4 DISTRICT 8 RETREAT LAB (LEADERSHIP LAB) District 8 Retreat Lab will be held Sunday, June 26th through Wednesday, June 29th this year. D8 Retreat is held at the T Bar M Resort and Conference Center in New Braunfels, Texas. You must be 14 years old or older to attend the lab. If you would like to attend, please call the Extension Office so we can get you registered. Registration deadline is Friday May, 20th by 5:00p.m. DISTRICT 8 OFFICER APPLICATION: If you are interested in running for a District 8 officer position, please call the Extension office at You must be 15 years old and up to run and be able to attend D8 RETREAT LAB (Leadership Lab) on June 26th 29th at T Bar M Resort and Conference Center in New Braunfels, Texas. SOUTHEAST D-8 D 8 4-H 4 H CAMP It is time to register for 4-H Camp July 8th-10th at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine. This camp is like the past 4-H camps. It is open to ages 8 to 13 years old and ages 14 to 18 serve as teen leader. We will leave Friday, July 8th and return on Sunday, July 10th. Come enjoy leadership activities, games and 4-H fun. You can pick up Registration forms at the Extension Office. Deadline for Registration and Fees is June 1st to the Extension Office by 5:00 p.m. Registration Forms will be in the May newsletter. Call if you have any questions D8 CAMP-TEEN LEADER APPLICATIONS We need teen and group leaders (Ages 14-18) to help put on workshops and help with activities. If you are interested in being a leader at the D8 Camp, please call or come by the office to be put on the Teen Leader List.
