We Want to Keep the Cup The 2013 IL North Champion and defending Governors Cup Champion Pawtucket Red Sox play Game 2 of the 81 st Annual Governors Cup Finals championship series (best 3 out of 5) vs. the IL South Champion Durham Bulls tonight at 7:05 pm at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The PawSox are appearing in their second consecutive finals series after sweeping the Charlotte Knights 362 days ago, 3 games to 0 last September 13 in Charlotte to capture the 2012 Governors Cup. It was Pawtucket s first finals appearance since 2003 (lost 3 games to 0 to Durham) and their first Governors Cup Championship since 1984 (won 3 games to 2 over Maine). Durham s last appearance in the championship round came in 2010 when they lost to Columbus, 3 games to 1. However, the Bulls won the Governors Cup in 2009 as well as in 2002 and The 2003 series was a 3-game sweep by Durham of the PawSox in the club s only previous meeting in the finals. The Bulls joined the International League in 1998 and have already played in 8 Cup Finals losing in 1998, 1999, 2007, 2008, and 2010 and winning in 2002, 2003, and The PawSox have been in the IL since 1973 and they won Governors Cups in 1973, 1984, and 2012 while losing in the finals in 1977, 1978, 1991, and Repeat After Me The PawSox are trying to become the fourth franchise since 2002 to repeat as Governors Cup Champs following Durham ( ), Toledo ( ), and Columbus ( ). Whoever wins the 2013 Governors Cup will move into a tie for 8 th most among all-time Cup Champions with 4. Pawtucket or Durham will be tied with Newark and Toronto (both with 4 already) behind Rochester (10), Columbus (9), Syracuse (8), Montreal (7), Buffalo (6), and Richmond & Tidewater (5). Making of the Cup - When Frank Shag Shaughnessy introduced his playoff system to the International League in 1933, the Governors Cup was born. Sponsored by the Governors of New York, New Jersey, and Maryland, as well as the Lieutenant Governors of the Canadian Provinces of Quebec and Ontario, the trophy known as the Governors Cup has been awarded to the International League s postseason champion in each of the 80 years since. The original Governors Cup now resides at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, while a new trophy has been in circulation since The Cup has been housed at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket since last September 14 th and will be there when these teams go to McCoy this Friday for Game 3. Two Good Durham had the best record in the International League this season (87-57) while Pawtucket had the second best mark in the league at The Bulls had the best home record in the IL this year going but the PawSox had the best road record in the league at as they were the only club in the IL to reach 40 wins on the road. Successful Run Against the Bulls - The PawSox were just one of two teams with a winning record against Durham this season as the Sox went 5-3 vs. the Bulls (3-1 in Durham) during the 2013 season-series. Rochester was also 5-3 vs. Durham this season.

How The PawSox Arrived Here Pawtucket won the IL North division and finished 3½-games ahead of wild-card winning Rochester in the IL North division. But in the league s predetermined playoff format the Wild Card winner always plays the IL North Champ in the first round of the playoffs so the PawSox and Red Wings met for the right to play for the Governors Cup. The PawSox won their third straight playoff series dating back to last year as they defeated Rochester, 3 games to 2. The Semi-Final Series vs. Rochester - The PawSox and Red Wings split the first two games of their semi-final series in Rochester last week as Rochester rolled to a 7-1 victory in Game 1 last Wednesday but the Sox gained the split in Rochester with a 7-2 triumph on Thursday. Pawtucket went up two games to one with a 5-1 win at home on Friday night when the series shifted to McCoy Stadium but the Red Wings staved off elimination with an easy 9-1 victory on Saturday night. The decisive Game 5 was played on Sunday afternoon with the PawSox getting shutout pitching from four hurlers to blank the Wings, 3-0 and take the series, 3 games to 2. Pawtucket pitchers had a 3.68 ERA in those 5 games (18 ER in 44 IP) while batters hit.247 (41-for-166). The PawSox hit both homers during the semi-final series (Brentz and Hamilton) as Rochester did not homer vs. Sox pitching. How Durham Arrived Here Durham won the IL South division by a 10-game margin to qualify for the playoffs for the 6 th time in the last 7 years since 2007 (the only year they have not won the division came last season when Charlotte was the IL South champ). Last week the Bulls swept the IL West champ Indianapolis Indians, 3 games to 0 in the other IL semi-final playoff series. Durham won 2-0 and 6-5 at home last Wednesday and Thursday and completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory at Indianapolis on Friday night. Durham s pitching staff posted a 1.67 ERA in the 3 games (5 ER in 27 IP) and that was the difference because Bulls batters hit just.198 (18-for-91) with 1 HR (Anderson). Fall Baseball Although Fall does not officially arrive until September 22, there will be a feeling of Fall Baseball in the air at McCoy Stadium later this week. When the series shifts to Pawtucket for Game 3 on Friday night it will mark the latest PawSox home game at McCoy Stadium since the 1977 Governors Cup Finals when Pawtucket lost Game Two to Charleston, 3-2 on September 13, 1977 which is the previous latest date the PawSox have ever played at McCoy. This Series Games 1 and 2 of the Governors Cup Finals will be played at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (both at 7:05 pm) as the South/West winner always has Games 1 & 2 at home in odd years. The North/wild card winner hosts the final three games during odd years so the PawSox will be home for the final three games (the last two if necessary) on Friday at 7:05 pm, Saturday at 6:05 pm, and Sunday at 1:05 pm at McCoy Stadium. There is a rare off-day during this Governors Cup series on Thursday when the clubs travel from Durham to Pawtucket. And Beyond - While this series is going on, the Salt Lake Bees (AAA-LA Angels) and the Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA- Kansas City) will battle for the Pacific Coast League Championship at the same time. The PawSox/Durham winner will play the Salt Lake/Omaha winner in the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game next Tuesday, September 17 in a winner-take-all one-game playoff. The National Championship Game will be played in Lehigh Valley (Allentown, PA) and will be televised on the NBC Sports Network. The Governors Cup Championship Schedule Best 3 out of 5 series for the right to advance to the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game on September 17 in Lehigh Valley. 3 ***HISTORY CHANNEL*** Ten Years in the Making Exactly ten years ago this Wednesday (on September 11, 2003) the Durham Bulls completed a 3- game sweep of the Pawtucket Red Sox to capture the 2003 Governors Cup. The Bulls won that night, 3-2 at McCoy Stadium the last time the Governors Cup was presented at McCoy until sometime this week or weekend. Durham won the first two games of the 2003 Finals at home by identical 5-3 scores on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10. Red Sox outfielder Jonny Gomes was a member of the 2003 Durham champs along with former PawSox and current Red Sox Minor League coach George Lombard. Prominent members of the 2003 PawSox playoff team were Kevin Youkilis, Kelly Shoppach, Bruce Chen, and Jorge De La Rosa. Ring Fingers Several current members of the PawSox are bidding to win their second straight championship ring as pitchers Pedro Beato, Jose De La Torre, Brock Huntzinger, Alex Wilson, and Steven Wright; catcher Dan Butler; outfielders Bryce Brentz, Alex Hassan (although on DL), Jeremy Hazelbaker, and Tony Thomas along with pitching coach Rich Sauveur, trainer Jon Jochim & strength coach Doug Griswold were all with the PawSox when they won the 2012 Governors Cup last September. IL North Champs - The 2013 PawSox winners of 19 of their last 23 regular-season games - won their second IL North Division title in the last three years (also winning in 2011). Pawtucket punched their ticket into the post-season for the third straight season the first time the PawSox have ever accomplished that. The defending Governors Cup Champion PawSox have never won the Cup in back-to-back seasons. Pawtucket manager Gary DiSarcina became the third PawSox manager in club-history to win a division title in his first year at the helm joining Butch Hobson in 1991 and Arnie Beyeler in A Long Wait The PawSox Governors Cup title last season was 28 years in the making since their previous Governors Cup Championship in 1984 when they rallied to beat the Maine Guides, 3 games to 2. Prior to last year when they took 3 of 4 from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the semi-finals and swept the Charlotte Knights in 3 straight games in the Cup Finals, the Sox had won just one playoff series in 27 years (beating the Ottawa Lynx in the 2003 semi-finals, 3 games to 2). The PawSox had dropped 10 of their last 11 playoff series since winning the Cup in 1984 until last September when they won both playoff series to capture the Cup. Since 1977, Pawtucket is in the IL Playoffs (including 3-2 this season) while going 8-12 in their 20 post-season series all-time coming into this Governors Cup Finals. ***PAWSOX PLAUDITS*** The Beat Goes On Dating back to the regular-season and including the post-season, the PawSox have now won 23 of their last 29 games in a month span (since August 10). They have also won 14 of their last 18 games played at home at McCoy Stadium since August 13 and they have won 9 of their last 11 road games during the regular-season and post-season since August 10. Hang Onto This - Heading into play Wednesday night, the PawSox have not lost two in a row in 32 days since a 4-game losing streak from August 6-9. Pawtucket also won their final six series of the regular-season from August 13 September 2 and then added onto that streak with a semi-final playoff win over Rochester. Pitching and More Pitching - Pawtucket pitchers gave up 7 runs in their semi-final series-opener on September 4 in Rochester and 9 runs on September 7 in another loss to the Red Wings. Other than those two outings they have been extremely effective for quite some time. They gave up 2 runs, 1 run, and 0 runs in order during their three victories over Rochester while winning that series. When you go back to their last five games of the regular-season (since August 29) they allowed 3 runs total in those five games (0, 1, 2, 0, and 0 runs while going 4-1 in those). Going back a little further, the Sox did give up 4 runs in a 5-4 win on August 28 but in their two games before that they allowed 1 run and 2 runs. All told, in their last 13 games including the postseason PawSox pitchers have allowed a combined 29 runs (2.2 runs per game) going 9-4 in those 13 games. ***PAWSOX VS. DURHAM*** Regular-Season vs. Durham Pawtucket won the 2013 season-series over Durham by a 5-3 margin going 2-2 at home at McCoy Stadium but 3-1 in Durham at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Games at McCoy - Pawtucket and Durham split a 4-game series at McCoy Stadium back on May 2-5. The PawSox rolled to wins in each of the first two games by a combined 14-2 score (10-1 victory on May 2 followed by a 4-1 triumph on May 3). However, the Sox saw their 6-game home winning streak against Durham come to an end on May 4 with a 4-1 loss and then in the finale on May 5 the Bulls used four different pitchers (including Game 1 starter Jake Odorizzi) to no-hit the PawSox and split the series with a 2-1 victory.

Games at DBAP - The teams faced each other for a 4-game series in Durham just after the All-Star break with the PawSox taking 3 of 4 in a battle of division leaders at the time. Pawtucket won the first three games as they held off the Bulls, 4-3 on July 18 to snap Durham s 8-game winning streak and then cruised to 9-7 and 9-6 victories the next two nights. The PawSox could not pull off the 4-game sweep despite a valiant rally as they were down 10-3 after 4-innings in the series finale on July 21 but their comeback eventually fell short in a loss to the Bulls. The 14 runs tied for the most the Sox allowed in a game all season (a 14-5 loss at Lehigh Valley on April 8 th the other). Stats vs. Bulls in 2013 Pawtucket outscored the Bulls in their last 8 regular-season meetings by a combined score of PawSox pitchers were 5-3 with a 4.06 ERA in the season-series vs. Durham (32 ER in 71 IP). Sox batters hit.289 vs. the Bulls (79-for-273). Pawtucket out-homered Durham, 5-2 in the season-series getting homers from Butler and Hamilton among current Sox players. PawSox Bullish on Durham - The PawSox finished 6-2 vs. Durham in 2012 (going 2-2 in Durham). The Sox hold the lead in the all-time series between these two clubs since Durham arrived in the International League in Pawtucket is all-time vs. the Bulls going at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket and an even better in Durham. ***PAWSOX LATELY*** (Regular Season) Three+ Weeks to Glory The Pawtucket Red Sox were 19-4 in their last 23 games from August 10 through the end of the regular-season which was among the best, if not the best, 23-game stretch in club-history. They went from 3 rd -place and -4 GB of Rochester on August 9 (after losing for the 30 th time in 41 games) to finish in 1 st -place and +3½-games on the Red Wings. Over a shorter term the PawSox also won 5 of 6, 8 of 10, and 13 of 16 to end the regular-season Stop Right There The PawSox did not lose back-to-back games during the last 24 days of the regular-season since suffering a 4- game losing streak from August 6-9. Leader of the Pack Pawtucket regained 1 st -place for good on August 22. It was the first time they were back in 1st since they were tied on July 28 and last alone on top on July 26. The PawSox won their second IL North title in the past three years (winning in 2011 and this year). Prior to their 2011 pennant they had just one regular-season division championship (2003) in a 14-year span from Pawtucket has finished in 1 st -place seven times in franchise-history (since 1973) winning pennants in 1977, 1991, 1994, 1996, 2003, 2011, and now Winner s Circle At the PawSox posted another winning season for the third consecutive year following their record in 2011 and record in It represented the third time in franchise-history that Pawtucket has put together three straight winning campaigns. Their longest winning stretch has been five years in a row from They have had one other three year winning span from prior to this current 3-year winning streak. Reaching 80 Pawtucket finished with exactly 80 wins this season marking the seventh time in franchise-history (since 1973) that they have reached the 80 win plateau. Other years with 80 or more victories for the PawSox have come in 1977 (80), 1978 (81), 1997 (81), 2000 (82), 2003 (83), 2008 (franchise-best 85 victories), and 2011 (81). Getting Hot at the Right Time From August 10 September 2 (end of regular-season), Pawtucket put together a 6-game winning streak, a 5-game winning streak, a 3-game winning streak, another 3-game winning streak, and ended the regular-season with a 2-game winning streak. The 6-gamer came from August and matched their season-long for the third time this year. The Sox won 5 in a row from August 18-22, won 3 straight from Aug and 3 in a row again from Aug They ended the year with consecutive wins on September 1 & 2. So overall the Sox won 19 of their last 23 regular-season games. During that stretch the PawSox won 12 of their last 15 at home and they also won 7 of their last 8 on the road to end the regular-season. It s All About Pitching PawSox pitchers in their last 16 games of the regular-season were 13-3 with a 1.60 ERA (25 ER in 141 IP). Their line 141 IP, 101 H, 29 R, 25 ER, 59 BB, 116 SO. PawSox pitchers were 19-4 during their winning stretch to end the year allowing just 52 runs (only 46 earned) in 201-innings of work for a 2.06 ERA. When Pawtucket went through their prolonged struggle from June 28 August 9 they were with a 5.32 ERA (203 ER in IP). As a result their Team ERA went from 3.59 on June 27 up to 4.28 on August 9 but finished back at 3.90 their lowest since July 7 at Hit Me PawSox batters in their last 16 regular-season games hit just.227 (112-for-493) with 7 HR and 52 runs (3.25 runs per game). Despite that, the Sox were 13-3 in those games. During that stretch they had victories while scoring 1 run (once), 2 runs (three times) & 3 runs (twice). One is Not a Lonely Number Pawtucket won 8 of their last 10 1-run decisions and they were in 1-run games this season for the 4 th best winning pct. (.587) in the league in 1-run decisions. Durham was.500 in 1-run games at

How the North Was Won From August 17 through the end of the regular-season the PawSox played their last 17 games against IL North rivals going 13-4 while facing division foes down the stretch. Until that roll, the PawSox had struggled vs. their IL North opponents this season. They finished within their division after having the worst record of any club within the IL North for much of August. Pawtucket has had a losing record vs. the North just once in the last six years now (going in 2009). They were last year vs. the North helping them to the IL wild card and within their division in 2011 en route to the IL North championship. The PawSox were much better outside their division this season going overall (finishing 23-9 vs. the IL West and vs. the IL South). ***HOME VS. ROAD COMPARISON*** (Regular Season) Homefield Advantage Pawtucket was a season-high 10-games over.500 at home until their loss on August 31 in their home finale. So they finished with a mark at McCoy. The Sox went 15-4 during a stretch of playing 15 of 19 games at home from August On August 13 they had a.500 record at home (28-28) for the first time all season after being well above.500 for most of the year. The PawSox had lost 9 of 12 home games from July 11 August 2. They went 12-3 in their final 15 home games to finish on the year at McCoy and with a winning home record in 2013 for the fourth year in a row. They were at home last season, in 2011, and in Their last losing record at McCoy came in 2009 (32-39). Road Warriors The Sox finished with a away mark which was the best in the International League. Pawtucket won 7 of their last 8 away games after losing 17 of their previous 23 road games from July 4 August 9. Prior to that the Sox had won 19 of 27 road games between May 6 June 24 and owned the best road record in the league for much of that time. However, Pawtucket went 0-8 on a trip from July 4-10 as they were swept in 4-games in both Rochester and Lehigh Valley. Pawtucket was a season-high 13-games over.500 on the road (27-14) on June 24 for the first time since they ended the 2011 season with a record. Home/Road Results The PawSox were at home compared to on the road. The PawSox posted a winning road record for the third year in a row. Pawtucket s home ERA was lower than their road mark as they were 3.85 (279 ER in 652 IP) at McCoy compared to a 3.96 ERA away (265 ER in 603 IP). However, the Sox hit far lower at McCoy curiously as they had a.242 average at home (558-for-2305) compared to.269 on the road (653-for-2429). The PawSox hit 64 HR in 71 games at McCoy and 56 HR in 72 away games. ***IT WAS A MARATHON AND A SPRINT TO THE FINISH*** (Regular Season) First Three Months Were Great - After play on July 1 the PawSox had an 11-game lead on Rochester in the IL North. However, at one point, Rochester gained 15-games on the PawSox in the standings (in less than 6 weeks) and went from -11 GB on July 11 to +4-games in the division on August 8 & 9 (a season-high deficit for the PawSox). Pawtucket fell into 3 rd -place in the IL North on August 8 for the second time all year (May 5 th the other) and they stayed there until moving back into 2 nd on August 13 where they have remained until regaining 1 st -place on August 22 and clinching the IL North on August 30. Six Series Wins in a Row The Sox won six consecutive series to end the regular-season. They swept a 2-game set at Lehigh Valley on September 1 & 2. During their last homestand they won 3 of 4 vs. Syracuse and took 2 of 3 vs. the RailRiders. The Sox went 3-1 in their prior 4-game series at Scranton/WB, won a 4-game set vs. Buffalo at home (3 games to 1), and swept a 4- game set vs. Louisville before that also at home. So ultimately the Sox won six straight series for the first time this season to end the regular-season. The PawSox had lost 8 of their previous 10 series with one win and a split mixed in before winning their last six in a row. Pawtucket went in their 37 series this season (16 series wins, 12 series losses, and 9 series splits). Turning the Beat Around - The PawSox won 19 of their last 23 games from August 10 September 2. Pawtucket had the best record among IL playoff teams since the All-Star break at (Rochester was 26-19). Since June 28, however, the Sox were The PawSox had a season-high 9-game losing streak from July Before a 3-game losing skid from June 28-30, the Sox had not lost more than two in a row all year. Reverse Fortune Pawtucket finished on the year as they got back to 17-games over.500 for the first time since July 5 (52-35). The Sox had dropped from 19-games over.500 on July 3 rd to just 2-games above on August 9 (61-59) which was their lowest point since April 5 when they were 2-0. Rarified Air Pawtucket was a season-best 21-games above.500 on June 27 (at 50-29) for the first time since they ended the 2008 season with an record. Pawtucket s season-high 9-game lead on June 27 was their largest 1 st -place advantage in nearly 17 years since August 16 of the 1996 season when they were 10-games ahead. Staying In Good Standing The PawSox either held 1 st or 2 nd -place in the division all year except for being in 3 rd -place on May 5 and again from August The Sox held the lead alone atop the IL North from May 24 July 26 before being tied with

Rochester on July 27. They fell into 2 nd -place on July 29 for the first time since May 16. The PawSox were tied with Buffalo for the top spot from May ***LEAGUE RANKINGS*** (Regular Season) Running Near the Top The PawSox were 3 rd in the International League in Runs Scored with 663 runs while Durham led with 698 runs scored. Pawtucket was 7 th in Team Batting (.256) while the Bulls were 1 st at.267. Pitching In - The PawSox were 8 th in Team Pitching (3.90) while Durham led the league with a 3.33 ERA. PawSox pitchers were 5 th with 1,122 strikeouts while the Bulls led the IL with 1,246 SO. Pawtucket was tied for 1 st with 13 Shutouts while Durham was tied for 8 th with 9 shutouts. Homer Haven Pawtucket hit just 5 homers in their last 14 regular-season games. They were still 4 th in the league with 120 HR. Durham was 14 th with 77 HR. PawSox pitchers gave up just 3 homers in their last 14 regular-season games but they still led the league with 126 homers allowed. Durham gave up only 95 HR (3 rd fewest in the league). Defense Wins Championships Pawtucket was 1 st in the league in Team Fielding Pct. at.982 (93 errors in 5233 total chances). Durham finished 10 th at.978 (113 errors in 5110 chances). PawSox catchers led the IL with 46 passed balls (Lehigh Valley was next with 27) but that is due largely to the presence of knuckleballer Steven Wright on the PawSox starting staff for much of the season as well as Charlie Haeger and his knuckleball since just before the All-Star break. Blowouts Durham was a league-best in games decided by 4 runs or more. Pawtucket had the 2 nd most such victories in the IL as they went in games decided by 4 runs or more. ***MONTH TO MONTH*** (Regular Season) Month to Month - The PawSox ended the month of April with a record and in 2 nd -place, -3 GB. They finished May and in 1 st -place, +3-games. They were in June and had a 6½-game lead atop the division by the end of June. They went 9-19 in July and ended the month -1 GB of 1 st -place Rochester in the IL North as the Red Wings (20-8) gained 11-games on the Sox in the standings during the month of July. Pawtucket gained 4½-games on Rochester in August with their mark. The Sox went 2-0 in September. August Final The Sox finished in August. Pawtucket registered their 13 th winning month in their last 16 full months of action dating back to August of Sox pitchers had a 2.82 ERA (84 ER in IP) in August which was 2 nd best in the league. Sox batters hit.240 (235-for-979) with 19 HR in 30 games in August (their team batting average was tied for 7 th highest in the league that month). Goodbye to July Pawtucket s 9-19 mark in July was the worst of any IL club. Furthermore, catcher Dan Butler set an individual club-record for Most Passed Balls with 20 (Andy Merchant held the mark with 13 PB in 1975). PawSox pitches established some new club-records. They issued just 7 Intentional Walks the team record for fewest was 8 IBB in Sox pitchers had only 2 balks in 2013 which ties for their lowest ever (2 BK in 2003). And Pawtucket pitchers set a franchise-record for Most Strikeouts in a single-season with 1122 bettering their previous all-time high of 1118 SO in Some Top Performers - On an individual basis, PawSox closer Anthony Carter had 24 Saves to tie the franchise-mark of saves in a season previously set by Travis Hughes in OF Jeremy Hazelbaker didn t set a record for Most Stolen Bases in a season but his 37 SB were 6 th best in PawSox history. And he did not have enough games to unseat PawSox pitchers who have appeared more times, but starter Steven Wright led the International League with his fielding pct. as he did not commit an error in 37 total chances (12 putouts and 25 assists) during his 24 games. BOSTON RED SOX DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM Portland (68-73) The Portland Sea Dogs (AA) finished in 4 th -place in the Eastern League East Division. In Game 3, Salem got a big night from lead-off hitter Sean Coyle who was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI. Gulf Coast Red Sox (36-25) - The Gulf Coast Red Sox finished in 1 st -place but lost in the Gulf Coast Playoffs. PAWSOX PLAYER MOVES The Boston Red Sox designated RHP Jose De La Torre for assignment, thus taking him off the PawSox active roster prior to Tuesday night s game. OF Shannon Wilkerson was added to the active roster to replace De La Torre. RHP Clay Buchholz completed his rehab assignment and was activated by Boston. He earned the win at Tampa Bay Tuesday. On September 7 th the PawSox added OF Shannon Wilkerson to their roster from Portland (AA) replacing promoted OF Jackie Bradley, Jr. who joined the Red Sox that day. He spent all of this year with Portland hitting.237 in 124 games (all in CF) with 23 2B, 6 3B, 4 HR, 37 RBI and 23 SB (in 36 attempts). He was hot down the stretch batting.292 in 29 games during the month of August. Wilkerson, who turned 25 in July, was Boston s 6 th round choice in the 2008 draft after he was the Division II Player of the Year for Augusta State (GA) where he batted.441 with 24 HR as a junior. He spent most of last year with Salem (A) hitting.269 in 100 games with 29 SB and was the top Carolina League outfielder in fielding pct. (.996). Pawtucket is at the roster limit with 25 active players (not including rehabbing pitcher Alex Wilson). The PawSox made 49 player moves in the 31 days of August and then 7 moves on September 1 st. Pawtucket had been involved in a player transaction for 14 days in a row from July 28 August 10. The Sox were involved in 49 player transactions during the month of July. The PawSox made 44 player moves during the month of June and went consecutive days without a player move just twice all month (June and June 27-28). Furthermore, July 1, 2, 3, and 4 represented the first time the Sox have gone four straight days without a player transaction all season. They did so again from August Pawtucket used 63 different players during the regular-season (29 position players and 34 pitchers). Wilkerson was #64 when he appeared in a post-season game. The PawSox used 69 players during the 2012 regular-season (34 position players and 35 pitchers). That fell one short of the franchise-record of 70 different players set in both 1995 and RHP Alex Wilson (April 10, June 13 and June 18), RHP Steven Wright (April 16, July 10 and August 1), RHP Allen Webster (April 21, May 7, June 21, September 8), C Ryan Lavarnway (April 25, May 12, June 18 and September 1), RHP Jose De La Torre (May 9, June 11, July 5, and July 19), RHP Alfredo Aceves (May 24, June 12, June 18, and July 7), INF Jose Iglesias (May 24), OF Jackie Bradley, Jr. (May 29, July 9 and September 7), RHP Rubby De La Rosa (June 14, August 3 and September 1), RHP Pedro Beato (June 16, June 25, July 10 and August 7), 1B/3B Brandon Snyder (June 25), INF Jonathan Diaz (June 29), INF Brock Holt (July 6), RHP Brandon Workman (July 9 and August 5), LHP Drake Britton (July 14), 3B Will Middlebrooks (August 10), INF Xander Bogaerts (August 19), RHP Brayan Villarreal (August 19), and OF Quintin Berry (September 1) were the first 19 PawSox players promoted to Boston this season. RHP Joel Hanrahan (from April 26-28), LHP Craig Breslow (from April 27 May 6), LHP Franklin Morales (May & July 29 - August 6), RHP Andrew Bailey (May 18), OF Shane Victorino (June 6-7), 3B Will Middlebrooks (June 4-9), RHP Clayton Mortensen (June 20-26), RHP Alex Wilson (July 30 August 8 and again August 30 -?), C David Ross (August 13-18), INF Brandon Snyder (August 28 Sept. 1), and RHP Clay Buchholz (August 30 -?) have all rehabbed with the PawSox this season.
