USES: Rubar SP550 Spray is a dual cmpnent instant-set prduct designed and manufactured fr waterprfing and surface prtectin. Rubar SP550 Spray is an elastmer mdified bitumen that frms a seamless prtective cating designed fr prtectin f high traffic areas r where nn-slip is required n cncrete slabs. Rubar SP550 Spray is cld applied and requires n pen flames r heaters. Rubar SP550 Spray can be applied t varius types f substrates which include: wd, metal, cncrete, brick. Areas f applicatin can be, but nt limited t, cncrete fundatins, retaining walls, rfs, flwer pts, etc. Rubar SP550 Spray is envirnmentally friendly, as it is water-based and is a safe alternative t cnventinal ht applied bitumen r slvent based catings. It is a highly flexible seamless membrane that resists cracking and is unaffected by acid rain, UV and airbrne chemical pllutants in industrial areas. 2. PREPARATION: 1. All surfaces shuld be dry and free frm dust, grease and lse items. Lse items must be cleaned away; pressure wash surfaces and allwed t dry. 2. All surfaces shuld be structurally sund and stable befre applicatin. 3. Previusly painted surfaces in sund cnditin: Remve lse and flaking paint back t a sund substrate and a firm edge by scraping and sanding. 4. Previusly painted surfaces in pr cnditin: Cmpletely remve paint by mst apprpriate means e.g. scraping, curse sanding r stripping with PAINT STRIPPER. 5. Use waterprfing membrane t cver jints, large gaps, pipe wrk, and wall edges. 3. APPLICATION: 1. Rubar SP550 Spray is recmmended fr applicatin n prjects with areas ver 250m². It is applied by an apprved applicatr with a special spray gun and team. 2. This applicatin methd typically cmprises f a 2 t 3 cat applicatin f high build leaving a 2mm thick cating. 3. D nt apply t wet surfaces, during r immediately after rain shwers. 4. Apply with an apprpriate brush. Page 2 f 5

3 5. Ambient temperature must be abve 5 C befre applicatin. 6. Apply tw even catings using 1 litre per square meter per cat. 7. Cures t tuch in 1-4 hurs (at 20 C) and shuld be cured within 48 hurs. 8. Allw the first cat t cure befre applying subsequent cats. Depending n temperatures it can take 1 t 4 hurs befre Rubar SP550 Spray will have cured enugh t apply secnd cating. 9. Apply ne cat f Rubar AC10 Activatr after each cat f Rubar SP550 Spray r simultaneusly with Rubar SP550 Spray fr prduct t set instantly. Wash entire surface with water between cats t remve Rubar AC10 Activatr. 10. A Reflective Tpcat can be applied t prvide a slar reflective finish. NOTE: When using Rubar SP550 Spray an applicatin rate f 1 liter per square meter per cat is t be maintained. 4. STORAGE AND HANDLING: 1. Stre in a cl dry place with cntainers tightly sealed. 2. D nt allw uncured material t freeze. 3. Rubar SP550 Spray is nn-flammable but it is recmmended that temperatures abve 200 C be avided. 4. Keep ut f reach f children. 5. SPILLAGE AND CLEANING: 1. Large spills: Pump int plastic cntainers and dispse in accrdance with lcal regulatins. 2. Small spills: Use inert absrbent material (sand, sawdust, etc.) and then lad int suitable cntainers fr dispsal. 3. General cleaning: Distilled water r Paraffin. (D nt use tap water.) 6. SAFTY PRECAUTIONS: 1. D nt add tap water t this prduct as it will cause the prduct t gel. 2. Drying and curing time will depend largely n ambient temperature and humidity. 3. Rubar SP550 Spray is slightly alkaline. Observe nrmal health and safety precautins with applicatin f Rubar SP550 Spray. 4. Wear eye prtectin and ther suitable persnal prtective equipment. 5. 4 7. CAUTIONS: 1. D nt add tap water t this prduct as it will cause the prduct t gel. 2. Cncrete when new cntinues t emit r absrb water vapur, ften, even when it appears t be dry. 3. Rubar SP550 Spray when applied will create a vapur barrier preventing vapur emissin, causing an accumulatin f water vapur pressure. 4. It is impssible t say hw lng cncrete needs t be left t be sure it is dry as there are t many factrs affecting this, the quality f the cncrete, the amunt f rain it receives, the temperature and humidity. 5. If the cncrete has heavy rain n it, it will absrb sme f this and take lnger t dry. This can mean that in situatins where the rf has been expsed t heavy rain and then expsed t ht temperatures, bubbles r blisters can appear befre Rubar SP550 Spray fully bnds t the rf surface; which can take up t 72 hurs. Where the material has fully bnded n such blistering will ccur. 6. In sme cases the vapur pressure can cause the bubbles t burst creating pin hles. 7. Once Rubar SP550 Spray fully bnded n bubbling will ccur as the bnd strength f the membrane is circa 200 PSI whereas the vapur pressure will nly be 1 PSI. Fr these reasns we recmmend the fllwing when applying Rubar SP550 Spray t new cncrete 8. Leave the new cncrete fr as lng as pssible befre applying the membrane, ideally ver 28 days. 9. Brush any lse dust frm the surface. 10. Apply Rubar PR100 Primer t the cncrete surface t settle the dust and t prmte adhesin. 11. Abut 3 days after applicatin walk the rf t see if any bubbles r blisters have appeared. 12. Where this has happened split the bubbles releasing the water and re-apply Rubar SP550 Spray t these areas 13. Leave the affected areas a further 3 days t en sure that n further bubbles appear. NOTE: N new bubbles will appear after the membrane is fully bnded t the rf and the appearance f ANY bubbles is mst likely n rfs that have been expsed t water r heat r a cmbinatin f bth. 8.
