(206) 398-GOSU This Week for the Redhawks: The Seattle University women s soccer team (9-5) will vie for their tenth win of the season as they travel to Bakersfield, Calif. this weekend. The Redhawks will face fellow DI Independent squad CSU Bakersfield (3-9-1) on Friday, Oct. 14, in a 5 p.m. game. Last Time Out: The Redhawks are coming off their biggest win of the season, a 3-0 shutout victory over Hawaii at home on Oct. 9. Jordan Salisbury, Ava Ames and Liana Heberer all scored after the 75th minute to grab the victory. On Deck: The Redhawks will hit the road for their longest road trip of the year on Sunday, Oct. 23. SU will travel to Austin, Texas to face the Texas Longhorns in a 1 p.m. CT match. One More: The Redhawks only have one remaining home contest in They host Montana on Friday, Oct. 28, following their twogame road swing in California and Texas. The match will also mark SU s annual Senior Day ceremony. During her 14 coaching seasons, she boasts 13 winning seasons, establishing her as the winningest coach in SU women s soccer history with a overall record and a.704 winning percentage. Seattle University s former two-time NAIA All-American soccer player came home to her alma mater as the head coach of the Redhawks women s soccer program over a decade ago. She has coached the Redhawks to three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2004, 2006 and 2007). A 2004 Far West Coach of the Year, she boasts three NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II honorees, 18 Far West Region selections, three GNAC Player s of the Year, eight GNAC all-conference team honorees and 27 players who have earned NAIA All- America accolades. The Woodward Tally: Head coach Julie Woodward reached the 200-win milestone on Sept. 18, in SU s 3-1 victory over San Diego State. She is the No. 5 winningest coach in SU history in a single sport and the winningest women s soccer coach in program history. Scouting CSU Bakersfield: The Roadrunners of CSU Bakersfield (3-9-1) host Seattle U after splitting their two -match road trip in Iowa. They fell to Northern Iowa 3-1 on Oct. 7, and edged past Drake, 2-1, two days later. On July 1, 2012 Seattle U will officially join the Western Athletic Conference as full members. In goal, Kym Gause has played all 1205 minutes. She s tallied a 2.09 goals against average, 75 saves and a shutout on the year. She s also allowed 28 goals against in 13 games played. UNLV NIKE Invite Champs: The only team to go 2-0 at the UNLV NIKE Invitational, the Redhawks earned their first tournament title of the season. They defeated host-unlv and San Diego State. One For the Books!: SU s 2-0 shutout victory over then-no. 8 Portland was the biggest win in Redhawk women s soccer program history. It The Last Time Seattle U Faced CSU Bakersfield: The Redhawks won both meetings with the Roadrunners last year. At Bakersfield on Oct. 29, Carlee Norquist slid one past the keeper five minutes into the second overtime to give the Redhawks a 1-0 2OT victory.
