1 GAERWEN SMITHFIELD CHRISTMAS PRIME BEEF SHOW AND SALE MARKET REPORT FRIDAY 5 TH DECEMBER 2014 The Gaerwen Primestock Beef Show and Sale held on Friday 5 TH December. The judge Chris Stubbs Esq of C Webb & Sons, Northwich, Cheshire after careful deliberation on the excellent selection of locally bred show cattle awarded the Supreme Champion to a heifer owned by Mr Gwyn H Roberts, Garnedd Fawr, Gaerwen. The heifer weighed 584kg and was met by strong bidding from local and distant buyers. The well attended sale ring witnessed the heifer realising a price of 350ppk which was bought by the judge Chris Stubbs Esq of C Webb & Sons, Northwich, Cheshire. A close reserve champion was awarded to Messrs E & G Hughes, Bwchanan, Mynydd Mechell, Amlwch with a steer that weighed 660kg, the steer later sold for 254ppk to Mr C H Gore, Hot Hill Farm, Leigh, Stoke on Trent.
