2 ARE YOU FIRST AID QUALIFIED? Would you like to have your Level 2 First Aid qualification or do a refresher course? Did you know that you must update your Level 2 First Aid every 12 months! Whittlesea Horse & Pony Club would like to receive expressions of interest from anyone aged over 18 who would like to attend a Level 2 First Aid course. If we get a minimum of 10 people who would like to participate, we can arrange our own First Aid training course to be held at our club house for a reduced cost. Please advise Jane Szepe if you are interested in attending this course and nominate a preferred weekday evening that will suit. Once again, we have arranged our local Horse Dentist Scott Barrow to attend our club on the 22nd of July rally. He will be doing an annual check up for those families who wish to have their horses teeth checked. The cost per horse is $70.00 and Scott will donate 10% of each check up back to our club, as he has kindly done so in the past. Therefore this will be a great opportunity to support your club as well as helping your horse at the same time. A $20.00 deposit per horse will be needed to secure your booking, payable no later than our June rally! 3 MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL! If you haven t renewed your 2012/2013 Membership, you will be unable to ride at the July rally! Please speak to Linda Dickson Membership Officer if you have any concerns. Central Zone Horse Trials 13/5/12 Two members from our club competed at the Central Zone Horse Trials in Kyneton on Mother s Day this year. Lauren Earp competed in her first Level 2 and Georgia Plain competed in her first Level 3 Horse Trials event. It was a very cold and windy day in Kyneton, however the girls braved the conditions and performed extremely well! Lauren was placed 3rd after Dressage, then went clear on X/C & S/J to finally place 2nd overall! A very good result for her first event since dislocating her elbow in January! Georgia was mid field after Dressage and also went clear on X/C & S/J to finally place 8th overall in a very large field of riders! An outstanding effort for her first Grade 3 Horse Trials event!! Congratulations to both girls for a successful day, even if it was freezing cold!!

6 What a fantastic event our club ran on 27th May even if the weather leading up to the day was soaking wet! You should all give yourselves a huge pat on the back for the hard work you put in to this event! I was extremely grateful to all of our members who turned up on set up day to help too. I think we put up the 4 x arenas & show jumping equipment in record time. I certainly appreciated everyone s help on both days. We have received very positive feedback from competitors stating that it was a very well organised event! The club made a profit of over $4,000 from this event and we didn t even run an Open Section! This money will help provide quality instruction and facilities for our club members. Congratulations to all of our members who competed on the day and represented the Purple & White proudly!
