We have worked tremendously to prepare a tournament which will balance good competition level, cultural experience and friendship. A big thank to our sponsors and partners. We hope you will enjoy this challenge in paradise and that we will have great matches during these five days of competition. For all of you who travel from close neighbourhood or from far, thank you for your participation! You are making our event a great event! We have started three years ago with 83 players and we will have 120 competitors this year! Lets continue together to develop our sport in Oceania! 10 Are you ready for a tennis challenge in paradise? Etes-vous près à un défi tennis au paradis? It all started three years ago when four west-pacific tennis coaches met in Lautoka, Fiji, around a nice light Fijian kava and decided that more junior tennis competitions were needed for young and talented Oceania players. Three months later, the Vanuatu Tennis Federation answered the call in organizing the first Regional Tennis Championships with an impressive support from Telecom Vanuatu Limited. Since then, what our friends from Fiji and Solomon Islands call simply the TVL had become one the fastest growing tennis junior tournament in the region welcoming players from Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua-New-Guinea, New-Caledonia, Kiribati, New-Zealand and Australia. This year's edition will be more exciting with one team from French-Polynesia making the trip, and the ITF Regional Tennis Centre sending their best Under 16 elite players. The coming of new sponsors like SOUTH-SEA SHIPPING, SOUTH-SEA SERVICES, SUN PRODUCTION, THE TOURISM OFFICE and PACIFIC PETROLEUM who are joining TVL, VASANOC, BRED BANK, the MELANESIAN and the CERCLE SPORTIF will allow to improve the tournament and uplift the organizations' standards in order to cater for over 130 juniors players and coaches.
