The Falcons will host New Mexico in their home finale on Wednesday, Nov. 15, before traveling to UNLV for the final contest of the season on Saturday, Nov. 18. It is the Falcons first meeting of the year against the Lobos and Rebels. FOLLOW ALONG FROM HOME Video and stats will be available for this week s home contest with New Mexico, while both are also scheduled to be offered for the road match at UNLV. Please note that the start time for the match in Las Vegas has been moved up two hours and will now begin at 1:00 p.m. (PT). SENIOR SALUTE Air Force will honor its lone senior Piper Heineck during the team's Senior Night Celebration prior to Wednesday s match. SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS New Mexico and UNLV faced each other Monday, with the Lobos earning a 3-0 win. New Mexico, which has played four matches in five days, improved to on the year and 7-10 in conference play, while UNLV dropped to 8-21 overall and 4-12 in the Mountain West. New Mexico has two players ranked fourth in their respective MW stat categories, as Lauren Twitty holds a 3.71 kills-per-set average and Ashley Kelsey holds a 4.35 digs-per-set average. New Mexico is ranked third in digs (14.60), while UNLV is listed among the top five in blocks (fourth, 2.34). SERIES HISTORY Air Force is 3-36 all-time against New Mexico and 3-37 in its lifetime series with UNLV. The Falcons last victory over the Lobos came during a road contest in 2003 and the Falcons have taken just seven sets off of the Lobos since that time. Air Force last defeated UNLV in 2015, sweeping the Rebels to snap a 31-match losing skid against their conference counterparts from Las Vegas. The Falcons have not faced either school this season. AIR FORCE IN THE CONFERENCE RANKINGS Entering the final week of the Mountain West season, Piper Heineck and Abigail Miksch are ranked among the conference leaders in four different stat categories. Heineck is ranked third in hitting (.352) and fifth in blocking (1.25), while Miksch is listed fifth in points (4.10) and sixth in kills (3.51). For the overall season, Heineck is listed fifth in blocks (1.23) and seventh in hitting (.316), while Miksch is ranked 10th in kills (3.17). In addition, Denise Ssozi is ranked eighth in overall kills (3.23), while the team is ranked fifth in service aces (1.28). HEINECK TAKES OVER AIR FORCE DI BLOCKING RECORDS With eight assisted stops against Utah State on Nov. 11, Piper Heineck became the Academy s single-season leader for both assisted and total blocks at the Division I level. Heineck, who equaled the program s DI single-season record for total blocks against Boise State on Nov. 9, accounted for the record-setting stop on her first block in the second set against the Aggies. The senior took over sole possession of first on the team s single-season assisted blocks' list four stops later, with a block that tied the set at 16-all. MORE MOVERS AND SHAKERS Denise Ssozi and Shanleigh Conlan both debuted on the program s Division I single-season standings for their respective stat categories during the contest at Utah State on Nov. 11, as Ssozi debuted in seventh on the kills list with a 17K performance and Conlan debuted in ninth on the assists' list with 24 helpers. In addition, with her final assisted stopblock at Boise State on Nov. 9, Kathleen Medill entered the top-10 list in total blocks. Piper Heineck joined Shaylor Billings (co, 1999), Summer Koons (1999), Delavane Diaz (2000, 2003), Lamecca Jefferson (2003), Nichole Stilwell (co, 2009), Caroline Kurtz (2010), Taylor Parker (2014), Akokwe Clement (2015), Kathleen Medill (defensive ) and Denise Ssozi (offensive ). HEINECK S BLOCK PARTY Assisting on 13 blocks during the 3-2 victory over San Diego State on Nov. 5, Piper Heineck broke the Academy s all-time single-match record that had stood since 1991 (Jen Block, 12) and the Division I record that had stood since 2004 (Kristin Hamlett, 11). She also added a solo stop for a new Air Force DI single-match record of 14 total blocks, bettering the previous record of 12 that she had set as a sophomore. With those stops the highest single-match performance in the conference and second-highest single-match performance in the nation this season Heineck accounted for the first double-double of her career (15 kills-14 blocks) and helped the team account for new Air Force DI records in assisted (46) and total (25.0) blocks. FUN FACT After earning just two wins in its first 36 meetings with San Diego St, Air Force has won four of the last seven. PUTTING UP A WALL The Falcons registered an Air Force DI record of 25.0 blocks during their ictory over San Diego State on Nov. 5. The Falcons, who accounted for a program-best 46 assisted stops during the contest, saw seven different Falcons record at least two blocks. Backed by an Academy-record 13 assisted stops, Piper Heineck led the team with an Air Force DI-best mark of 14 total blocks. Kathleen Medill (nine; all assisted), Lauren Heldt (seven; all assisted), Denise Ssozi (six; all assisted), Abigail Miksch (five; one solo, four assisted), Cambria Galloway (five; all assisted) and Mackenzie Robertson (two; both assisted) also contributed the record-breaking block party. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE With 13 assisted blocks against San Diego State on Nov. 5, Piper Heineck became just the third Air Force DI player to record over 100 assisted stops in a career, joining Taylor Parker (115) and Summer Koons (104). FALCONS COMPLETE SEASON SWEEP OF FRESNO STATE With a 26-24, 25-17, 21-25, 18-25, 15-8 victory over Fresno State on Nov. 3, Air Force swept its season series with the Bulldogs for the first time in program history and improved 6-9 in the all-time series. MEDILL ENTERS AIR FORCE DIVISION I SINGLE-SEASON TOP-10 Assisting on four blocks during the Falcons' 3-2 victory over Fresno State on Nov. 3, Kathleen Medill debuted on the program's Division I single-season top-10 list for assisted blocks. MIKSCH TALLIES SECOND 23-KILL PERFORMANCE Abigail Miksch collected the fifth 20-kill match of her career on Oct. 21, as she recorded a match-high 23 scores against Nevada. Miksch, who equaled her career-high with that performance, is just the sixth Division I Falcon to collect at least five 20-kill matches in a career. The junior has now collected at least 20 kills in matches against Nevada (23), Jacksonville State (23), Colgate (22), Grand Canyon (22) and Fresno State (20). FALCONS SWEEP MOUNTAIN WEST AWARDS Denise Ssozi and Kathleen Medill were honored by the Mountain West on Oct. 16, as Air Force swept the league s weekly awards. Ssozi was named the MW Offensive Player of the Week, while Medill captured MW Defensive Player of the Week honors. It is the first conference honor for both Ssozi and Medill. FALCONS REACH 10-WIN PLATEAU With a pair of conference victories over the Oct weekend, Air Force reached the 10-win plateau for the fourth-straight season. It is the sixth time since joining the Division I level that the Falcons have accounted for double-digit win totals in a single season ( , , , , , 2017). SWINDLE NABS 20TH COACHING WIN The Oct. 14 sweep of Boise State marked the 20th coaching victory for second-year head coach Marc Swindle. TWICE AS NICE With a 3-1 win over Utah State on Oct. 12 and a 3-0 sweep of Boise State on Oct. 14, the Falcons recorded back-to-back conference wins for the first time since 2014, when they defeated San Jose State and Nevada on the road (Oct ). Air Force, which opened that MW campaign with three-straight wins over Nevada, San Jose State, and Boise State (Sept. 25-Oct. 2), also recorded consecutive conference wins in 2013 (Fresno State, San Jose State on Nov ) and in 1999 (New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV on Oct ). HEINECK S BLOCK PARTY Piper Heineck captured her 100th block of the season on Oct. 14, becoming the first Air Force DI blocker to reach that plateau in multiple seasons. Heineck, who tallied 111 stops as a junior, is one of only three players to collect 100 blocks in a season, joining Summer Koons (134 in 1999) and Taylor Parker (133 in 2015). MORE BIG NUMBERS Shanleigh Conlan nabbed her 1500th career assist against Boise State on Oct. 14, becoming the program's seventh Division I setter to reach that plateau. She is one of two current Falcons on that list (Sarah Hellman).

4 POSTING SOME MEMORABLE NUMBERS With her final block at San Diego State on Oct. 7, Piper Heineck registered her 75th assisted block of the season and the 250th total block of her career. With those numbers, the senior is currently tied for fourth in single-season assisted stops and tied for fifth on the program s Division I career list. OVERTIME, VOLLEYBALL STYLE Air Force registered a thrilling victory over San Diego State in the second set of its Oct. 7 match marking the squad s fourth-highest single-set score since 25-point scoring began in The Falcons 31 points only trails single-set outings against Colorado (35 in 2012), San Jose State (34 in 2014) and Nevada (32 in 2012). TALES FROM THE ROAD The Falcons picked up their first-ever victory in Fresno on Oct. 5, when they defeated the Bulldogs in a five-set thriller (15-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-15, 15-13). With the win over Fresno State, Air Force has now captured conference victories at Fresno State (2017), Nevada (2012, 2014), New Mexico (2003), San Diego State (2015), San Jose State (2014), Utah State (2015) and Wyoming (1999, 2003). THE BIG With seven assisted blocks against Colorado State on Sept. 30, Piper Heineck became the seventh DI Air Force player to record at least 200 such stops in a career. She joined Summer Koons (282), Taylor Parker (260), Kristin Hamlett (249), Raquel Rosas (207), Michelle Harrington (207) and Nicole Stilwell (205) as Air Force's DI players to reach that blocking plateau. REACHING ANOTHER MILESTONE With 32 assists against San Jose State on Sept. 23, Shanleigh Conlan became the eighth DI Air Force player to record 1400 helpers in a career. Against Nevada, two nights earlier, Piper Heineck tallied three solo blocks to become the eighth DI Falcon to record 40 solos in a career. AIR FORCE IN CONFERENCE OPENERS The Falcons are 2-17 all-time in Mountain West openers. STAT BLAST... NON-CONFERENCE EDITION Three Falcons finished the non-conference portion of the 2017 season ranked among the top of the Mountain West. Denise Ssozi was listed third in kills (3.94) and points (4.39), while Piper Heineck was ranked fourth in blocks (1.21) and sixth in aces (0.33), and Shanleigh Conlan posted top-10 rankings in assists (ninth, 8.29) and aces (10th, 0.29). SSOZI NAMED TO NORTHERN COLORADO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Denise Ssozi earned her second all-tourney nod on Sept. 16, when she was selected to the all-tournament team of the Hampton Inn and Suites Northern Colorado Classic. During the Falcons 1-2 weekend, she collected 38 kills, 24 digs, four blocks, three assists and two aces. THE YOUNG WILL LEAD In the opening set against Arkansas Pine Bluff on Sept. 15, the Falcons starting rotation featured a lineup of five freshmen and one sophomore. With a lineup that included first-year players Andi Ahlers, Alex King, Kathleen Medill, Kelly Motes, Mackenzie Robertson and Brynn Sulte, Air Force won the opening set by a nine-point margin (25-16), out-killed the Golden Lions 14-8, hit over 300 (.314) and kept Arkansas Pine Bluff at negative hitting (-.027). KING, MIKSCH NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT SQUAD After helping Air Force split with Liberty (1-1) and Southern Utah (1-1) at the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic, Alex King and Abigail Miksch were named to the all-tournament team. CLIMBING THE STANDINGS After tallying 32 assists in the victory over Southern Utah on Sept. 9, Shanleigh Conlan became just the eighth Air Force setter in Division I history to reach the 1300-assist mark in a career. WHAT A COMEBACK! In the fourth-set against Southern Utah on Sept. 8, Air Force overcame a deficit to claim a thrilling victory marking one of the program s largest comebacks in recent history. HEINECK NOTCHES FIRST 20-KILL MATCH Piper Heineck became just the sixth Air Force blocker to record a 20-kill match at the DI level, tallying 20 kills on.412 hitting during the five-set thriller with Southern Utah on Sept. 8. Heineck, who added seven kills to her past high, joined Brooke Akers ( ), Shaylor Billings ( ), Kristin Hamlett ( ), Summer Koons ( ) and Nicole Stilwell ( ). 10 HEINECK NAMED CADET-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Following a stellar weekend on the East Coast, Piper Heineck was named the Academy s Cadet-Athlete of the Week on Sept 5. The senior helped Air Force to a 2-2 record, including victories over Army West Point and The Citadel. Backed by.846 hitting against The Citadel, a six-block outing against Columbia and a three-ace match against Army West Point, Heineck accounted for 32 kills, seven service aces, 14 blocks and 48 points during the four weekend contests. AIR FORCE SWEEPS ARMY WEST POINT The Falcons 25-20, 25-20, victory over Army West Point on Sept. 1 snapped a six-match skid to their service academy counterparts a span that dated back to The win, which improved the Falcons to 10-7 in the series, also marked Air Force s first sweep since HEINECK S BLOCK PARTY Following a 14-block performance on Aug. 30-Sept. 2, Piper Heineck debuted in the top 10 on all three of the program s Division I career blocking records. The senior entered the rankings tied for ninth in solo blocks and ranked 10th in both assisted blocks and total blocks. SSOZI TALLIES FIRST 20-KILL MATCH Denise Ssozi registered the first 20-kill match of her career on Aug. 30, when she tallied 23 scores against Navy. She is the third member of the current Air Force lineup (Abigail Miksch, Elizabeth Pennington) to account for a 20-kill match and the 17th Falcon to do so since FALCONS PLACE TWO ON ALL-TOURNAMENT SQUAD Piper Heineck and Elizabeth Pennington were named to the Bobcat Classic All-Tournament Team, as the Falcons finished second in the overall standings (Illinois, Air Force, Montana State, Gonzaga). It is the second all-tournament selection for Heineck and the third for Pennington.
