Today is the last of four morning starts here at McCoy this season. The Sox lost to Buffalo, 5-4 on the morning of May 16; fell to Scranton/WB, 3-1 in the a.m. of May 24; and beat Louisville, 5-1 on the morning of June 7. The PawSox had one other morning start that one at 10:35 a.m. at Lehigh Valley on May 9 and they were shutout by the IronPigs, 3-0. Pawtucket is in day games this season compared to at night. Day/Night Doubleheader Don t panic, there is not another PawSox game this evening! However, the entire PawSox team (coaches and players) will take part in the annual PawSox Bowl-a-thon to benefit the Tomorrow Fund tonight. The event will take place at East Providence Lanes beginning at 6:00 pm. Fans will have the opportunity to mingle and bowl with their favorite players during an evening of fun all to benefit a great cause. This Homestand - This 6-game homestand (1-1 thus far) features a pair of 3-game sets with teams making their first (and only) visit to McCoy this season. The PawSox host Columbus again today (weather permitting) for a youth camp day matinee. The Charlotte Knights will come to town next for a 3-game weekend series starting tomorrow (Friday) at 7:05 pm on Roger Clemens replica jersey night, Saturday at 6:15 pm (Rafael Devers bobblehead giveaway and post-game fireworks to Christmas music), and Sunday at 1:35 pm (on another Family FunDay at McCoy). This PawSox homestand is one of only two substantial homestands the Sox have left this season the other a 7-game homestand from August Pawtucket also has a pair of 3-game homestands (August 3-5 and August 28-30) as well as a 2-game homestand to end the regular-season on September 2 & 3. Home Has Been Sweet, But Road Bumpy Pawtucket is 12-8 at home since June 19. The PawSox are at home (on Tuesday they had equaled their season-high of 4-games over.500 at McCoy from June 24). The Sox are on the road and have dropped 11 of their last 14 away games since June 26. Century Mark - The PawSox played Game #100 of their season last night when they fell to Columbus, 3-1 in the middle game of their 3-game series at McCoy. Since the PawSox are only slated to play 139 games now this season (the April 25 th game vs. Toledo was cancelled), that means they have 39 games remaining (19 at home and 20 on the road) including today. Pawtucket comes into play today with a record and in 4 th -place, -14½ GB. At the century mark last year (July 24, 2017) the Sox were and in 4 th - place, -12½ GB. In other recent years after 100 games the Sox have been in 2016, in 2015, in 2014 (before going on to win the Governors Cup Championship), in 2013, and in 2012 (another Governors Cup winning season). Unlucky Seven Pawtucket has lost 7 of their last 8 games. On Tuesday night the Sox snapped their season-high 6-game losing streak with a well-pitched and well-played, 6-3 victory over the Clippers. The PawSox were coming off a difficult 1-6 southern roadtrip that included four walk-off losses in a one week span going 1-3 in Charlotte last week and 0-3 in Gwinnett last weekend. The 6-game losing streak (July 17-22) was Pawtucket s longest since an 8-game losing streak just about a year ago (last July 29 August 6). The PawSox have, however, won 3 of their last 4 games here at home dating back to July 14 & 15 vs. Syracuse. NEXT ON TAP - The probable pitching match-ups for the upcoming series vs. Charlotte at McCoy Stadium: Fri. 7:05 pm (YurView on COX) TBA vs. RHP Chandler Shepherd (4-7, 4.20) Sat. 6:15 pm (myritv) LHP Jordan Guerrero (2-0, 3.25) vs. RHP Justin Haley (5-7, 3.59) Sun. 1:35 pm (myriv) RHP Spencer Adams (2-3, 3.32) vs. RHP William Cuevas (7-5, 3.28)

2 Clipping Point Pawtucket has taken 3 of the first 5 meetings with the Clippers this season including their 6-3 victory Tuesday night beind William Cuevas (6.2 IP, 2 R, 9 SO) and a balanced 10-hit attack and last night s 3-1 defeat. Just over three months ago in their only previous get together with the Clippers this season, the PawSox came up just short in their bid for a sweep of that 3-game set in Columbus back from April The Sox rallied from an early 4-0 deficit amid snowflakes on the night of April 16 to gain a 9-6 comeback victory over the Clippers in the series-opener as Mike Olt led the way with 3 doubles, a homer and 4 RBI. The next night the Sox held on for a 4-3 victory thanks to 5.1 scoreless innings of relief from three relievers. The PawSox could not complete the sweep as they were blanked by Adam Plutko in a 2-0 Columbus win on April 18. Stats vs. Columbus This Season Pawtucket is hitting.256 in the 5 games vs. Columbus this season (44-for-172) with 4 HR (Miller, Olt, Travis, and Butler). PawSox pitchers are 3-2 with a 2.86 ERA vs. the Clippers (14 ER in 44 IP). The Sox have out-scored Columbus by a margin in the 2018 season-series thus far. Series Business Pawtucket even 1-1 in this 3-game set vs. Columbus is coming off consecutive series losses as they dropped 3 of 4 at Charlotte last week and then this past weekend were swept in a 3-game set at Gwinnett. It marked the fourth time the PawSox have been swept in a series this season (suffering three 3-game sweeps and a 2-game sweep). Pawtucket did take 3 of 4 at home over Syracuse from July in their last series at McCoy to win a series (of multiple games) for the first time since taking 2 of 3 from the Chiefs at McCoy from June Pawtucket is in their 32 series this season (11 wins, 17 losses, and 4 splits). They have posted three 3-game sweeps this season along with a 2-game sweep and a 1-game sweep (in Rochester on July 4). Trending The PawSox (now at 46-54) have again matched their season-low of 8-games below.500 from May 26 (at 19-27) and Sunday (at 45-53). These equal their lowest point since they ended last year with a record. Pawtucket was last 9-game under last September 1 (65-74). Nice While it Lasted - After winning on June 25, the PawSox went over the.500 mark at for the first time since May 8. On May 6 the Sox had matched their season-high of 3-games over the.500 mark (15-12) from April 28 when they were They also (for one night anyway on June 25) moved into sole possession of 2 nd -place in the IL North for the first time since they were alone in 1 st -place on May 11. Pawtucket is now in 4 th -place in the IL North as they trail front-running Lehigh Valley by 14½ games (their season-high deficit). North Face - From June 11 July 15 the PawSox played 31 straight games against IL North rivals. The Sox are now playing outside their division starting July 16 in Charlotte through July 29 playing at Charlotte & Gwinnett from the IL South last week (going 1-6) and now hosting Columbus (1-1) of the IL West this week and Charlotte this weekend. The PawSox return to IL North foes when they head to Syracuse on July 30. Pawtucket is vs. their IL North rivals. They are 8-9 vs. the IL West and 8-8 vs. the IL South. No Columbus Day Parade for the PawSox - The PawSox who did manage to win two of their three games in Columbus this season had snapped their 8-game losing streak at Columbus with their lone win last year at Huntington Park on August 19, They have still lost 10 of their last 13 games in Columbus combined between the last four years 2-1 this season, 1-2 last year after going 0-4 in 2016 and 0-3 in The Sox did win the final 3 meetings at Huntington Park during the 2014 season (July 7-9, 2014). The Sox are all-time at Huntington Park since the spectacular ballpark opened in The 2017 Season-Series vs. Columbus The PawSox finished 3-4 vs. the Clippers last season (going 1-2 in Columbus last August but 2-2 in Pawtucket earlier in August).
