The Rays have still never been shut out on Opening Day, in 18 games only six teams have longer current streaks without being shut out on Opening Day. RH Steve Geltz relieved RH Chris Archer and struck out all four batters he faced he became the first pitcher since records are available (1914) to pitch more than 1 inning and strike out every batter he faced on Opening Day.
