1 September 17th, 2015 W H Weekly Warrior News 1700 Buckeye Loop Road, N.E., Winter Haven, FL (863) or or MASTERPIECE GARDENS Masterpiece Gardens, located on Lake Pierce, seeks to provide a Christcentered retreat center, designed around a camp environment where all guests can experience God in a setting surrounded by God's own creation preserved in a natural setting. The gardens feature towering cypress estimated to be almost 4,000 years old! The Great Masterpiece attraction was created around Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. In 1929, August Wagner Company of Berlin created a 300,000-piece mosaic of da Vinci's artwork. The artwork consists of 10 panels each weighing over 500 pounds. The mosaic was flown from Germany to New York and eventually assembled in Lake Wales, Florida. The original owners donated the mosaic which now adorns the Gustafson Fine Arts Center at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. The 75-acre Christian retreat center is located on the former Masterpiece Gardens tourist attraction, which closed in In 1985, Peninsular Florida District Council of the Assemblies of God completed a 450-bed dormitory, gymnasium and cafeteria as well as a 65,000-gallon swimming pool on the lush grounds of Lake Pierce. Middle school students are scheduled for Thursday, September 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. High school students are scheduled for Friday, September 18th from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. S We are excited about a new opportunity for our High School students. Southeastern University has allowed us to be a satellite for dual enrollment. Congratulations to David Berry!!! He has been credentialed as an adjunct professor of SEU. Parents will need to put money in a pre-paid account, paid through the office, with a minimum of $20 per family, to be able to purchase lunches. Please put the money in an envelope with your students name, grade and what the money is for (lunch account). How to order via Sycamore Education: 1. Log in to your Sycamore Account. 2. Click on My Accounting. 3. Click on My Cafeteria orders. 4. Select the proper Meal Cycle for the week. 5. Order a meal for each child in your family. The meals are $3.75 for regular and $4.25 for large. 6. Be sure to enter the number 1 in the column before the meal choices. This will tell the system you want to order one meal. If you leave it blank the system will view it as a zero. 7. Hit the blue update button in the upper right corner. 8. You should get a confirmation window that the update was successful. 9. We recommend you print a copy for your records. Orders can be changed via Sycamore. However, all orders must be completed by FRIDAY MORNING AT 8:30 A.M. IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN OR DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR SIGN-IN INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE AT WHEN ORDERING A LA CARTE, CLICK ON THE A LA CARTE TAB. CHOOSE THE DAY YOU WISH TO ORDER. 5 Winter Haven Christian Agriscience Academy School Tax Id# To our perspective sponsors, I am contacting you on behalf of the Winter Haven Christian Agriscience Academy. We are very proud to say that we have been blessed to bring agriculture to the students at Winter Haven Christian for the first time since the school opened back in With that being said we are looking for support from our community and friends. It can be in the form of a sponsorship or a donation to the Agriscience department.. The school year has gotten off to a wonderful start and the students are eager to get started on some projects. A few projects we would like to get accomplished this school year are irrigation for small animals, vegetable garden, fence for the garden and animal area, vegetable garden, a chicken coop, rabbit hutch, and a tool shed. The students are going to be helping every step of the way with each one of these projects and we are in need of some supplies. Every little bit helps so if you have some tools like rakes, shovels, hoes, hammers, tape measures or materials such as wire, feeders, waterers, fence post, or anything else that could be helpful to our projects; please contact the school and let us know. Our vision for the Agriscience program is to grow each year. We would love to have a green house where the students could have starter plants, a livestock barn for a few large animals, wood working tools, and the list just keeps going.
