BIRD FIGHT: SU TOPS OREGON On Aug. 23, Seattle U defeated Oregon, 1-0, in 2OT on a 103rd minute game-winner by Karli White (assisted by ). Redhawk keeper Brianna Smallidge preserved the shutout with a PK save 19 seconds before the end of regulation. SCOUTING WASHINGTON The Huskies opened 2015 with a trip to the Bluegrass state last weekend during which they fell, 1-0, to Kentucky (Aug. 21) before topping Louisville, 2-1, (Aug. 23). Friday s match starts a four-game homestand for Washington as they host Trinity Western, Illinois, and Michigan over the next two weekends. SHUTOUT STREAK In regular season play (including the 2014 conference tournament), the Redhawks recorded four straight shutouts and outscored their opponents 25-0 (Oct. 26-Nov. 9). Seattle U has not recorded a loss since a 1-0 loss to GCU on Oct. 10, their only WAC loss in the past two years. VANDERBILT Championship Field Seattle Sunday, Aug noon PT Last Meeting: First meeting Watch: Live Stats: SCOUTING VANDERBILT Darren Ambrose takes the helm of the Commodores after 15 years at Penn, where he was the all-time winningest coach in program history with 148 wins. During his time in Philly, the team recorded 15 straight winning seasons as he took the Quakers to three NCAA Tournaments and three Ivy League championships. Vanderbilt returns 15 letterwinners from their 2014 campaign, including eight starters, and they welcome six freshmen and two transfers. Among key returners are All-SEC junior forward Simone Charley and 2014 SEC All-Freshman Lydia Simmons. Christiana Ogunsami returns in goal after starting all 19 games and leading the SEC in saves in VU went overall and in SEC play. REDHAWKS PICKED TO WIN WAC Seattle U was picked to win their third straight WAC title in the league s coaches preseason vote. Natasha Howe and Kiana Kraft were also named to the Preseason All- Conference team. LOOKING BACK AT 2014 The Redhawks defeated No. 23 Washington State, 2-1, in double overtime on Nov. 14, 2014, in Pullman in the NCAA Tournament First Round, marking the first ever victory over the Cougars. Seattle U then traveled to face No. 18 South Carolina at historic Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C., where they played the Gamecocks to a scoreless draw before ultimately falling in PK s, 2-1. After the program s first appearance in the NCAA Second Round and second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, they look to build upon their success in 2015.

During her 18 coaching seasons, she boasts 16 winning seasons, establishing herself as the winningest coach in SU women s soccer history. She coached her 200th career win on Sept. 18, 2011 in a 3-1 victory over San Diego State. Seattle University s former two-time NAIA All-American soccer player came home to her alma mater as the head coach of the Redhawks women s soccer program over a decade ago. She has coached the Redhawks to three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2004, 2006 and 2007). A 2004 Far West Coach of the Year, she boasts three NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II honorees, two All-Pacific Region and 18 Far West Region selections, three GNAC Players of the Year, eight GNAC all-conference team honorees and 27 players who have earned NAIA All-America accolades. Her teams have also boasted great academic success in her tenure, including a 2007 NCAA Woman of the Year, the 2011 NSCAA Team Academic Award, five CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All- Americans and 20 CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine All-District selections.
