2 Introduction (Who am I) Local Bigsby Road resident (10yrs), married to Georgina (schools swimming teacher and Coach Retford Swimming Club and Nottinghamshire County Squad), 2 Children in local schools Last 10 years working for part of the Department of Health heading multi-million programmes delivering national IT systems and analytical services for the NHS in England Owner RUN2U Event Management - large scale road races (e.g. half marathons) and trail races (e.g. Sherwood Pines and Edwinstowe Trail Races) and providing advice and support to other events (e.g. Bluebell Wood colour dash) Member Retford Athletic and Running Club Volunteer for local causes and events (incl. Retford Christmas Market 2015)

3 Retford Half Marathon Intro Annual Half Marathon (13.1 mile road race) and Family Fun Run (approx 1.5 miles) Organised by Retford Athletic and Running Club Start/Finish - Retford Oaks Academy (incl registration, changing, venue for Fun Run) Retford's largest participant sporting event - approx 700 runners took part in the 2015 Retford half marathon (over 50% increase since club took over the organisation of the event in 2014) event (8th March) sold out in January - due to success increasing race cap to 900 for 2016 event (13th March) Runner profile - In addition to local runners, we have runners from across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and further afield. Approx 25% club runners with remainder local amateur runners. Age range

7 Sponsorship what does it involve? Financial donation and/or donation of resources (e.g. Event logistics - Pedestrian barriers, drinks), or prizes and/or special offers (e.g. Prize vouchers to race winners and/or discounts to entrants/supporters) No minimum level but the higher the donation the more we can do to promote your involvement (e.g. Sponsorship of race trophies/prizes) Promotion of your involvement in our online and offline communications to runners in the lead up to the race, on race day, and post event (e.g. Local media coverage (radio, print, online), Flyers in race packs, banners at start/finish, logos on commemorative race t-shirt presented to each runner, promotion on Twitter and Facebook page (700+ likes), and on Retford AC website)

8 Where does the funding go? Allows us to keep the entry fees low ( 16/ 18) and to make the fun run free of charge to enter (encouraging local residents of all ages to take part in the event) Donation to local charities incl Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice Equipment for and development of Retford AC Junior section

Investing in local community Positive exposure to your business by supporting local event Opportunity to raise or re-enforce awareness amongst customers and future customers - helping to increase custom both on the day and in the future Networking opportunities through engagement with others event partners as well as runners
